You don't need to host your own server. We're hosting one during the dare. Just run the client without any modification of the jar file, and you'll automatically connect to our server.
The server is not working
Is it offline?
It did before but it was lagging so I closed and reopened and now it is broken.
It is working now thanks
Well, I just restarted it; so you shouldn't have any issues now.
If for some reason the server happens to be down, just run the server on your own machine and connect the client to "localhost" (change config/serversettings.txt in the jar file; you can open it using winrar or 7zip).
Hi there! I think is my poor connection but the game is lagging a lot :S. It's ironic because we made a game called Lagman for the JAM xD.
The game seems good to me but I think it's not very original based on the theme.
I'm going to look beyond the terrible frame rate and bugs and say that this could be a pretty fun game. The game kept showing me the respawn text even though I was still alive. I realised pretty quickly that there's no incentive to do anything but hold the shoot button down.
It's definitely very hectic and confusing when you get thrown in. I didn't know what was going on for a while.
Nice :) Looks and feels pretty good. Singleplayer would be nice!
Awesome! I played a little while on your server and it was fun, but the lag was causing me to glitch about. Couldn't get my own server to work, so now I am just jamming to the music in the background
The frame rate shouldn't be too low -- the bigger issue is network updates. My Internet sorta sucks, and the client doesn't get updates fast enough. That's why stuff teleports around a lot.
It's those annoying little follower enemies that make the game laggy. We've serious issues with UDP packet loss because of them. Hopefully I can push out a bugfix once I finish up some of my other work.
Game wasn't working for me...
Currently I'm unable to connect. It would be great to do so, though, it looks like a sweet game! I also really like the idea of it alternating between FFA and coop mode.
Networking: Client initialized
Networking: Client failed to bind to port
Unable to connect to: /99.58.104.35:21234
I run the client, but it crashes within seconds.
Slick, like the minimalism
Alright, not bad. Just a note tho, multiplayer is pretty rare on ludum dare and most people dont have time to host a server
