Definitely didn't expect a turn-based platformer. A bit too difficult for me, but good job nontheless! It's a very unique idea

Very interesting game ! I like the concept and how it fits the theme perfectly. I have to admit that I'm not very good at this game but it is still fun to play and I like the physics. I'm sure it can be expanded if you want to continue working on this project. I wish you good luck ;)

The game is intresting, but there is a very high inputlag and i was not very sure when each turn ends. But in general is a good idea that is worth working for.

Very much an interesting combination! I figured how it worked mechanically within the first few steps which is good! I liked that some moves have auto follow-ons like the "falling", however sometimes I felt I had to press forward or backwards when in midair, and wasn't able to just fall back to the ground whilst jumping upwards. Maybe I didn't press down to see if that worked, in hindsight. Didn't get through all the levels, as I found the third one quite challenging. To improve, it should be a bit easier for the player to predict the movement / timings of projectiles. Really liked the idea though, you could do speed runs that were based on number of moves and have high score tables for that which would be interesting.

Interesting idea but character movements is unpredictable and slow, need more working on it

peter-jonsson 2018-04-27 06:54

@Animaster, the game is a turn-based platformer, but do you mean that each time step is too slow? I really appreciate the feedback.

animaster 2018-04-27 07:46

@peter-jonsson, yes, after adaptation to gameplay it's hard to wait for every step. Especially in jumps, when you see that you made the wrong choise, but realize that you have a long way ahead

This was challenging, mainly due to the game becoming unintuitive since you're seeing everything in slices of time rather than in realtime.

Cool concept, very challenging!

I agree with what has been said already. The base idea is interesting and I think it shows that it could be a very good mechanic. But it needs a bit more polish. It is too slow to move now. I could not press left while in the air, and you should add a key to let a turn pass without moving (for waiting at the deadly platforms). Great work for a weekend! You should definitely give it some more work!

Great begging, lots of polish and potential :) But I really hate the movement speed, I'm not sure why he moves so slow... If it was up to me I would change the movement speed and added quick-paced levels with lots of challenges

My game has faster movement speed and somewhat polished jumping mechanic And also guns :)) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/sam

Wow, this game is so cool.

I really hope you continue this game, this is such a cool idea. With shooting, and more puzzles, this could be a really awesome game.

Congrats on making this in only 72 hours!
