I got a highscore of 1920! Wahoo! I like the game, and it 100% fits the theme to a tee! I have some feedback: The color scheme looks a bit confused - Using several high saturation colors will tend to do that. Having some calmer colors might offset that. You also kinda just wait for death in the last 20 seconds or so. Spawning more rings during the game might be a solution, but there's likely better ways too. Well done and good luck!

I got 2970, eventually I ran out of food and it was just a matter of keeping the mean meatball on the other side of the blue block until the walls killed me. It's good and all it's missing is a keyboard shortcut to restart after you die.

The red ball that follows you is very oppressive. I got about 1400 points on my best run. It seems like the strategy is to collect as many rings as you can before the ball is free, because you only have a moment once it's free. It's fun for a bit. Thanks for sharing!

Audio and graphics make it feel like a complete game. The overall experience at first feels somewhat frustrating, because you can't do much against the elements that kill you, and the game ends so quickly.

The red ball seemed impossible to avoid, but after a few more tries I got it, so it feels a little more fun now.

My score: 1920

simple but interesting, I like having to avoid the red ball tailing you

Simple and nice game, i managed to make the enemy get stuck between every game so it was a little easier to get a high score.

My score: 2400

The red ball is lighting fast! Sometimes I would spawn in and die within 2 seconds because the ball didn't have anything to block it. Feels good to play when you get a good run, could easily be expanded to something more with some more polish. Good job!

I got 2580.Very simple game and easy to have fun, I want to know what the highest score can get.

Fun game, It would be nice if every action you make was accompanied by a popup showing how much score I made. For example, you break purple rectangle and the message says "+100 points". That would make it more juicy.

2080, but I know I can do better!

Fun game! The mechanics are easy to understand, and I like the way it looks. Nice work!

I got 1860! It was a very fun game, and I had a good time. I was a little frustrated that new points only appeared after you collected older ones, and that the new points could appear outside the boundaries. It felt like the longer I survived, the less points I could get - where, from a risk-reward perspective, giving you the most points at the end leads to a cool decisive ending! It felt smooth, and the concept with the blocks was very cool! The enemy was also a neat touch, but they just kinda got stuck between walls most of the time. I enjoyed the game overall, and I hope game development in your future goes well!

The game is interesting, it was quite nice to play it, keep working on it and everything will be cool

Definitely some issues with difficulty here, instantly being thrown in with no time to get your bearings is a pain. I literally died in the first second of my first run which doesn't feel great.

The walls being color coded doesn't work for me, they all look so similar it doesn't feel like a meaningful enough difference for a first time player to absorb the situation around them and make informed decisions.

Overall just needs a difficulty tweak downwards, especially at the start to give the player time to find their bearings, difficulty can escalate as the game progresses but dying 5 times in the first 2 seconds is not ideal.

Some more animation and movement on different objects would also go a long way to improving the feel of the game, bright colors can work but the visual aesthetic is very flat and static, not much is happening asside from player movement, theres lots of room to improve there.

Great job submitting a finished game!

What really stands out to me about this game are the sounds and the music. They are pretty well done in my opinion and make the game a lot more satisfying. I'm not sure why I wanted to break the purple walls, but it was my favorite thing to do. The red guy in the middle is certainly dangerous but I like that you can outrun him by some tricky movement. So a simple and well done entry. Good job!

My score: 2750

Update:

While playing for a higher score, I was spam-clicking the try again button and I managed to get two games going at once! As you can see, the first game died pretty quickly but I was able to play the second one that spawned in! The game also wouldn't let me die after that so I got a pretty high score (though I couldn't see the exact score)

2160 here, a simple but fun little game! I eventually ran out of food and walls and was killed by the red ball. Maybe different textures for daltonics would be a quick thing to add (I'm not daltonic myself, just thought it would be a rather feasible change for a wider audience)

hawkin 2023-10-18 22:21

A very good entry! This was fun to play, and it had a lot of interesting mechanics: the different types of obstacles, two types of moving barriers (the enemy and the closing wall), and a score objective. My only critique is that after I collected the attainable bits within the area, there was nothing to do but sit and wait. Maybe you could continue to spawn them at a faster rate? I should be rewarded for making it to the end :)
