LD38 — A Small World

Hopper by Porcus_Pie 2017-05-18T06:58:18Z

Love the cute little character, love the sound effects, and really enjoyed the way the game played. I wish there had been some in game instructions and that I could have changed the size of the window- I was a little distracted by being able to see my desktop around the edges. Easily one of my favorite games I've played!

It's a Small World, So Let's Crash It into Things by simonhutchinson 2017-05-02T05:39:16Z

This could keep me entertained for hours, hands down. There's a definite feeling of satisfaction in growing larger through bumping into the other planets. After I got a little better at the game it might have been fun to have the dark star follow me a little faster and closer, but that's all I can think of. Awesome game!

Cat In the Box by Tuuga 2017-05-17T06:26:55Z

I've never seen anything quite like this before, I absolutely loved it! I had some trouble with being able to swat at the things coming into the box, but that's probably my lack of hand eye coordination than anything else. I really liked the sound effects and the fact that you had an option to tone down the mouse sensitivity.

Rocket Roller Space Polo by pkenney 2017-05-08T02:46:02Z

Very creative! Love the concept and the execution! I had some trouble figuring it out without many instructions at the beginning, but once I figured it out I had a blast.

My Precious Orbit by SwiftIllusion 2017-05-08T05:55:23Z

How beautiful! Graphics are especially wonderful, and I've never seen anything quite like the the controls before. I had a little trouble figuring out how to move despite the instructions just because I'm a comparatively new gamer but when I figured it out I really got into the game.

Snowglobe by Wati888 2017-05-08T02:56:04Z

I love this game! Creative, fun and not hard to figure out. Probably my favorite game I'm checked out so far! I can see myself easily falling into this game for hours.

Bubblenaut by TheFunAttic 2017-05-17T06:48:50Z

Wow, your game is amazing! I was expecting to play a couple levels and move on but I got super emotionally invested in making it all the way to the end. My partner had his headphones on and was working on something else but he took them off and turned around because I kept yelling at the screen every time I accidentally hit the thorns. I love this game, incredibly well done!

LD39 — Running out of Power

Achluophobia by Ajayajayaj 2017-08-07T05:54:06Z

Love the game! The music really suits the mood and the characters were adorable. I also like that the controls were easy and I love that there was a web option.

Planet Nanadoo: Quest for the Powered Fruit by MrTroy 2017-08-07T07:11:17Z

@foxor and @pilly, the countdown to resolution began upon finding the beacon which was in a random location out in the dark. We realized after the fact that it wasn't clear in the instructions how to find it, but there was a locator that pointed in the direction of the beacon. @sumgamstudio, thanks, and you make a good point- our programmer is working on putting an auto aim feature into our post jam version because most people had trouble with that. @pilly thanks for the input, your detailed explanations of your likes and dislikes give us something to work on for future versions of the game so we value your specificity. @jason-kennedy, we elected not to release any other formats of the game due to the time constraints but we might consider doing an html version on a future game, we just didn't think it would work well for this one.

INVISIBRO by FisherGoodwin 2017-08-12T05:13:37Z

Wow, this game is amazing! I'm not very good at it, but that just means I keep trying to win. I'm impressed by the graphics, the game play, the sheer creativity of the game, everything! Really the only thing that could have added to the experience would be music but I don't feel like it's less in any way for not having music, it's too awesome!

Your Friend Is Lost In The Woods by pilly 2017-08-07T06:52:24Z

Wow! I can't remember the last time I had so much trouble solving a puzzle! Every dead end was heart breaking (or infuriating) and so many of the text messages made me smile. Such a well made game! I had a blast playing and absolutely refused to stop until I found my friend!!

Charge! by dragonxvi 2017-08-12T04:51:34Z

Amazing work especially for such a short time frame. Love the graphics, I enjoyed the simplicity of the controls. I got super hyped up when I killed my first antagonist, but I might have liked a bit more instruction since I really didn't understand what to do with the equipment or what all I was looking at. Over all a delightful game!

LD45 — Start with nothing

Formless by Shugor 2019-10-08T04:49:59Z

I absolutely love this game! The music is delightful, the graphics adorable, and the whole thing well thought out.

Sweet Nothing by Kellmen 2019-10-08T06:16:25Z

I. Love. This. Game. So. Much! The idea is fascinating, the gameplay easy enough for even me to pick up without too much trouble. The music is happy and energetic which suits the premise quite well. And the commentary was a hoot! I literally keeled over after some of the comments, they surprised such a hard laugh out of me. I would LOVE to see a full length version of this game. My only suggestion would be to take a look at length of time between when the player dies and when the screen recenters itself on the starting point. I kept placing blocks either way out of reach or too close to the starting point because I'd start placing blocks as soon as the screen looked and felt like it was recentered, yet invariably in the beginning the screen would move once more and throw my alignment off. There *may* be an issue with laying the blocks and how that affects the little dude- I noticed a couple times when I thought the little dude moved a bit when I laid down a block, because one second I was fine and the next I'd fallen even though my fingers weren't on the keys, but if y'all can't recreate that then maybe I imagined it, or my hands were too shaky. I am 100% in love with this game and I'm looking forward to more interesting games from this group!

LD59 — Signal

Tiny Signal Lost by Strega 2026-04-22T06:14:23Z

I LOVE this game!! It was intuitive, it let me change the buttons to a setup my brain liked better (I ended up changing to the arrow keys for left, right, and jump), the graphics are adorable, and the sound effects were cute. The physics felt good and made sense to me and I enjoyed all the little visual nuances to each stage. I guess the only thing I would want to see is maybe something (not sure what specifically that would look like, but in the game Bluma on Steam a side character gives you obscure hints to help you figure out the basics of the puzzles, which has been really helpful for me) to help me understand what I was doing wrong that I couldn't make it to the next level. I really wanted to see more, I just got stumped- but that's on me, not the game design. WOW did I love this game, it was excellently made!!

Echo Ops #LD59 by nicardo 2026-04-22T05:37:25Z

Really my only dislike was that it wasn't intuitive. I liked the mellowness of the music- it allowed me to pay attention to what I was doing as I moved around the board, but it helped with immersion. I also really like the fact that sending out the signal changed that portion of the screen to different colors, as well as the seamless way the color just faded back out once the signal had ended. Definitely well made and I enjoyed myself even if I didn't fully understand what was going on, and I say that as a compliment because there are games I fully understand that I've had far less fun playing. Well done.

Mixed Signals by ChelDav 2026-04-24T06:09:05Z

@Enriranjan Thank you!! It was an incredibly satisfying experience and motivates me to attempt something slightly longer next time!

@Luumi Good insight, thank you! The article I spent the most time reading in preparation mostly focused on the way the game being discussed had decided on their art styles, so that's what I was thinking of with the descriptions, but I really like your suggestion about leaving the aesthetics to the player's imagination. I *LOVE* your idea about making it a mystery and I'll probably give that a shot in the future, so thank you very much!

@Zoldanka You are clearly my target audience with this one so I really appreciate your input! And I agree with you on the gender thing- I hesitated to include any sort of gendering since it felt limiting to the characters, but I ended up gendering the characters anyway since my brain was still caught up in writing descriptions. I'll definitely keep this in mind for my next project, thank you!

Square Hole by Kazuren 2026-04-25T05:00:43Z

I LOVE THIS GAME! I was smiling from ear to ear by the time the first cube fell. I absolutely suck at the game, but I still had so much fun! You nailed humor for sure, this is the only 5 I've given in humor, and I love that the points system focuses on what percentage of the falling shape you catch- I didn't notice that until I started reading comments, but as soon as that clicked for me it made the game even more fun since it wasn't a typical all-or-nothing strategy for giving points. Well made! Only recommendation would be to better set the player up for playing the game- either more well spelled out instructions or an explanation of goal and process. This game rocks!

Compulse. by Syrup Plushie 2026-04-22T05:51:31Z

Love the art style and REALLY love the music! Unfortunately I've never seen a game even remotely like this before so I couldn't logic out how to actually make the signal work. The concept is fascinating and new (to me), but I needed either a tutorial or more dumbed down set of instructions that spelled out what I was supposed to do step by step. Cool game!

Space Narwhal's Impeccable Directions by Aster24 2026-04-25T04:36:19Z

I had a blast even though I couldn't figure out how to successfully dock any of the ships. I really liked the audio, it set an enjoyable mood, and the moth ships were gorgeous! Also got a good laugh about a narwhal in space, lol. I love the creativity of having moths dock in webs and sharks at beaches, and honestly the whole game felt really good to play- EVEN without fully understanding what I was supposed to do. I'd definitely recommend making the controls a little more manageable (I didn't grow up a gamer, so I don't have the muscle memory a lot of gamers have, so the whole using letter keys and whatnot threw me for a loop), at least for gaming noobs like me. Good feeling game, just needs more fool-proof instructions or maybe even a mini tutorial.

shift-0 by nikitose 2026-04-24T05:53:23Z

Pretty immersive which I love in games. I honestly have no clue what the win condition is, or even if it has one, but I was fascinated by the way the colors played out on the screen. The audio effects suit the game nicely and I liked that the game style was something I'd never seen before. But... Since it is unlike anything I've ever seen before I could use a LOT more instruction, maybe even a brief tutorial to give the player a better understanding of what they're supposed to do. I may not have understood what was going on but I did enjoy the experience. This is a game I'd come back and play again if I understood it better, so I hope you keep working on this one!

Signal Path by Caelestial 2026-04-25T19:46:13Z

Art style was adorable and I love small puzzle games so this was exactly my kind of game. I don't know if the commands weren't working or if I was just misunderstanding what I was supposed to do, but all I could produce was the "move up" command over and over no matter what I tried. If it's a glitch, that's pretty self explanatory, but if it's a case of my not understanding then you may need to explain the different types of specific movement inputs more explicitly in your instructions- like, idiot-proof it for newer gamers like me, lol. It has a lot of potential and I'm impressed by what you got done during the jam! This is really good!

Juxtaopposition by Strainer 2026-04-24T05:19:35Z

I was very confused when I opened the document. I mean, this is a format I haven't seen in a Ludum Dare submission before so I give props for doing something unexpected. But please, for the love of all that is good and true PLEASE use capital letters to start sentences and CAPITALIZE I when speaking in first person. *Shudders*
