Didn't have time to find a host for the HTML5 version, so I uploaded a zip of it :disappointed: Maybe tomorrow I'll upload it somewhere! Goodnight!

Enjoyed playing this, nice job.
That was fun! Btw, I found itch.io easy to use to upload the html version.
Nice idea. I personally found it quite hard, though it could just be me being rubbish at this sort of game. I enjoyed the simplicity of just having the two resources to worry about.
I think the game was quite fun but needed more variety like more enemies and more build option, made give the player the ability to upgrade base
itch.io is a popular upload place for Ludum Dare. Check out the hosting guide for more options: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/hosting-guide
Very fun and well balanced game, the explosion sound effect was good early on if you weren't paying attention to the whole map got got annoying after a while. I like the addition of the leader board I got about 70K points and was in 2nd place globally if 1st place wasn't 100k points ahead of me I might have been motivated to try again.
The first place was me after I got lucky strike... Let's say that I got time to master the game quite well after debugging it that many times :)
Thanks for the itch.io suggestion: I'll add a link to the web version now :)
I really appreciate the simple design in terms of gameplay, art, and sound. That plus the gradual ramping up makes for a really fun game that gets difficult pretty quickly!
This is a fun game that seems to be well built and polished. I had fun with the one game I played, but I think it needs something more. Since there doesn't seem to be a requirement as to where you put your extractors it seems like its best just to place them everywhere (and you kinda have the money to do so).
For compo -- I think you made a really solid game. As a game though, I think it needs just one or two more mechanics to be really engaging. Thanks for making it! : )
This game was really cool. I think the only thing that would have made this better is a little bit of music. Congrats!
Also, I see you gave an extremely long and thorough review of this game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/zynite
First, thanks for writing really good feedback! But, I regret to inform you that the game you reviewed was actually an LD38 game so you won't get coolness for it, but hopefully you helped the game creator out. Make sure you are rating from this link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/games
@ajayajayaj: You are a stalker :open_mouth:! Are you following me around here? :grinning:
Thanks for telling me I rated the wrong game, otherwise I would have never noticed I thought to have clicked the correct link, but clearly I didn't :slight_frown:.
Luckily I also played a bit also his other game (by mistake) because he overwrote the windows version with the new game (and also some of the comments apply to both games), I'll surely review his other game, too.
Thanks for the notification! :grinning:
@Kosmo Yes, I actually had in mind the constraint that you had to build this "power network" that needs to be linked back to the base to keep people from positioning towers randomly around the map (similar to creeper world), but didn't have time for it.
I also wanted at least 2 types of towers and enemies, but decided to invest time instead in making a high score list (I thought to be cool to be able to see what other people were able to achieve). I actually collect both metal sent and enemies killed along the score (I don't show them in game though). I should have probably sent also the time spent and the seed of the map to try playtesting it :). I'm anyway fairly happy with the scale of the battle that can come up (especially near the end), even with only one turret an one enemy.
Another **tip** I have after seeing one of my friends playing: try to position towers well outside the base so that you are able to get from the beginning a good area that you can use for the extractors :). The winning strategy here is the "economy boom" one :)
4th place at the first attempt! Seeing how many people rated your game, I hope this does not mean most of the players don“t test properly :-/
To get to important things: Fun tower / defence game in space with a huge game area. Had great fun watching my defence crowing bigger and bigger in radius, zooming more and more out.
A background music would have been great.
Good job!
It was a fun little game, I liked the concept a lot! I got pretty far as it's fairly easy to survive if you clump your miners in a few spots and spam shooters around them. I lost because I let the aliens overrun me as the game got very laggy - so a bit of optimization and you're good to go!
@FunkyHippo Thanks for the feedback :)
The game is basically not optimized at all. I think the game worst performances are on calculating the logic of all the objects, which (if i remember correctly) uses something like a O(n^2) algorithm where n= number of objects in game (which is a quite bad idea when that n is big especially in this game). The logic is run every 1/10th of a second so you may see "choppy" performances quite easily
I noticed that especially the web version (if you played that) gets laggy quite quickly. The native ones are much better.
(There's also the 'minor detail' that I have an i7 with 8 virtual cores that may have contributed to the bad optimization...I fear it's not much representative of 'average' PCs...)
Fun and engaging! Keeps me coming back to build a bigger base and get a higher score. I'm a fan of how you have to constantly be on the move because the metals you mine are finite. Also - nice work on the intro tutorial. Very helpful and rare for a jam!
Nice game overall. My biggest complaint is that the difficulty scaled too slowly.
Nice game! It is easy to understand what to do. It would be nice some background music.
Good job.
Nice in-game tutorial. I enjoyed this one a lot! At a score of 20000 the game started to lag and it felt like I hit a skill ceiling.
Yeah, 8th place! I played the native (Mac) version and had no problems with lag. Very cool concept, it makes me want to come back for more. It feels a bit like spinning plates, you have to check back on every miner to see if it doesn't get overrun by aliens. Graphics are simple but functional, for audio the same. It could have used some (simple) music. But it is a lot of fun to play, which is the most important thing!
Overall a very solid entry!
Good job!
Game mechanics is exciting, I've started and got back to life 20 minutes and 60k+ points later
Great game, a little more balance would made this game even better!
A nice little tower defense game. The graphics and sounds are quite basic, but fit the game well. Same could be said about the mechanics, but due to the sheer size it felt quite nice, almost epic. :) Obvious improvements would be, as you already stated, some more types of units and enemies as well as upgrades. I have to admit that I generally don't like games with the premise of inevitable demise. But I did like this one, so good job overall!
Good tower defense type game. I like that it forces you to move further and further out from the base. It's probably the longest that I've spent on a game so far.
Pretty neat defence game. Could use some more gameplay and difficulty, but what's there is quite good.
