LD29 — Beneath the Surface

ScubaBear by _Rilem 2014-04-29T19:06:00

Really nice graphics and audio. Smooth scrolling and gameplay. Good job!

Duck by Jakub Koziol 2014-04-27T20:04:00

Nice! I like what happens if you type "Quack".

Duck by Jakub Koziol 2014-04-29T19:32:00

Well it's definitely innovative, and surprisingly fun! Slightly off-theme, though! ;)

Evolve by Overkill 2014-04-29T18:40:00

Excellent graphics and nice ambient audio. Interesting gameplay ...and nice bubble effects!

Beneath the surface with Sir Walter Wuffington by Larzan 2014-04-29T19:20:00

Interesting idea, and well executed! I notice that Walter always gets back into his boat at the same point he left it - it might be interesting if, if you went over the land and jumped in the water on the other side, you reappeared on the other side of the land back in your boat. Does that make sense?

The Drowning Man by stoo 2014-04-28T21:41:00

Simple idea, but effective. I like the fish art, although their attack patterns are occasionally very mean! ;)

Nice music!

Funzi Islands by gingerbeast 2014-04-28T21:57:00

Nice one! I like the graphics, music and sound effects. The game mechanics are pretty good, but I think there's a bug in the logic - I kept on getting prompted to buy a boat even though I'd already bought one (and the boat icon was in the top right). Good fun, though!

Ben Eath the Surf Ace by goerp 2014-04-29T21:54:00

Great graphics and a very funny ending!

Radices by mariscal 2014-04-29T19:03:00

Very interesting idea, and well fitting with the theme. Pretty good graphics and sound, too!

Stickleback by DustyStylus 2014-04-28T22:03:00

Nice idea and graphics. The camera was a little fiddly, but generally a lot of fun.

GroundBreaker by Figglewatts 2014-04-28T22:34:00

Really nice! There's a good strategy element - if you dig too directly early on, you'll find it hard to return to your base later on. Good graphics and music too!

Tycho by markusfisch 2014-04-28T21:28:00

The graphics are good and the scrolling is very smooth. I like the mixture between top-down and side view. The game is quite short, but the function is there. Nice one!

Moles&Gnomes-Shahids: Holy War TD by Nelly 2014-04-29T19:11:00

Not particularly innovative, but a good implementation of tower defence, with good music.

Dungeons Of Yeragr by Brunodev 2014-04-29T18:34:00

Nice one! Good graphics and audio! I didn't quite understand the "dodge" move - maybe some more instructions would be useful?

Beneath The Skin by minibutmany 2014-04-28T21:37:00

Good idea - I like the game mechanics and music! Sometimes it seemed as though a bacteria could get a cell before you had an opportunity to shoot it, but other than that it was a lot of fun.

In particular, nice one on getting the boss battle and multiplayer working in 48 hours!

Crazy Drill by calimeraw 2014-04-27T19:56:00

This was a lot of fun, and the music is pretty catchy.

What would make it better? I wonder if it might be possible to add a bigger "risk vs reward" element - whether some type of blocks (or maybe the big groups of the same-colored blocks) could take longer to drill through (and so use more oxygen) but give bigger points.

I could also imagine simultaneous multi-player on the same map could be interesting!

Good work for just one day!

Flooded Mines by Zerkruemler 2014-04-29T18:53:00

Surprisingly addictive and pressured - the first game I didn't quite get it (I didn't see the instructions) but once I'd figured it out, it was a lot of fun.

Super Scrool Bros by eLLectron 2014-04-29T19:26:00

Nice implementation - the character moves pretty well (maybe could be refined slightly) but the scrolling is smooth and I really like the music.

Beneath The Surface by tastyoishi 2014-04-27T19:48:00

Quite relaxing - reminds me a bit of Solar 2 (http://murudai.com/solar/) with the gradual progression up to larger targets.

As Natman says, a bit more of a tutorial might be useful, or maybe just more obvious progress trackers (as it can take a while to get "level up" your iceberg).

Nice music!

Tank Game by perfect victim 2014-04-29T19:29:00

Nice one! The control system took a little getting used to, but once I had, it was pretty playable (although it was a little too easy to get stuck on corners). I like the music!

Geology Rocks by theengineers 2014-04-29T18:59:00

Nice mechanics, although it might be interesting to make the blocks tip if they're not supported correctly. Pretty good graphics, and a good sense of humor!

Cybs Submarine by Cybs 2014-04-27T19:59:00

Fun. Good controls (although it would be nice to have a keyboard option).

Scrolling is very smooth. Nice bubble trail too!

Ama by machine_screen 2014-04-29T21:49:00

Nice game! I like the graphics and the sunset/night sequence is a really nice touch. It would be good if you didn't get stuck on walls quite so easily, though.

Earth. by miwuc 2014-04-28T21:32:00

Nice idea, and the fossils are very cool. It's good to have audio, but the sound did grate a little after a while.

Is there a kind of ambient occlusion lighting effect on the blocks? It looks it - very clever!

Crystal Advance by flashkick 2014-04-29T18:46:00

Nice one - very slick scrolling and player movement! Graphics are pretty good too!

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Bonehenge! by colapolka 2016-08-29T12:45:00

Graphics and sound are great. The gameplay is fun for a bit, but maybe it could do with a bit more depth?

Otherworld by notime4games 2016-08-29T12:50:00

I didn't get this to work (web version) in Chrome. I see the main page, but the area where I'd expect the game to be is just plain black. The following message appears on the developer console: "Mixed Content: The page at 'https://notime4games.itch.io/ld36' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image 'http://webplayer.unity3d.com/installation/getunity.png'. This content should also be served over HTTPS.". Screenshots look good, though!

Sir Serell Saves The World by imogiagames 2016-08-29T12:54:00

Great graphics and sound, and the twin-stick setup worked well for me. As others have said, the enemies all took a lot of killing... and I seemed to sometimes get stuck on invisible walls (or maybe edges). Good fun, though!

KEK NOR KEK by nanimono 2016-08-29T12:48:00

As others have said, the graphics are good, and the way you "decompose" is very neat. It would be good to have some gameplay, though! ;)

S**ON by jakatpemadi 2016-08-29T11:53:00

I'm not quite sure what I'm doing - maybe it would be good to have some more guidance?

Chariot Racing Manager 44 BC by franklyn 2016-08-29T12:22:00

Quite fun - in particular the breeding side! Sometimes, it crashes, though, with "game.js:886 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'maxspeed' of undefined".

Roswell by jaxonf92 2016-08-29T12:58:00

Quite fun, but as others have said, it would be much better if you could move up and down - it's a bit too hard to dodge tank fire. I did like how you can "drop" people with a splat!

Ancient Boom by Jordan 2016-08-29T13:03:00

Quite fun, but I couldn't get movement to work - neither WASD nor arrow keys in either Chrome or Firefox (and my keyboard does work generally! ;) That meant I ran out of ammo quite quickly. :(

The Switch - Worker by Ghen 2016-08-29T12:01:00

A really interesting idea, and the pressure really mounts over time!

Die Die Die by spacewarp 2016-08-29T11:45:00

Interesting idea, and great execution! Seems quite deep, and I love the dice rolls!

Aqueductus by wheerd 2016-08-29T11:48:00

Nice graphics - gameplay seems very similar to classic Pipemania!

LD39 — Running out of Power

Unadexus by smbe19 2017-08-02T19:25:48Z

Nice game.

I found that once a coal plant/oil plant/gas plant had temporarily run out of gas, it seemed to stay in "disabled" (brown-colored) state even after there was coal/oil/gas available once more - shouldn't it spring back into action once there are resources available again?

Also, I couldn't get the "remove" action to work.

Other than that, I was enjoying trying to keep my civilization alive.

BLACKOUT by Cambryx 2017-08-02T20:18:45Z

Great graphics and sound! The gameplay is pretty good too, although it feels a little unfair at times - you sometimes have to just take a blind guess as to what to do, and get punished if you guess wrong.

DONNIE_VR by internetpaulicy 2017-07-31T23:47:40Z

Nice game with effective retro graphics! It would be good to have some kind of scoring mechanism, but otherwise fun!

JouleThief: Charge Your Phone by kroltan 2017-08-02T20:08:40Z

Great graphics and music. Unfortunately, the controls didn't seem to work for me - I'd push WASD and the character would move incredibly slowly - has something changed since the earlier comments, as it was previously described as too floaty?

As I say, though, the art is great.

V.E.S.T.A.L.E. by kromeboy 2017-07-31T23:36:01Z

Very interesting/unusual idea, but I think the gameplay needs a little tuning. Well done, though!

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-07-31T23:41:45Z

Nice one - a creative idea and nice graphics! I couldn't get past level 5, though - the "door" wouldn't open - I tried stepping on the brick in front of it, but nothing happened. Until then, quite fun!
