Tried to play but it's mising dependencies - you only uploaded the zip so maybe your engine produces some more build files that you need to zip up with it?

@peremily try it now
Works now, I liked it! I found some levels a little frustrating as it seemed the only way to know where they'd look was trial and error, but i still had fun :)
Cool concept, works well. With a good set of levels and maybe a few more mechanics/enemy types, you'd have a pretty nice lil game to put up for sale.
The game is simple, but fun. The homage to Metal Gear Solid pleased me the most!
Very cool retro aesthetic! I love the CRT screen effect and the simple graphics style too! A clever take on the theme!
This was really nice bro!
I managed to finish the game (complete all levels) and I loved them! image (23).png
There is something in the game that makes it feel addicted, I wish I had an addicting idea like that! I kept playing, trying to memmorize the routines and the patterns I had to follow. And I want more levels now! let me know if you do.
Something I didn't like is that the games ticks automatically if you don't move, but there is not much visual feedback of the turn duration. Sometimes I noticed that I was still thinking about where to go and the game ticked another turn and the enemy saw me. Perhaps it's part of the fun, Idk, but generally speaking, I loved the entry!
Also, I noticed that you used LOVE 2D? If so, it's great!
At first it seemed strange to have the turn move at both once a second and on every move, but the more I played the more tension it added to the levels. I had to have a plan before I started my movement. I think Havin some of the levels be "hot starts" where the starting tile isn't safe felt a wee unfair, but death and retrying are very quick so I didn't really mind it. Great job!
Very good game. I quite like your take with the theme
This was a very original and different concept compared to what I have seen around, which I really appreciated. It was also a lot of fun! :D At first I was a bit annoyed by the sudden movement and turns of the guards, but when I figured out I needed to see it more like a puzzle game, where I figure out what the patterns are and find the a path to get past them, it became a lot more fun! Suddenly these random turns became very enjoying, since you feel smart having predicted them and stepping just one square outside of the range.
Really nice job! I enjoyed this one very much!
I also liked that you used Love2D :D This Ludum Dare I also tried love2D for the first time, and I must say I enjoyed it a lot :) My code really became a mess though >_<
WOW! Much better than I expected!!! **Please** *put* a screenshot... orr a **GIF** - better a GIF - MANY people don't play games they don't have seen, be sure! It's a pleasure for me that I discovered it! That I downloaded it **and** played it!
I will comment more when finished!!! But this has the vibe of *true retro* games - **solid** gameplay, no bullcrap around, just you vs the game. Clear mechanics, direct action. It's awesome! Already one of my favorite entries just after 2 minutes of play!!! : ))
@aweskybear good point, I put some screenshots of the game up. And I'm glad you liked it!
I like what you did to the theme. It's very fitting. And i like the clearness of the graphics!
What a Solid entry!
Seriously the logo was a killer, I love it. The whole homage to the most underrated MGS game felt on point. It felt like a loveletter to the GB/GBC era in many ways. Clear graphics and mechanics, no bloat, interesting challenging stages and very responsible controllers. I rather liked it. I could have easily played twice as many stages. Short and sweet.
Love the retro style and the MGS nod. i like the puzzle sort of aspect to it. i had a lot of fun with this one. Nice Jam!
Really loving this minimalist stealth game ! One gripe I have with it however, is that it's both real time and turn based at the same time, and that may be a bit confusing...
Lizard? Lizard?!?! LIZAARRRRRRD!!!!!!!!! Love it, getting the timing right was tricky as was the rooms with no walls xD Great entry
Stunning game! Clever puzzles in minimalistic design. Plays like a charm. Great job!
Loved gameplay and stylization! Very simple and very effective) I don't usually play stealth games, but yours hooked me so much, I managed to get to the finish :)
This is an amazing game, and the idea reminds me a lot superhot in a weird way. Amazing entry!
Great game! I love stealth games and this one is really great. It might be helpful to have a counter or a signal for the automatic turns. I also thought it can be kinda hard, as it's not easy to anticipate which blocks are in the line of sight of the guards. So some levels have a certain trial and error feel to them. But again, overall I feel this is a great game.
Since this is an obvious MGS parody, I recommend some MGS music while playing.
Nice job!
Great music, with cohesive clear art and sfx.
More importantly, I think you threaded the needle on the difficulty. There was a lot of memorization of moves and special blind squares I had to remember to stand on in certain moments, and there were several times I almost ragequit the game, but the feeling of accomplishment stayed just ahead of the difficulty, and the aesthetics and small levels carried me through the moments where I nearly lost heart.
I ended up playing the whole game, and I thought it was the perfect length. If I could tweak one thing, it would be a slightly-faster restart on death.
Very nicely done.
MGS is my favorite game of all time and in one or two level I was thinking about MGS Vr Training/Mission a lot and this is a good thing.
Good job here.
very cool game, I like the atmosphere as if I am playing in the old castle of Wolfenstein on Atari, I really like the graphics, the gameplay and the idea, continue
