That was funny! Not that much fun though.

You see the world is most certainly **not** small enough. It is trivial to stay away from the planet muncher. Even colliding with other planets is very rare. As such I managed to complete all the difficulty levels on the first try. Having a smaller level would make this much more challenging, i.e fun.

The idea, presentation and humor are top grade gravy, so points for that!

Cool stuff, but indeed a bit too easy. Could be an awesome minigame if you balance it right. Like the idea, it looks good, so good job overall.

geeitsomelaldy 2017-05-01 10:56

Great game, but could do with some guidance as to where the nearest star is. Had trouble at the end trying to find the last one, even with 5 stars remaining.

skullpixel 2017-05-01 11:22

This is quite the bizarre game. :) There's something oddly amusing about how all the little planets will suddenly just zip around for no apparent reason. Congratulations on your entry!

zondarg 2017-05-01 13:27

Hey, thats fun :) bit like a reversed pac man where the dots run away, but I like the idea. Music and sound effects are nice. Good job, really!

multiplexor 2017-05-01 18:55

Neat! Cool concept!

The game is easy but still very enjoyable, specially the music and audio effects (music is awesome and dialogues and effects hilarious).

I like the way the movement works and the fact that the universe is looped. Maybe more monsters or less planets would make it more challenging!

Keep up the good work!

ajayajayaj 2017-05-01 20:51

I really like the music, and the voices. I liked the ways it controlled (makes it kind of difficult), but I don't like the background. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be like that, but for me it really hurts my eyes. It made it very annoying after playing for a while.

The collecting stars mechanism is really nice, and I like how when you get stopped, you can be easily caught, but I kind of wish there were some way to know where the stars might be. On hard, some of the stars are hard to find, but I think this is just part of the challenge.

And I agree with @multiplexor , I think maybe a second monster would add a cool challenge to the mix (but probably wouldn't work with the storyline)

And for the controls, WASD support would be nice.

Overall, I really like this game. With the nice music and humourous voice track/storyline, the game is fun to play. There were just a few things I didn't like, and other than that, totally solid game!

Very interesting idea, loved the intro and voice overs! The game was a little on the easy side, and the acceleration of the earth was a bit much and caused a little bit of frustration. Nice job though.

Hey all, I'm somewhat planning on making a Post Mortem for this game, but I got sidetracked making casual improvements on it.

@huvaakoodia I spent a lot of time trying to find the right size for the gameplay area. I couldn't find anything I was happy with. Originally there were very few planets(around 20) and the game seemed bland. When I threw the number up to 100, I realized they all had to have "personalities" or AI to appear to do things. Once I started working on that, I got use to the feel and didn't fix the actual size issue.

@mathijsvissers Thanks. My previous games problems were always being too difficult. I went too far in the opposite direction this time.

@geeitsomelaldy That was planned, I couldn't find an easy way to do it within the time we had. Some of the planets run towards and attempt to form a circle around the stars. Of course 1001 ideas on how to make that work better happened post jam.

@skullpixel There's 3 different patterns that the planets can do, the fourth which I don't count is sit there and do nothing. The some planets just run from point A to point B and stand there for a second. Some planets run towards the black hole/planet muncher to tease it. The third type run towards and attempt to form a circle with any stars that remain.

@zondarg Thanks :)

@multiplexor Thanks... this is @cheldav's first video game. She did the audio for this (Except when I voiced the black hole)

@ajayajayaj It's not just you with the background issue. It was suppose to look like a star field, but I couldn't find anything I was happy with. During development I had a flat color and it made the perception of movement impossible. 5 planets all heading in the same direction as you and you couldn't tell anything was happening. The current background and a slight sliding problem when you're suppose to stop moving is headache fuel.

And I accidentally removed WASD during development. Didn't realize it until you pointed it out.

@gamechoy Movement issues are made greater due to Unity not completely killing velocity when I tell it to. So, everyone has a slight drag when they stop pressing the movement key.

Thanks for all of your feedback everyone!

Loved the intro, but the controls were a bit slippery and hard to control. I also would have liked to be able to turn the camera around. I thought the music was fitting, however.

porcus-pie 2017-05-08 07:05

Nice game. The audio was pretty good, and the visuals, whilst simplistic, were decent. The game was a bit too easy for my liking however, and I felt the world was a bit to big to really get a panicked feel or a feeling of tension what so ever. I did also notice once that the world eater got stuck and just started spinning in circles on top of a planet. The game also felt really slippery, and I would consistantly bump into planets. Other than that, good work. And nice job with the intro sequence

mewsoul 2017-05-09 19:34

Interesting game, the intro is definitively a cool idea!

One thing that was a bit hard were the controls, because you're small and you go fast but you have to aim precisely to collect the stars. Another point that was a bit frustrating is that you can't really go down because you can't see where you are going and the risk to die is quite high.

And from what I read in the other comments, the controls with the arrow keys is nice because many games made for the LD support WASD, and for AZERTY keyboard that's nicer to have arrows at least ^^

mwcz 2017-05-11 01:17

This was a nice game, I really like the intro cut scene, it was hilarious! The idea for the game is nice. The graphics could be a little better, but I know 3d is hard.

mikolak 2017-05-14 17:31

I agree with the other commenter's that the game was too easy due to the huge playing area. Otherwise, I enjoyed it, and having a proper intro sequence is a rarity for LD, so congrats on that!

fueelin 2017-05-15 06:26

Really nice mood/graphics/voice acting. Compelling because of those elements, but agree with others' comments about the controls. Too floaty/slippery to be able to move confidently.

camilovr 2017-05-17 09:46

Very cool music and fun enemy. I think it would be great for gameplay if you could rotate a camera with your mouse and maybe show a map on HUD from time to time. Congratulations

comatomatoes 2017-05-18 02:36

I enjoyed the introduction and the encouraging audio messages that get played when you collect stars. I didn't quite like the feel of the controls. It felt hard to get the planet to do what I wanted sometimes. The grainy background felt a bit strange. One alternative might be a cloudy nebula sort of look. It's a shame that the black hole was such a fun character, but the player generally doesn't interact with him during the game. =)

gama-croma 2017-05-18 14:37

liked that there are dangers like hitting another planet slowing you down, possibly letting the monster get closer

taylod05 2017-05-18 18:22

Loved the music and sound effects. very loose controls and the difficulty wasn't ever really apparent other than collecting more stars.
