That was great! Loved the idea and execution of the theme. Like the simple graphics too

aviv871 2018-08-12 21:09

Gread work! I like the simple graphics, they are very nice. The idea of the game is pretty great and cool. The mechnics are a bit confusin, but it is challanging this way.

coley 2018-08-13 00:35

LOVE IT! As always, wp gaaaabe :)

terracottafrog 2018-08-13 02:06

Love it! I was excited for this one since I first saw the gif, and it lived up to the hype. It feels really polished visually and the level design is a lot of fun.

I wish it had some music, since I feel that would have tied the whole mood together, but its still really great.

The controls also felt a little bit weird at first, although I don't know how that could be fixed for something like this.

The biggest thing to add would probably be a timer for score. This is the perfect game for learning how to execute everything with perfect precision, and a timer would be a great way to reward that.

Overall, awesome entry!

stellary 2018-08-13 02:38

Great idea! And the graphic is simple but polished. But I found the control is annoying.I must think before push buttons or I wall Spin to wrong direction.

undefinist 2018-08-13 05:28

I liked it! Really fun! Simple mechanics, but well executed. Personally, I didn't like how confusing left/right was.

gaoyuan-chen 2018-08-13 05:35

Very cool idea of the puzzle, simple but fun to play.

Only thing I don't like is the control: you need to remember which key is clock-wise otherwise you may push the wrong key and die. I think we can improve it to use Up/Down/Left/Right and map it to clock-wise and counter clock-wise depends on your current position. (So when you are at the top region, left will map to counter-clock-wise)

Very polished feeling, the little screen shake on a jump is really good. I found it a little hard to tell where exactly I was going to land after a jump though, maybe a line across would be nice. It could just be my awful lack of spatial awareness though.

cassowary 2018-08-13 05:42

I had a good time with this one. I also found left/right a little confusing because I think I wanted them to rotate the ball relative to the center, but they moved it relative to the edge of the circle instead, so it felt backwards.

Some background music would be nice, but I thought the sound effects perfectly complemented the graphic design.

The design felt really polished and nice. I liked the animations that added a little bounce to everything.

valden 2018-08-13 11:56

Well polished game. I really like the concept, but controls are very confusing and it makes the game very stressful.

Good job overall !

drunkardwolf 2018-08-13 14:11

Super polished, great work. Controls to move the character where a bit confusing though, might have been better if the world rotated clockwise and anticlockwise, with the player staying in one place as I found myself moving in the wrong direction A LOT. Great work though, keep it up :)

mariosmaniatis 2018-08-13 19:18

Awesome!

katuiche 2018-08-13 23:57

Very well made, the first one i didn't found any bugs.

joemag 2018-08-14 00:42

Really cool looking and fun. I don't really love the controls though, I always felt like I was getting it wrong and those deaths felt bad. Feel like it should go in the direction you're entering rather than a rotation. Great work though on the concept!

agsilverag 2018-08-14 00:52

Good shit gabe. The movement/spikehitboxes are a bit unforgiving, but its quite fun otherwise, and impressive that you did this drunk

puebebe 2018-08-14 01:46

Like @gaoyuan-chen said, controls sometimes are bit confusing.

Unfortunately, most levels have the same issue, namely, because of particle collapsing you can complete level without moving, just reaching unnecessary electrons by your size.

However, it is interesting puzzle game. Overall it is great game ;)

mistersdevelopment 2018-08-14 02:36

Really liked this. Very cool, imaginative puzzler.

alex-adedge 2018-08-14 07:32

Good stuff, minimalistic and juicy! I was a bit confused by the controls too, but not sure how youd go about fixing that - except perhaps by making the entire level rotate to have a common perspective.

sebastianscaini 2018-08-14 16:03

Woah nice one Gabe! It had really fun and interesting gameplay, and you're a heck of a level designer! All in all I loved it!!

chrissx2 2018-08-14 18:49

Great idea! I love the simplistic gfx and smooth animations.

gil4 2018-08-14 20:00

Awesome idea! Had a similar one years back as a mobile game, called it Pi Jump, but it was endless, not level-based. :P The sounds are fitting and the art is as good as it gets with minimalistic style, really suits the game. The levels were fun as well. Great job!

ajayajayaj 2018-08-14 20:26

Very cool game. For some reason the controls kept confusing me, I always ended up moving in the wrong direction. Maybe making the circle rotate with the player's position could help solve this.

avavt 2018-08-15 11:30

Hey there!

The game is cool. I like how I was able to jump into the action immediately with minimal instruction.

On the other hand, I feel the control is a bit frustrating because of the constant direction flip. Because the jumps usually involve positions close to a spike, I always mispress and die. This part is not cool.

I strongly believe that control should empower player to express themselves, not hinder them.

For this game, I think instead of controlling the electron, maybe you should change the control to rotate the game world instead? Because the orbit doesn't jump, control won't be flipped and would feel consistent.

Also, I would love to have a point of reference at the center of the circle. Currently, it's very hard to determine exactly where the electron would jump to on the other side :D

kciwsolb 2018-08-15 15:11

Game is really great. I would love to play more of it, but it became too difficult to control the movement precisely in the later levels. If you add analog joystick and or mouse controls for the movement to the post jam version that would totally fix the controls issue, and I would play a lot more of it! :D

arc1llusion 2018-08-15 15:27

I really liked this but gosh dang am I bad at determining which direction to go. One of my favorites of the jam, awesome job.

namnam 2018-08-15 15:33

Nice game, the concept is great, the minimalist graphics are perfect for this kind of game aesthetic and readable. Just miss a music background. Would be an amazing mobile game.

dankar 2018-08-15 15:57

Really cool idea! But as others have pointed out it can get hard to know which direction to move. It might be easier to control with the mouse, gamepad or on a touchscreen. But I like the simple design and overall "feel" of the game! Good job!

shell-pirate 2018-08-16 05:51

This was a good entry. I think the simple graphics and sound worked and gave the game a clean, slick look and feel which is fitting for the genre. Some music would really add, of course, but it's a gamejam entry so what can you do. The core mechanic has potential and I think for the most part you executed it well. The only issue is the confusing directions when moving. I feel you could either make player movement consistent rather than based on stage rotation, or if you keep the stage rotation make it so the stage visually rotates around the player so that it's clear and easy to grasp which direction you will end up moving in. Overall though, good work!

bracula 2018-08-16 10:11

I really, really like this one. It's simple and clean, and it feels really good. My only gripe is the directional thing, but I know lots of radial games that have this same issue, and there's no real good solution to it.

powlow-paolo 2018-08-16 14:24

Great job! I thought this was a take on a game called Atomas at first, but it's very different. You hit the theme and the progression is good. I kept getting confused with the controls, I'm just glad each level restarts and not back to the very beginning!

randomphantom 2018-08-18 11:59

Great minimalist aesthetic and tight gameplay. I guess the controls are a tad confusing but that's part of the challenge!

del-nordlund 2018-08-25 02:28

sweet game bro!!!

Nice graphics, cool game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/WOSoM8jnjZc
