Your game looks really nice... Great mood, and the theme is there. Although, I did find a few bugs that didn't let me progress like not being able to talk to some people in seats. Great job.
This was very fun and creative. Only issue is that the key presses sometimes get hidden behind the other sprites on the screen.
This is weird. And great. I did enjoy this quite a lot.
Omg I feel like this is exactly like when I used to talk to strangers as a kid :o:
Anyways, I did find some bugs actually when you put the popcorn on the seat when they are on their way to the seat, then they sorta seem stuck.
Else, great graphics and mood! Well done. :)
really like the keys to talk mechanic very funny and cute art style overall great game note - I think theres a bug (at least in the mac build) where you can't talk to people after failing the game once
Cute character design! Loved the cheesy movie talk in the background. Good voice acting. The quick time event with the talking didn't really seem to vary much. I think I started memorising it by the time I stopped playing. Great game, still.
oh, this is my favorite one so far. That's exactly how I feel about talking to ppl...
I like how you show doing simple tasks can be a struggle when you have social anxiety. lovely characater. beside the unavoidable and obvious few bugs you are probably aware of, the game is close to perfect.
I've been avoiding non web based games all evening, but your graphics made me do it. Great game.
It deserves a web version, so i downloaded the source code and build the WEBgl, cause i know there are a lot of issues with unity and WEGBL export and not everyone can do it.
here it is so you can upload it

Cool. Really liked the wrongkeypress/Anxietymeter thing. It elevates the mood of the game.
Love the visuals and the mood, it is very cute and shows the feelings of social anxiety pretty well as the others have said.
There are a few bugs like the popcorns are on top the characters but the speech bubbles are behind them. You can also add a bit more variety into the key sequences and change the length of them. Other than that it is a very good game given that this is your first LD!
Well done!
The artwork is incredible and the game is pretty funny, great job.
Lovely artwork. Lovely Audio. Lovely game.
That is a way to difficult x) Maybe that is because I have an azerty keybord, but what the hell with these people ? They are kind of predators waiting for a seat ! I have troubles to say to one person to stand up and leave the seat, so when 2 or 3 waits for it, thats quite ridiculously difficult ^^ The art style and the audio is cool also :)
Keep coding :)
Loved the artworks and the style. The idea well fits the jam theme, and the technical aspects is good in overall (there are no game breaking bugs or major issues)
The game is moody and fun, and it's surely something more the normal 3 star compo game
Have a nice day!
The ambient sound is awesome and I like the art. The walk animation is a bit weird. Sometimes it looks like two people are in the same seat and the players render over the popcorn. Great concept.
Had a fun time to play the game! Character is sooo cute....
The idea is great ! And I can definitively relate with the character. Cute game !
Adorable. The social awkwardness it hitting a bit close to home. Very well made game!
Interesting concept, though I ran into some bugs. That's understandable, WebGL builds always break.
Really interesting take on the theme, and very nice presentation.
I also appreciate you went the extra mile beyond it basically being a fancy Game & Watch game with the conversation minigame aspect.
Really solid compo entry, especially for a first timer!
I really liked the aesthetics of this game. The art is really great. I did have an issue where some elements were being placed in front of other elements (the popcorn on the seats were showing up in front of my character when she walked by) and at one point one of the letters I was supposed to type was behind one of the other characters and I couldn't see it at all. Overall, nicely done. Congrats on completing your first Ludum Dare! I hope to see you back next time.
Unfortunately hampered by its bugs. When you pick up pop corn you cannot put it down. When somebody sits down, I was never able to get the to go away BEFORE somebody else would spawn in the queue.
This game isn't the most polished, but it sure hit me in the heart! Playing as a socially awkward person having to deal with their anxiety to ask people if you can take their seat was very relatable, definitely an interesting game and get full marks for mood from me.
wow, the pressure of talking to people really got to me cause i was fumbling those key commands. very funny and cute!
Could ... you ... pl... please .... get ... rid ... of ... the ... bugs. ... This ... is ... way ... too ... cool ... to .... not ...b ...bee .... polished....
Thank you for this little experience into our-self.
Super innovative concept! I love the mood, atmosphere and graphics. Some of the interactions seem buggy though, at one point I couldn't talk to anyone. Great work thinking outside of the box for this one!
Very funny and cute, i really like it. i appreaciate the anxiety gauge when you talk to people x) so accurate
beautiful art and cool idea, but a lot of bugs, unfortunately couldn't play properly :( But the idea and art, really very cool :D
First off as a fellow first time participant in Ludum Dare just... Wow this game has great visuals, cool mechanics and a great atmosphere well done the only thing I can fault you on is after failing the game it seemed that I was not able to interact with the people in seats and after trying to put popcorn on a seat while the people were moving kept them kinda stuck in the middle which was made worse by the text not displaying over the people so it made it hard to see what buttons to press. Overall though a great game I hope to see more from you come December I'll be eagerly waiting.
Took me a while but I finally saved all the seats! As people have pointed out there are some issues and bugs but the game was really charming. Art is adorable and the sound and dialogue from the movie was a nice touch. Congrats on your first LD!
I tried it twice and I could not complete it. First time due to being a bit slow picking up the gist of the game and getting into it, and second time I managed to get to the popcorn and put popcorn on 3 seats but then I couldn't talk to anyone after picking up another popcorn and I had to quit. I did really like the music and the mood, it made me feel like I was really helpless and like a child. Well done.
i found the mechanichs really interesting, the only problem i got was when i had 2 or more ppl seated i could not talk to them to move, idk if it was a bug or i just lose xD. Love the movie sound, and put anxiety to a game its a great idea! nice game!
I played the web version. This is really good for your first entry. It's an interesting take on the theme and uses some unusual mechanics, just what I like to see in a LD game. There were a few visual bugs, mainly with the depth of things, such as you walking between the chair and the popcorn, or the speech prompts being blocked by movie goers. This might just be the web port? The tasks do become repetitive quite quickly, so I think it was a smart move to keep it short.
Really cute.
This is a really solid entry ! Amazing. I love the typing mechanics and you managed to find something super original that fits the theme. Simple yet snappy, I was laughing so hard. Also, the south park walking style is the cherry on the pie ! :D
Poor girl. I had her rocking once before I understood the mechanics. Darn rude peeps come and sit in the seat I just talked someone out of. >:( Nice entry!
A very interesting take on the theme. I love the art style and also the anxiety meter. Great job for a Compo game!
very cool idea :)
Very fun theme. I liked the audio and laughed out loud just at the premise of the game, very clever. I also liked how the "health bar" was anxiety. Well done! :)
Thank you for sharing your game with me. I played it on my stream tonight at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames
I have rated your game, but all of my feedback was captured in the stream.
You can hear my comments in the archive at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297889760
Loved the audio. Simple yet fun. The dialogue system was fun, and realistic ;) just when you think you have a handle on the situation you say something wrong and your anxiety goes up.
This was a really fun and short game, I loved it! It is a really great idea and a cool interpretation of the theme. Great job!
would be nice to gave some variation in the levels and the people coming in, found it very nice. The graphics and the Audio were great, enjoyed the fact there is a movie going on in the background, as well as the game felt well polished and whole.
Cute graphics, nice creative gameplay. Great interpretation of the theme, loved it ! Nice Work !
Omg at first I though her sweater was a beard and I played the whole game thinking I was a dwarf with a snazzy beard...then it hit me O.o Nice take on anxiety. I enjoyed it :)
Even though I couldn't identify with it, this is a well-crafted, great looking game. Congratulations!
I thought the visuals were very well done and it was a very creative little game! Very good job for your first LD entry and your first Compo game! It hit the theme and mood very well =)
I do think the game lacks replayability once you figure it out due to the rather simple and short gameplay, but it's a fun little game that isn't like anything I've seen or played before. I really enjoyed it!
So charming and fun! I played it through twice. The graphics fit so well and the gameplay was genius - the ums stressed me our perfectly! Mood was on point. Great entry!
I love this, it's really cute. Art and gameplay were both enjoyable. I think it would have been interesting if the different people had unique ways of handling the conversations to mix it up a bit. But overall, I really liked this, great job!
I bombed the first play trying to figure out the mechanics, but I'm glad I stuck it out. The art and audio are terrific. What was really interesting (and frustrating) was the talking mechanism. Being forced to stutter raised my actual anxiety level, whether I was hitting the right keys or not. I didn't find that feeling fun, but I respect it as a novel game experience. Unusual concept well-executed!
We played the game on our stream https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298075752?t=01h05m23s if you would like some more feedback definetly check it out :)
Great first entry! Graphic really cool
This is absolutely charming! I loved the setting, characters, and concept, and it's a great game for a first entry.
FUN - The game wasn't too challenging once I figured out that pressing the wrong keys raises your anxiety level. The bubbles lasted just long enough for me to press the correct buttons, but the game still took me 3 tries to beat. I gave it a 2.5/5 for fun since it's so short.
INNOVATION - I don't think there's anything particularly innovative here in terms of mechanics or gameplay, other than the character tie in with the timid speech bubbles. I gave it a 1.5/5 for this.
THEME - I don't believe that the theme allowed for a really diverse set of interpretations, but the way that this one is presented (seats filling up at a theater), is really unique! I'm still looking for that one game that just blows me away in interpretation to give my 5 star rating to, but you scored very good with a 4/5 on this category.
GRAPHICS - I loved the hand-drawn art style (probably because I do the same thing)! The colors didn't seem to be part of a unified palette but they worked all the same. The lack of actual frames of animation (probably due to time constraints, right ) didn't detract too much from the overall art style too much, though they certainly would have made it better (in my opinion). I gave it a 3.5/5 here.
AUDIO - I liked the choice of music on its own, but I don't think it blended very well with the game. Maybe lowering the volume a bit or using Audacity to dampen the high notes a bit would be better. I find audio to be almost entirely a matter of taste, however, so take this with a grain of salt. I gave it a 3/5.
HUMOR - The amusing dialog from the movie made me laugh the first time I heard it. Who goes to *mime* school? Do the teachers talk at all? However, after a couple restarts it would have been nice to hear a different voice clip or musical piece, and for some more voice clips to run during a play session as well, instead of just the beginning. I gave it a 3/5.
MOOD - NOTE: I group all characters and story into this category! I loved the characters and could completely identify with the girl I was playing. Talking to people can be scary (and the expressions on some of their faces probably made it worse)! Including considerations from the GRAPHICS and AUDIO points above, I gave it a 3.5/5.
OVERALL - I gave it a 3.5/5, a solid jam effort! It was a little slow, a little too easy, and a bit inconsistent in my opinion. I added .5 stars because I didn't encounter any bugs .
You should be very proud of your first jam and I look forward to seeing more of your entries in the future!
I did not get how to play at first, but it was fun once I figured out how. Cute graphics and nice take on the theme : )
Hey! Sorry for the wait, I’ve covered your game here (I rated before the end of the deadline, no worries):
