@Ajayajayaj Thank you, got it fixed. Was having a hard time with the site and still being brain dead after the jam.

@michael-wingfield You are correct, the store doesn't work yet.(sorry was in a rush submitting so I missed a bunch of notes for our players) Thank you for letting us know about level errors(it is the only level). We had a very creative team(and kept getting bit by the scope monster), we are glad you liked it.
@blueblu Sorry, we should have said in the info blog that upgrades had to be cut out for jam due to time constraints.
You can post screenshots in the post
Maybe I was doing it wrong, but I never figured out how to buy stuff in the shop. So after a while of flying around and picking up stuff and dropping it off, it started to get boring. Would have liked to see what the different upgrades did or what the hats looked like. Also, there is an invisible platform in the bottom left of the map (the first map if there are more). I thought the audio design was cute and I really liked the little blips of text that would pop out of the items as you picked them up. Loved the Rick and Morty references.
umm not sure if i can get upgrades or not but it plays smoothly!
Good game, but there was some lag every time I Picked up an Item and also the music was a Littel bit too loud.
Nice game I hope you're gonna continue to add more features but it's pretty cool already
Graphism is definitly a strong point in this game, it's really nice to move in this background. Tere is a problem in the ui when you scroll through buttons, you need to wait longer before scrolling automatically while the button is pressed.
It's a very neat game, good job guys !
Same here, I could not buy anything either. The graphics are really nice and the flying around quite smooth. The tractor beam is fun to play with. Good job! I hope you will add the missing features later!
I'm very impressed by the level of polish on this game. The animation, the background parallax, the sprite work on all the objects, the gui, the sound design, everything was as polished as I would expect out of a fully released game, let alone a game jam game.
The gameplay, however, seemed a bit lacking. Outside of seeing the little blurbs on pickup, the game doesn't offer any intrigue on play. Furthermore, I couldn't purchase things from the shop.
Overall, I'd still recommend playing the game to experience the level of polish it has.
Incredible graphics, smooth gameplay, some great humour, and a nice soundtrack to round it off. Only thing I'm not too sure about is how it relates to the theme, but a really solid entry regardless. Going to save this one and come back to play it again.
Cute game! I really liked the art and music! I too wasn't sure if the shop worked or not which is sad cause I wanted a hat!
We both kinda did the same thing with the theme except you went to space with it haha
Best entry so far. The controls feel really polished and so are the graphics. Did not get the deal with the shop though. It does not seem to work. ^^ Wel done! :smiley:
@gerox Thank you. Yes, we have some optimizing to do. Music was put in minutes before build so we didn't get time to balance them. We're sorry about your ears...WE SAID WE'RE SORRY! ;p
@stabalarash Thank you. We have a ton of ideas involving other worlds and story lines. So stay tuned.
@anstabo Thank you, Zack worked his magic. We will get the UI tuned up. We had a lot of fun making it and only had to pull one all nighter.
@corbak Yes, sorry for not letting you guys know the store ended up getting chopped and we didn't have time to remove it from the UI. Thank you Zack got it working nicely. We had some puzzles and other actions planned for the tractor beam. We are still working on it. Thank you for playing.
@guin36 Thank you, for your feedback. We had to cut a lot and didn't get to tune as much as we wanted. The next version will have much more to do. Glad you liked it.
@historymaker118 Thank you. We have even more to add. We wrote over 40 lines of dialog just for the overlord, can't wait to add it. The story was more about the theme than the gameplay. Because we didn't have time to finish adding the upgrades the ufo started with the 6 slots and we didn't get to include the puzzles that would have reinforced the theme...
We will have something for you to come back for. Thank you
Great Job! You were able to get A LOT of nice content into this Ludum Dare! I'm impressed with how many funny objects you were able to complete across Art, audio, text and programming. Also, apart from a few frame jumps, I really enjoyed the space ship controls! Well done :D
@drell Thank you. Loved your art style too. Sorry, didn't work and didn't have time to remove it from the UI. Here's a Hat for you CatInTheHatRot.png
@frittatenbank Wow, thank you. Sorry Shop didn't make the cut. We're sorry we didn't get it finished. Thanks again.
@ratherjolly Thank you. We still have a ton of stuff to add too. Glad you liked it and we'll get those frame issues figured out. TopHat.png
The shop would have added a completely extra layer of complexity! But understandable, good job nevertheless. Really cool. Graphics are nice, games feels polished, controls are smooth. No issues on the HTML5 version at all. Nice take on collecting a required shopping list. My only not-so-enjoyable part, and this is a subjective matter, is the choice of music. SFX and all was really great though.
Great work! Fun concept, cool art/sound/music!
The game's functionality is really well done, but there seems to be no real goal apart from just collecting things-which doesn't seem to do anything. Is it because of the lack of time?
Sensational work mainly on the graphic and sound part, good job for all the team involved in this game!
Hope you explore this idea even more in the future has a lot of potential!
@alej Yes it would have, we just couldn't get it working in time. Glad you liked it. We are working on adding more soundtracks in the post jam version.
@jeffrimko Thank you. You should have stopped by to remind us that our scope was out of control.
@veilastrum Thank you. Yeah we have a ton of content we didn't have time to put in.
@ganonwarrior Thank you, it was a very fun jam. We are continuing development.
Looks really good, and I liked that there were portraits of the different characters. Beam animation felt nice. Time management is always the bane of my LD experience, too!
L O V E your game! The best looking one of all I've seen! Fun to play, sounds nice! I would reeeeeeally love to see those "more features" you wrote about in this game, but only to kinda really play it for a longer time. It's still good for a jam, thank you ^^
Graphics are great and its really polished but i dont really know what objective there is :) Also there is probably some invisible collider left in the level because sometimes i couldnt move for no reason

nice job! the art was great, audio to the fun vibe of the game. i enjoyed this take on the concept. wasnt sure what to do aside from just pick up and unload things, but i enjoyed doing that
Great game!Masterpiece!Rate our game too! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/cubi-cat

Sweet Game! The graphics and controls were nice... tho I would prefer to use my right hand to control a ship. Not sure why my arrow keys didn't work. The attention to detail and the variety of items to pick up was really entertaining. Thanks!!
Probably the best game I've seen on LD42 so far.
Hey awesome game ! Really like the graphics ! I think you should continue the game after and add missions it could be very cool ! kok.JPG
Take a look to our game ! : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/uninstall-1
@afroant Yeah, we had over 60 lines of dialog/story that we didn't have time to add. We always get carried away.
@tutaratuta Thank you. We are still working on it. We have to fix some of the bugs before we can add more features but they are coming.
@halomegames Yeah, unfortunately you can't buy anything or do upgrades but you can gather things on your list(open list with "I" or "E" depending on layout) and cash them in. Thank you for reporting the invisible walls. If its the one reported by @michael-wingfield, its in the lower left corner.
@haberworks That's all we had time to implement for the jam. Have puzzles, upgrades, hats, dialog, and story plans.
@victor-c Wow, Thank you so much. Will do
Excellent work ! I loved the aesthetics and the level of polish above all, but even the gameplay loop was fun and addictive !
Pros : - Beautiful visuals, with pixel art so crisp it brought me true joy - Great music, with several tracks depending on the situation - Great polish overall : I did not encountered a single collision bug, and the ship handles perfectly - The humor and the easter eggs are on point
Cons : - The loop gets a little shallow after a while, since I did not encountered any additional challenge - Are upgrades available ? Did I miss something ?
Overall, great job ! Keep it up ;)
@webthingee In the Options menu("ESC" to open) there is another key layout under options.
@nnnikki Wow, Thank you.
@deadeyejoe02 Wow, thanks for the love.
Nice little game here. It is neat and polished. it needs the upgrades and more challenge but you have shown a good idea

@tontonpizza Thank you. Agreed.
@corbak Sorry we couldn't get as many core features added as we would have liked! We're glad you enjoyed the game though! We're already working on making a full version of the game, so I you want to get updates be sure to follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/coalcreekgd
@jlv Thank you for the break down list. Yeah, ran out of time. You got it all.
@guin36 Thank you for the recommendation! There are a ton of features we planned to have, but like most Jam projects we had a scope of epic proportions lol. I personally feel that you will really enjoy the game once the core functionality has been implemented. If you want to try it, follow us on Twitter and get updates: https://twitter.com/coalcreekgd
@tontonpizza We're currently working on getting the game up to snuff! If you want to follow our progress and play updated versions, follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/coalcreekgd
@coal-creek-game-devs Nice try. the visuals look great and the music. the inputs are a little buggy and the store couldn't work
@abhis1kadian Thanks! We definitely had a huge scope in mind. We're still working on it though, so if you'd like to play newer versions follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/coalcreekgd
@coal-creek-game-devs Definitely I want to play. Please try and rate mine too.
Really liked the graphics, controls seemed a little buggy (everything freezes if you hold in space too long) but the game looks cute as heck.
That tractor beam was a nice gameplay and story concept. Shame the other features were unfinished.
Just to clarify, currently we can only gather then sell the cargo on the mothership, is that right?
@quarter-up-studios We're glad you liked the graphics! Zack worked himself to the bone perfecting the details. The controls are definitely a work in progress. The game has some pretty complex systems, so future versions will have some of those annoying problems ironed out. If you want to keep up to date on our progress, follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/coalcreekgd
@vekstr That's correct! We're working on a post jam version that will have a bunch of levels and tons of features! Follow us on Twitter for updates! ^_^ https://twitter.com/coalcreekgd
@coal-creek-game-devs Cool!
That was a really ambitious scope for a LD and it sort of hurt you a bit in the end :wink: But what you managed to get in is still impressive. Some things I would consider:
* The task list, since it updates each return to shop it be good if it showed itself for a few seconds when leaving mothership * If each item being returned indiviually gave a visual feedback of its worth and if there was a bonus for completing the task list, that it show too.
The flying was mostly smooth, but perhaps it would have been more fun if the craft lowered itself slowly unless up was pressed, making it a bit harder to keep a vertical level. The vertical speeds were also a bit to fast I think.
@local-minimum Yeah we kinda shot ourselves in the collective foot :) The idea of having the list automatically display is a good one, I'm going to relay that to Zack! Showing the scores is also a pretty good idea, and we do in fact have a bonus system we're attempting to implement. The flying speed was never corrected, as we were testing the game at full flight speed and never toned it down. Your ideas would add another layer of depth to the gameplay, and it something we're definitely going to discuss! We appreciate your thorough feedback and hope that you'll keep an eye out for our full release of the game! Follow us on Twitter for updates! https://twitter.com/coalcreekgd (Alex from CCGD)
Beautiful game - I really like the pixel art and the game goes well with it! I liked the different items to beam up and it felt polished! I didn't find myself playing it for too long because I got a bit motion sick (problem for me with scrolling games unfortunately). Big thumbs of for you game though - nice!
Coooo! nice game :thumbsup: +++++
