This game was awful, in order to attack I had to stop all movement otherwise aiming caused mental anguish. I only got to level 5/7 and each and every moment of that was incredibly stressful, being unable to see the Qs, %s and 0s as they hunted me down while I navigated the maze of death. The gimmick is a very good gimmick. would be very good for speedrunning 9/10 roguelite and soulslike experience, would recommend to any other masochist out there

That's a clever way to interprate the theme. The space is VERY limited, so it's kinda hard, but it works well !

okay im sorry for making reap what you sow :sob: but seriously, this is innovative as heck and I love how you broke down the mechanics in each level along with making each level diverse and unique, keep up the good work!
Fun, aiming felt a little janky, but still fun!

very cool interpretation of the theme! aiming with the mouse is a bit frustrating because of the small viewpoint combined with the moving window. I think perhaps a simpler aiming and shooting mechanism would have helped. I frequently ran out of ammo... perhaps there were ammo pickups I didn't find/understand?

The resizing of the window, the camera and the gameplay was very smooth and polished! It was kind of hard to shoot while moving, and the sound effects did get a bit repetitive. Very fun!

Fun game.
I played on linux through wine, got a crash loading level 5. 2023-10-03-160826_599x499_scrot.png
Autoreloading once you ran out of ammo would be nice QoL. Also some indicator of enemy health.

Didn't work on windows. It said level 1 and then the window shrank and went brr (it got slightly larger and smaller in fast alteration). Tried all the input keys, nothing happened.
@walaber the player has infinite ammo so the only pickups found throughout the maps are more health. if your talking about running out of ammo mid combat then you can cancel your reload and still have more ammo than when you started the reload.

I really like the idea of using the actual window size as a mechanic ! The gameplay itself has some problems, as aiming with the mouse on a tiny window is a bit hard, especially when you can't see the enemies because you are running away from them. I would have liked to see a mechanic that acts on the window size, like a powerup that allow you to see further for a short amount of time, it feels a bit under used at the moment. Anyway, really cool concept, it opens a huge design space that would be really fun to explore !

Well polished game. Hope the screen could be a little larger as it's hard to see the enemy with so limited sight.
Wow! What a neat game! I dont have any suggestions. Clean and solid game.
The limited moving window size is a neat idea, but made for annoying gameplay due to not knowing who's shooting and from where. Not knowing where to go took away from the experience I had.
I don't know if it's the same with a 1080p monitor but with my 4k monitor everything seemed really small. I think it might be improved with the ability to know where to go and how to naviagte the level in an interesting way. I do think the ascii art style fits well with this sort of game

This is one of the most innovative ideas I've seen at any game jam. I do think there's some technical quirks to be sorted out, but I had fun with it. Loved the graphics too, they really emphasized the "behind the scenes" scenario :D
The window gimmick is really cool and unique, and for the most part it's pretty fun but aiming felt kinda bad unless standing still. I still enjoyed it.
I'm quite fascinated by the concept of battling viruses in such a confined space. It's intriguing how the game balances the challenge of limited movement with strategic play. The visuals do an excellent job conveying the 'behind-the-scenes' theme, and it's impressive how well everything works in a minimalist window. Would love to see some quality-of-life improvements like a clearer ammo indicator or smoother aiming. Overall, great job on presenting a challenging yet enjoyable experience!

This reminds me of the stick-figure fighting with math in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRj3X7IFCjY
If I had any ideas for improvement, it would be to improve the aim during movement - hitting an enemy was pretty challenging.
The screen panning around the screen was great, I love the Gauntlet-esque end of level as well.
Well done!
Cool idea and mechanics. Well done!
Love the window gimmick, found aiming to be a bit too challenging though due to the odd behavior of the aiming while moving.
Understood that the game plays best on 1080 monitors, I played with 4k and it was manageable, just slightly small and contained to the upper left quadrant of my screen. I like that it was a maze and had interesting window mechanics. Definitely a cool concept for a game. As for feedback, my only concern was the volume, and how jarring it could be when you aggro enemies through walls and can have multiple enemies indefinitely shooting at you creating a cacophony of sounds playing at the same time. Honestly I kind of enjoyed the aesthetic of the crosshair wandering when the player moves. It makes it feel like there is a higher skill cap if you wanted to improve at the game.

Nice work. I can't describe how this game can lift your spirits. I hope that in the future there will be a full version.

Very, very impressive mechanic. I don't think I've ever come across that in a game and really didn't even know it was possible. I had fun playing! Well done.
