Pretty interesting realizing I can shoot myself
Hey, I really like your music and this "Hotline Miami" style gameplay.
good game
I really like the way you used the theme. Even though you didn't make more than one game I think "Your Favorite Game" turned out great! The fact that this game is very polished makes it awesome as it is.
I liked this one! The graphics and audio are great and the shooter game is pretty neat as well. Also I was able to access the recycle bin and the contents were pretty good.
I loved the idea of the RAM consumption and the music. It reminded me of Hotline Miami, as well.
Very cool take on the theme! The menu screen was awesome and the game was quite simple but fun. The music was very good and all in all a solid game!
Love how the main menu(?) is literally just a Windows 95 desktop, you really pulled the look and feel of it. Also love how meta this game is, it's a game where yo have to play a game. It helps that the game-in-the-game is also really fun, with good music and really smooth gameplay.
Incredible idea, executed greatly!
Damn that start menu, really really great idea for the menu and the context and great use of the theme! And the music is great too!
Really liked your game!
Concept, audio, mechanics, all great. But I was not able to find the password. -1 star :(
@lastleaf You have to score about 20k to get the password
Cool game, simple but liked the feel. Simple but very good execution. Good job!
@xcvzxc shooting games are too hard for me :(
@xcvzxc Hilariously I made a super similar game! I love the graphics and the windows implementation!
Great game and music! I especially love the design of the menu. Good job!
Very cool game! The music is amazing!
I just wish you could go in fullscreen, or make the window bigger. While trying to shoot, my mouse kept going outside of the window and I would end up minimizing the window, which was pretty frustrating.
Nice job!
@ajayajayaj use F4 to go to fullscreen ;)
ooh thanks :)
The idea and theme is really cool. The gameplay is good. And don't worry about only 1 game. It is okay. 1 completed game > 2-3 unbalanced buggy games. So I think you did a pretty good job. Keep going !
Graphics are superb! Good stuff :)
Very cool game! Definitely brought back memories of fighting with games back in older days (or Minecraft today). I liked the graphics and the menu quite a bit. The music was unintrusive, which is good considering how long I ended up playing this one.
I got a high score of around 15k - didn't unlock the recycle bin but I only have so much time to play games. The memory mechanic was very clever, and worked well. (And made it really challenging!) I didn't run into any major bugs, and the game felt pretty solid.
Thanks for a fun game!
Nice take on the theme! The desktop is super nice, and I love the main idea behind your game.
Not a huge fan of losing your score when you run out of RAM, but I understand why you did that (after all, if your computer crashed, you don't get to keep your score).
I wouldn't have used those green particles effect in the game though, as they don't really go well with the 1-bit aspect of the game overall. Other than that, great job!
Just found out it is pretty easy to cheat your way to the recycle bin by the way, with that beautiful txt file :3 Fun way to use the recycle bin by the way ^^
Your coding skill are really bad if you waste 512Mo of RAM that fast. :) You could have gone with 16Mo to fit the Win95 style. I found that it's hard to focus on both the game and the ram situation at the same time. Having ingame problems to illustrate the lack of ram (slow down, graphics glitches, text disappearing... ) would have been more playable than having to read a ram counter at the top.
