Neat idea! The lack of any time pressure made it feel more "thinky" than traditional snake, though my losses still came from getting distracted and making silly errors. (Or from using a gamepad, which is a very different experience especially when the left stick is slightly broken.)

It wasn't clear to me whether the game was changing or becoming more difficult as I progressed? I could convince myself that alike colours were coming closer together, but I wasn't sure. If not that might be something to work on, since (at least with my clumsy play) the screen fills up fairly quickly and the wall density doesn't go up much past that point. That didn't interfere with the fun of the game, though.

Oh, and great music; my compliments to the composer!

Quite a relaxing game, even after your city becomes a tough to navigate maze. Really enjoy the aesthetic and the music.

so when snake and a tron light cycle have a baby you get this little cute and cuddly fun to play with bastard. was fun to play, but for me it takes a bit of time to ramp up in that tension.

It's an idea with potential but I think it falters of multiple fronts. The first is that it's essentially a puzzle game, but controlling your dot properly is also part of the challenge because the controls are not tight enough. It would have been served better by better controls for the player since the game is not attempting to be an action game of any kind. The second is that the choice of colors is poor. You could have chosen colors that are more distinct from each other to prevent any kind of visual confusion. And finally, even though it's an idea with potential, this iteration is missing some basic push/pull-risk/reward. Because you can overwrite past paths, the main challenge becomes moving around small patches of undeleted land, which is a really kind of fiddly and kind of boring type of gameplay IMO, and it's also not helped by the loose controls. Overall a nice effort, though.

fun game, it's like that old windows screensaver with the tubes but I'm controlling the tubes. Mouse control would be a nice addition I think.

federico-delgado 2023-10-03 01:44

Quite addictive, i loved it. The controller is responsive and neat, i think it could be cool to play it with your mouse as if you were drawing. Congrats!

This is really clever! Great twist on the mechanic. I agree with @a327ex that making it more precise would help—I died a couple of times because I couldn’t tell whether I was far enough away from a wall. I appreciated that it allows you to stop moving and plan things out though. Nice work.

i drew the lines about 20 minutes for fun before get why everything is errasing. and i am going to do it again.

elmoeinstein 2023-10-03 06:08

Really cool idea and is executed pretty well

sown 2023-10-03 06:39

cool concept, if a bit boring

This is a nice game. The instant transition after hitting a wall made it so I just kept playing the game again. Since you're making the walls it becomes a matter of planning ahead when there's a lot more walls, so you don't make an impossible level. I was trying to see if the balls spawn on same-colored walls, which would mean they would activatee those walls and end in failure. But, it looks like that doesn't happen (or too rarely for the time I spent), and there is usually a second ball you can go for, so that's a good thing. The game also has the option of going over old walls to replace them with a different color, which gives more options for how to approach the game. Also its cool that you highlight slightly the walls that correspond to the balls on the screen, so you know which walls can get activated.

Also the music was fitting for this game, and it didn't get boring for the number of attempts I made.

Hi there,

What a good interpretation of the theme! Really something small and catchy, nice work.

What a little bit disturbing is a bit of highlight of lines, which might be active next. I got the idea why it might be useful, but I read them a few times as walls already.

Music is really catchy as well, nice work guys!

chusmimax 2023-10-03 16:49

Really soothing, I liked it way more than I expected.

It feels like a resting point between ultra intense jam games.

thejookerful 2023-10-03 17:30

Interesting and relaxing game, despite the challenge. This may be due to the relaxing music. Your game idea in relation to the theme is truly fascinating; it's very smart. Great job.

I just have one thing to say, it's a sad that there isn't a game over screen or that you don't display our best score because if we're not careful and we lose, there's no way to see the score we achieved.

smiley405 2023-10-03 22:48

at first was just connecting dots but got really interesting after level/score 24 :D i got to 28 so far. simple but well executed and the music matched the game perfectly.

nat1wizard 2023-10-04 01:25

Nice game overall with a cool relaxing feel! I can imagine the skill ceiling on it getting pretty high after a while, which is always nice. Having some form of game over screen or high score counter would add a lot I think.

gorglomux 2023-10-04 07:28

Wow what a nice concept! Is this made just with line renderers ? I would be curious on how did you handle the collision as well!

The music fits perfectly, and the game is very unique, would definitely recommand it !

pabloabraham 2023-10-04 19:50

Just gave 'Paul Klee, Rich Harbour' by Subsage and haid a go. Brilliant twist on the classic snake mechanic with the color matching. It's almost meditative at times, but there's depth in the challenge, especially with planning ahead for color walls. However, adding a game over or high score screen could elevate player experience. The music by haid sets the mood perfectly. Would be interesting to know how the collision was handled using line renderers. All in all, a unique and engaging play. Well done!

nekusoul 2023-10-05 16:14

Nice concept. It's neat how you're also generating cool-looking art while playing.

ani 2023-10-05 16:21

I like the minimal design of this and how the game naturally creates pretty visuals. I mainly agree with others on how there's no game over screen, so losing feels a bit sudden.

egormnc 2023-10-05 20:02

interesting game and its concept

jordan-neff 2023-10-06 14:02

Interesting puzzle snake-like game. Took me a little to figure out how the colors/lines worked and that they weren't all active at the same time. Almost more of a strategy once I got so far, but also not since I couldn't predict what color dots would be next and where they were, so at a certain point it just became impossible. I agree with other comments that a game over / high score would be a great addition, especially if it included an image of the level you made during the gameplay!

nikor 2023-10-12 19:15

I really like the music. It gives a nice feel to the game.

dried09 2023-10-14 12:02

I'm not sure if it is had some references or it is an original idea, but basically it is quite interesting mechanic. Didn't think that something in tiny puzzle genre could be new for me nowadays. Great job.
