This was a fun one. Also reminded me somewhat of Ender's Game lol. No real complaints from me dawg

I'm really liking the graphics, and the combat was pretty good. The controls felt a little bit floaty, like there was mouse acceleration and when I stopped moving the mouse the camera would still drift a little bit. Still, I had fun and as I said it looks fantastic.
Short and to the point, with good replayability, with pretty nice art and music. I can't really find a fault with this.
The art is great, and I liked this kind of game. I didn't really understand why even though characters die they still have health and an inventory slot.
Man this was a fun, and a nice use of the theme too. The art is simple but pretty and neat to look at, and the music is great. The game's pretty hard too, and I like a challenge.
I like stealth games, and this was pretty neat and fun. I actually enjoy the lack of any map because it makes learning the layout part of the game, and stealth games are supposed to be sorta kinda puzzle/maze games.
Pretty cool, simple concept. Hard but fun.
I'm loving the paper art, but it's a bit difficult to figure out what I'm actually supposed to do.
I think you got a lot of potential here. Maybe make a better tutorial/instructions, and once you flesh it out it could be really great fun. Once I kinda started to understand, I was having fun.
This has a lot of potential. The graphics are nice and I like the curve screen effect. The theme ties nicely into the hurt dog mechanic, which is brutal. The combat needs improvement, understandably it wasnt too fleshed out. I feel the delay for melee attacks is to long, like it takes too long to wind up.
@baggef thanks for the feedback. I understand, as I had to (like many others) reduce the scope of my project. I wanted to make a small roguelite in the vein of nuclear throne or BoI, but didn't have time to implement different rooms or the random layout generator (which I do have an algorithm for), or other more advanced features. Hopefully this serves as a good starting point because I am interested in making the full game someday.
@legavroche Thank you, I agree I made the enemy spawner a bit hastily, as it was one of the last things I implemented and was running out of time. I'm glad you think it has potential though, as with a proper development period, along with what I learned, I just might be able to make it all work
Yeah love2d is great, especially for smaller projects. It's pretty underrated I think.
@justcamh thanks man. The decision to make the game's resolution square was a conscious one, to make the arena/room square. I could have chosen a better default resolution though, I have a 4k monitor so I was kinda working for myself when I made the default big. Still I wrote that if it's too big and the options doesn't seem to fix it, and if you're on Windows 10, then that could very well be a problem with the way Win10 scales windows on high dpi monitors, and I described how to fix that on this page.
The mouse cursor not being able to select menu options wasn't broken or an oversight so much as I didn't have time to make that functionality. I understand the confusion though, and I'm sorry, I could have hidden the cursor until the game started or something to avoid that. On a post jam version I'll rework the control scheme to be more intuitive.
I was planning on adding a way to replenish energy (as well as have multiple rooms in a randomly generated layout), but time management and creating things on time was my biggest weakness, so I had to make the minimum presentable game which is what you got.
As I said, I'm interested in making a post jam version (and it would likely be from scratch so I can properly organize my code), so thank you for the feedback!
@simon-parzer yup the default resolution was too high and that was my fault. I use a 4k monitor so it was no problem for me but I didn't have the foresight to make the default smaller. Thanks for playing though!
@ecmjohnson The resolution thing is really the fault of both. I did make the default too high, but Windows 10 is really annoying when it comes to high dpi scaling. I've had issues with plenty of other apps or games where changing the option helped. As for the itch app error... I have no idea, I'm sorry. I can offer an explanation that the game data is located in a .love file which is really just a zip folder. The RunningLow.exe file basically appends the .love file to love.exe to run the game (Love2d is the framework I used to make the game). I'm not sure how itch's app works so I don't know where the problem is. Maybe it didn't recognize the shortcut? I really don't know.
@ajayajayaj Thanks man, sorry about the resolution once again. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
It's a little bit buggy. The tentacle seems to fly at you too fast, you can't really react if it's on the screen.
A man after my own heart! Warcraft 3 is my favorite game, and this was a fun change of perspective. The graphics and concept are nice, although the mechanics are a bit bare, it was still fun to play as the peon for a bit.
Really fun, and hard. I'm digging the artstyle
Pretty fun, but yes kinda glitchy, I get it though (LD and all that, you can't expect perfection with such a time limit), but the bugs are for the most part manageable. Good job m8
Pretty neat text adventure, however, first time I tried it I was traveling to systems for a while and was finding absolutely nothing, no life, noone to abduct and sell. The rng should be tweaked I think so that the more empty systems you find the more likely it is that the next one is not empty. Eventually I came across life and the game became fun as I was finally abducting and selling people
fun game, it's like that old windows screensaver with the tubes but I'm controlling the tubes. Mouse control would be a nice addition I think.
@junagames 7zip should be able to unpack .rar's
As for the game, it's a solid take on a "vampire survior"-like
Super impressive, probably the coolest application of the theme I've seen so far. I wonder if you can fit the game on a qr code?
This is a unique game, although the sensitivity of the swipes seemed a little inconsistent I had fun and liked it
I like the premise and it's fun at first but I can't figure out how to place the power generator piece. It was red no matter where I tried to put it. Also there's a bug with selecting multiple pieces. The art and music is nice
I didn't know how to "catch" a ghost at first but kinda my fault for not reading the how to play instructions carefully. The setting is pretty fitting for the start of October. The navigation felt a bit confusing, and the map only helped a little. Sound design was nice though
@peremily try it now
@aweskybear good point, I put some screenshots of the game up. And I'm glad you liked it!
quite challenging, but cute art
This is amazing. I'm impressed you managed to make a pretty polished city builder with nice art and music in such a short time
This is pretty fun, and the sounds are really nice and satisfying. I wish that there was a button to restart when you die because pressing escape closes the game for me, so I have to relaunch the game when I want to do another run.
Unfortunately there were these black boxes covering the screen for me
scrn4.png
fun puzzle game, I like the presentation. web build was super slow for me but the download worked fine
This is really cool. A spaceship builder with a buggy grabber makes for an interesting puzzle game.
@lupercalia sure thing!
a quaint asteroids clone, wish it had audio but I understand the struggle, I've made jam games with no audio before due to crunch.
The HTML version works fine on my end, and the game is a fun and simple spin on the theme. I agree with the other comment that the items didn't seem to vary in weight much. What if there were some items that detracted from your score so you'd want to avoid them? Like expired milk or something idk
Really impressive that you put this together in roughly a weekend, it's really cool.
simple but interesting, I like having to avoid the red ball tailing you
The game crashed once but worked after relaunching.
Interesting, I haven't seen a roblox game submitted before. Pretty cool
A perfect complement to euro truck simulator. Now I can load cargo in one game and drive it in another
Reminds me of sokoban but with a funny setting, and I like how you have to cleanup and move the stuff onto pallets
Didn't really work at first, tried restarting, then I could play it. Pretty neat concept
This is pretty challenging, but the core gameplay loop is a bit too basic, maybe if there were some abilities or collectibles? Overall though the art and music are nice and it was pleasant.
I'm not really sure what to do in this game? I can move around the room but can't find a way to interact with anything.
