It was fun to build a Satisfactory in my kitchen :)

zui 2023-10-03 19:04

Really like the concept! And the models are abusolutely cute!! I had some trouble finding the train and understanding how to get food. But once getting the idea, it's interesting to build around. It will also be lovly if the scale of the map is smaller and have a clearer goal.See a lot of potential. Well done!

Great idea! I really liked the art, it's amazing what you created in such a short timeframe :)

choo 2023-10-05 12:35

Really pretty game. I did struggle to find the train and figure out what I was doing for a while. Getting the system working was satisfying in the end.

daniel-grinshpon 2023-10-06 03:36

Really impressive that you put this together in roughly a weekend, it's really cool.

nicolasjl9 2023-10-07 03:16

Nice!

Finding the train was really hard and I was lost until I read the comment on this page.

For anyone still struggling:

The trains are behind the potatoes, you need to rotate the camera to find them

I am a huge fan of train, cooking and automation game so this is the perfect entry for me :train: :fries:

I am so frustrated. This looks so good but I can't work out how to get the food :(

fabula-rasa 2023-10-10 22:34

A very cool concept. Both the graphics and the music are really good, and create a cohesive atmosphere. Really impressive amount of content and polish for a jam game!

My only complaint is that there could be more player feedback. For example, I tried to drive a train with potatoes into the pot (to boil potatoes :potato:, of course) and could not. Till now, I have no idea why I could not do that. Some overarching goal would also be nice (earn that and that amount of money, for example), but that's not that necessary.

Overall, it's an impressive jam entry!

It looks good, but I was unable to figure out how to do anything other than place things, really needs a tutorial or written explanation of what to do.

egormnc 2023-10-14 14:32

The game is interesting, it was quite nice to play it, keep working on it and everything will be cool

fatemperor 2023-10-15 14:32

A very beautifully made game. There is also a kitchen management and a train simulator. That's just I honestly tried to figure out how to play and couldn't. It would be great to start tutorial at the beginning.

I found the game incredibly captivating. The concept is truly impressive. Keep up the excellent work, and you'll undoubtedly reach a high level of professionalism

@fatemperor @inventivum-games @fabula-rasa @nzkieran You guys are absolutely right. Next time we will try to include a tutorial or at the very least link a yt video with some example gameplay. Sorry for the inconvenience! Generally speaking: There is a dropoff zone (i.e. a hole in the wall) next to the exit door and a train entrance (i.e. also a hole in the wall) where trains spawn. Every item can be processed along the way by different stations (lead a track through the arrow pointing into the station to initiate processing and a track through the outward arrow to receive the processed items). Anyhow thanks for your feedback :)

My glorious potato soup!

I would genuinely love to see this be brought to a playable state, the idea of an intricate train set weaving around the kitchen automating food is very captivating!

I looked through the comments a bit which made me realize I have to look for the train. I looked around and did find it, and it is incredibly cute. I love how it starts rolling when I place the road, it is just super adorable and looks smooth. I found control pretty smooth and comfortable to use as well. However, when you have time to make after-jam-updates, it would be great to highlight the train in the beginning so the player gets right away where to build from.

The music is nice and upbeat, and graphics look really inviting (I was looking through fun games to play on the last day and this one caught my attention because it looks cozy&cute and I love cooking ^^)

When I started placing the road, the train started going right away and reached the end fast; then, I couldn't continue building in front of it, while new trains started coming and going into each other and disappearing behind my 1st one. cantbuild.jpg

I gave it a 2nd try and realized I ran out of money already while building the road. Even though the 1st try I bought all the appliances AND placed some road pieces, the 2nd time I started with the road right away and couldn't even get it to the nearest box of veggies - money ran out >_<

I managed to create almost a complete road to tomatoes on the 3rd try and started thinking that I am probably doing something very wrong. tomatoroad.jpg

I feel like the concept is really cool and has a lot of potential, but I need a bit of guiding! ^^''

@kanity This is such a sweet review, Thank you so much for trying our game. You are absolutely right. Our game is basically impossible to play without a much needed tutorial and even with us guiding him through every step, @justcamh took 30 minutes 9 different attempts and more determination than any of us ever had to deliver even the first recipe. In this unfinished state, were accidentally clicking a bridge, thus buying it, ruins your whole economy, we should have just given you players unlimited money to play around as much as you liked. Still thanks a lot for trying our game. Everyones comments were a joy to read, there is definitely some motivation to retry this concept in our free time, with better planning and a lot more time.

kanity 2023-10-20 12:42

@heuser sure, let us know if you develop the game further, I would love to try again! (an itch.io page would be nice as well so I could follow you there?) ^^
