I like how you can "save" a bad shot by flicking it again before falling out. The controls are like inverted golf but real-time. Strange but original graphics. It's a vibe.

A wonderful game! I liked the idea and the sound design. The controls are a bit unusual, but when you get used to it, you can perform beautiful moves!

This is a unique game, although the sensitivity of the swipes seemed a little inconsistent I had fun and liked it

I can't believe you recorded this many voicelines about tabletop gaming

zirrrus 2023-10-03 06:51

Once I got the hang of the movement mechanic, it was pretty fun! I like that there is no limit to flicks, just shooting the disc all over the place and attempting trick shots was neat. Interesting idea, and well executed! And cute barks :)

xD great sound design, i love the "i hate youuuuuuuuu", cool idea with enemies as disks, a bit janky controls kept me going off the platform but the games fun :D

Left it open for a while just to listen the menu soundtrack. "Maybe someone should press the play button to start" Then I spend a crazy amount of time just pushing goblins down to hear them screaming. Which was quite tragic too so now I feel bad.

Anyways, I really like this

You have a great sence of humor! : )

Innovative coin mechanics, did not hit the theme perfectly but fun to play. The graphics did a good job and the ramps where a nice level element.

I had much fun playing it.

The sound design sells this game far too well, it really has that: "yeah I make random noises because I'm immersed in a tabletop game" the grephics are very nice, the game has a very well thought out mechanic, and just going full throttle off a rap into the abyss is so incredibly hilarious! Well done!

addeum 1: the menu lore is hilarious too

addeum 2: I want the expansions >:(

I really appreciate the novel way of interacting / inputting control for movement. At first I was under the assumption that it was a drag-to-release. Very good, all game together nicely, consistent style and audio, I think this made for a very fun and quirky game. The voice acting made me chuckle very bad, well done !

The controls are definitely tricky, but its a super unique game in the jam. Congrats on the submission!

drumgadget-433 2023-10-11 23:00

I'm a fan of crokinole, so I enjoyed this! Although the controls felt a little unforgiving, I really appreciated the overall gameplay. The jump animation when launching off a ramp was a nice touch as well. I think there's definitely room to expand on this concept! Nice work!

rongon 2023-10-11 23:18

Super hard controls. I guess it would be easier with the touch controls (on mobile), with the mouse I release the press either before the piece or after it most of the time. Thank you adding checkpoints, it would be very frustrating to get back on the start of level, as I died a million times. Interesting sound effects, I guess you recorded them yourself :)

phlip45 2023-10-11 23:47

@drumgadget-433 @rongon @mz-eth I've noticed a few people playing never really got the hang of the controls, so I made a little tutorial video which I added to the top of the page. The controls are still a bit difficult, but if you thought you had to click on the disk then I could see the controls being perceived as incredibly frustrating and unresponsive.

mz-eth 2023-10-12 15:24

@phlip45 An idea that might have helped a little (if you had time that is), adding a different mouse icon when you're clicking and actively able to impact the disk. After getting used to it I was imagining that the mouse was a solid object when I was holding click and moving fast enough. Just an idea though, I might be super off on that!

phlip45 2023-10-12 15:49

@mz-eth Definitely a good idea! Wish I had thought of it, haha!

I did think of a way to more accurately get a flicking line after the jam. Currently, on collision it takes your past 5 or so mouse positions and calculates the line of best fit to get the angle to flick. Then it uses the total distance traveled over those positions to get the force. After the jam I figured it would be better if I had just taken the initial click point and the collision point to get the line and the difference in time between click and collision to get the force.

Oh well, live and learn eh?

mz-eth 2023-10-13 00:53

@phlip45 oh yeah I know all too well about the "live and learn" of game dev haha

tetrapteryx 2023-10-17 12:35

This is a really unique idea! I love the sound effects. I would have found it helpful if you had some easier levels right at the beginning, since it's tricky to get the hang of the movement, and a little discouraging to try to navigate so many narrow twists and turns right off the bat.

null1233 2023-10-20 08:34

Very unique mechanic and very nice art. Quite fun game.
