The movement is a little painful because it is so slow. The snail is so cute though, so it takes away the pain

Nice done!
@allan-kong It's a snail, after all, it has to be slow! :) We designed levels for Stewart's speed, so simple speed increase will kill the game.
Nice work! Loved the art style, and gameplay was fun. Good job :)
Not bad game Hopefully you can improve the browser version so that it runs better but works a lot better when downloaded. Some nice graphics, though the music does start too loud. Keep up the good work guys
Love the graphics & sfx & music. Somehow where calming game to play!
Nice Art work! You created a great puzzle mechanic. This game have potencial to mobile plataform!
Sadly unable to test it myself due to issues with both the windows and web version, but saw the gameplay on elysiagriffin's stream. Very cute and well polished.
Great job introducing and teaching new features to the player gradually. A short animation (along with stopping movement) while the snail is in the toilet would have added a bit more impact to that feature in the game.
@allan-kong @jtrink @teelin I've updated the HTML5 build on itch.io, now it should work fine, without any slowdowns!
@jtrink The Windows build is also updated, I hope it works fine now (I'm on Mac so can't test myself).
I liked the level names a lot! Really cute art and music! Definitely see some potential with the gameplay as well. Good job! :D
I really appreciate your artwork style :-)
I just tried to play to your game on my browser but i could'nt even complete level 1 :/ Is there a link to dowload it ? There is no explaination about controlers IG, no info in the UI/HUD and no options to reach them. Despite all of this, i did enjoy the paper cut style you've done. Pay attention to the music loop, which is also too repetitive.
Super cute! the art and music is great, and the puzzle mechanic is really clever. The movement felt a little clunky at times, but all around, this was a really fun take on the theme, great work!
Really dig the artwork.
@noumenie Controls are pretty typical for a platformer and they're mentioned on this page: it's left, right and space. Windows build is available at itch.io page. Thanks for your comments, I agree that we should address that and add controls info to the game.
It's strange that you couldn't complete Level 1 in a browser. What browser do you use? There were problems with Chrome before, but now they're fixed and game runs very smooth.
The character movement is slow but it matches the flow of the game. This game has a unique relaxing mood which I find enjoyable. It suits a puzzle game well. Not sure if there is a way to navigate around the menus without using the mouse but it is annoying to have to switch between two hands on the keyboard to using the mouse. Overall, I'd say great job!
@shredmer I want to clarify the point about slow movement. Did you watch the video? Does the character move with the same speed in the game for you? I'm asking because people reported slow work in Chrome. Thank you for playing and your feedback, we appreciate that!
@roman-petrov Yes it is the same speed as when I play in Chrome.
@shredmer Thanks for your answer. It's a snail after all, it's slow :) And levels are designed for its speed. If we increase the speed, we'll have to redesign levels.
@roman-petrov I have seen this, but it doesn't help me, this is why I tried to seek for any tips :) I succeed to get the green thing while jumping on it and nothing else. I will see on the itchio if there is a difference ;) And, my browser is Chrome, perhaps there is still some issues to fix ? :)
I love the artwork! Great job!
Artwork and sound design is solid, nice job!
Great artwork! Love it! Wish i could draw like that? Any tutorials for that? Great concept. Fits the theme, really unique way.
Cute snail, could easily be in a longer platform game, it reminds me a bit of those Diddy Kong Race characters
I like the graphics of this game a lot ! The idea is also nice and everything is well polished.
The jumps are a bit odd though and the snail is too slow for me (well it's a snail after all, I know...). Since you sometimes have to restart the level because you get stuck, having a slow character is a bit annoying
Gameplay was fun ) Good luck!
1)Sometimes i fall under the stage(when i start/restrat a level).Безымянный.png 2)On the picture you see another bug. I cannot escape from this prison. 3)Level "one chance". I have the bug number 1 and i win, cause the exit is under the start. I don't wanna show that U've done badly i only wanna show your mistake.
Loved the art. A bit weird that I couldn't jump on platforms that were moving downward and had to wait for them to be moving up again. The snail was so cute that I didn't mind the slow speed, but I think I ran into a bug in the second level where after eating the brown/tan pill, the brown/tan platforms didn't vanish, so I was unable to get to the exit.
Still, I really enjoyed the concept with the platformer and the game was fun, so I hope you continue to polish it and let me know whether I somehow missed the solution to level two!
nice graphics ! gameplay is pretty slow. But yout game looks pretty complete, well done!
I enjoyed this a lot! I love the artstyle and the player character is just adorable! :D The puzzles were challenging and varied, but never got frustrating. I ran into one bug where I finished a level but somehow the level complete screen didn't show up and when I went back to the menu it wasn't marked as complete. (I was very grateful that I could just skip to the next level anyway!) Anyway, good job on this! :)
Its a very peaceful and cute little game I must say. COntrols are a little slow and it can be tricky at times but the art, the gameplay and te theme is cute. Well done :)
Very relaxing game, so cute! The graphics and sounds are beautiful! I like this puzzle.
Nice! Graphics are pretty, movement is perfect speed for a snail (not sure about the jumping, though!) and the puzzle platformer gameplay is pretty spot-on.
soooo cute character <3
Very nice graphics and sound. Lovely game!
Wonderful graphics and music. And so many levels! This is rarely seen on the LD. But it seemed to me that solving pill puzzles at random when you don't know which pill will remove which block is not the best idea. Otherwise very nice game!
PS Brilliant mechanics with the toilets!
Music was amazing. Graphics were adorable.
I had trouble - sometimes I couldn't jump very far up, like on the very first level I struggled to make it up to the first platform - but restarting the game helped. I got stumped by level 3.
I'm colorblind, so while the palette you've chosen is very pretty, it was difficult for me to tell different colored pills/platforms apart.
The graphics are absolutely beautiful.
Since pills of the same color erase different platforms, you need to restart a few times in order to figure out which exact pill erases which platforms. The prob is that the character moves so slowly, redo-ing feels long. Maybe I'm just being impatient.
I liked the level names and I enjoyed the game.
Wow this is excellent! Beautiful art and clever puzzle mechanic that fits in perfectly with the theme -- I really had fun playing it with my 6 year old daughter. Very nicely done :)
@proke Thanks for the bug report! The first bug started to happen after I've tried to fix the speed issue in Windows build. I'll see what can I do to have both fixed. And thanks for the screenshot, that's a really strange situation, never happened when we did internal testing. We'll try to reproduce it.
@carraka Can't jump from the platforms going down — yes, that's a big issue, but I didn't have enough time to fix it before the deadline. As for the second level: we thought that it's pretty easy. Did you notice that there are vertical and horizontal pills? They remove corresponding platform type of the same color. Maybe, it's that trick that will help you?
@josia-roncancio Thanks for the bug report. It's really-really strange, we'll fix that bug if we decide to continue the game, of course.
@enot487 Thank you! Pills are not removing random platforms, everything is very strict: there are vertical and horizontal pills. If you eat red horizontal pill, all horizontal red platforms disappear. It's the puzzle core, you need to think what pills in what order to eat, and when to use a toilet, because it can be used only once.
@randytayler Thank you! If you keep pressing Space button, you will jump higher. I think it's a pretty common mechanic for platformers. And I'm so sorry that you had problems with colors! Actually, I mentioned possible problems with color blind people. I agree that we should have thought more about the palette, or add another elements on pills and blocks to help people like you.
@jerripo No, pills work very strict! It seems that you didn't notice that there are horizontally and vertically oriented pills! They remove corresponding platforms.
@devharts Thank you! Our 3-year old daughter says HELLO to yours :)

The game's look and feel is amazing. Very nice work on the graphics. One bug I found is if you stand near the moving platform on first stage you will automatically be thrown out and will show you as victorious. So probably a little more work on level design. Awesome work !!
@vivek-sharma20 Thank you! I think, it should be also a little more work on platformer engine :)
Incredible Idea !
Interesting take on the theme! I found it pretty unclear which seeds turn off which platforms (not all red seeds turn off all red platform, there are also multiple seeds of the same colour, you get it), so it's a bit trial and error, you can't properly plan in advance in your first go through a given level. Also the seeds sometimes blended too much with background. Apart from that playing it was very comforting and calming and smooth experience, maybe thanks to graphics and music it felt nice. Thanks for that!
The graphics are amazing. I love that snail. The controls could do with a little bit of work. The jump felt weird and not moving along with the moving platforms was unintuitive. The puzzle were good once you figure which seeds turn off which platforms.
Good stuff :8ball:
Hehe, too cute! It's kind of fascinating how this game resonates with little kids though -- mine specifically requested to play "the snail game" again this evening, and we've beaten all the levels at this point XD
I love the graphic style! The color palette is also unusual, in a good way. I liked the pace of the game. (Maybe I'm slow.) At the second level, I was not allowed to use the WC a second time, so I couldn't solve the puzzle. I even fell out of the screen, which was slightly alarming. (I was at the WC door, going back and forth.) I was not in love with the music. With such strong visuals, I wanted the audio to be equally stylish. (The denial sound effect made me laugh.) Congratulations!
Really great! I was confused by the seeds of a certain color not removing all platforms of that color. In the 3rd level I chose the wrong purple seed and lost motivation. Overall, loved it :)
@wrenpirate All puzzles have solutions. WC can be used only once, it adds to a challenge of finding the right order of pills to eat. The bug with falling through the floor is known and if we continue to develop the game, it will be fixed, of course. I'm not fixing it now to follow the rules :) Thanks for your feedback!
@kalcoslinder Pills, just like platforms, have different orientation — horizontal and vertical. I think we should have make it more noticeable. Anyway, thanks for your feedback!
Fun puzzle game! Really enjoyed it, the graphics are really good
Great design, sound, and art! The controls and UX were the biggest hurdle for this game, but it's a great game considering the time limit! I'll list a few things that I would do differently, but overall I'm very impressed with it.
Controls - Slow movement speed coupled with awkward jump mechanics make it a bit of a chore to play, particularly in long levels where there's a lot of back and forth. Jump detection was a bit off, particularly on moving platforms and near the edge of platforms.
For UX, I'd start teaching things in smaller bites - only teach 1 new concept per level, and if it's a particularly difficult concept, maybe give it a few levels to sink in. Level 1 could be 'get to the exit'. Level 2 could be 'touching a pill makes platforms disappear', and so on. That might seem tedious, and it might be to the player, but if you up movement speed a bit, that will help.
The graphics are well done but I find the trial and error puzzles a bit tedious. It would be more fun if you would know beforehand which pill will let which blocks dissapear ( when you have different pills of the same color) then you don't have to try them all out first.
Solid entry! The main mechanic + use of toilet I think is very well thought out and implemented. The only problem for me is the fact that (unless i'm missing something) there's no way to know which pill will destroy which platform and that just leads to unnecessary replays of a level not because the puzzle was too hard but because there was no obvious cause-effect link between pill and platform (apart from colour). Other than that - amazing work! Loved the audio effect for when the snail's too full and you try ingesting one more pill.
i found it hard to tell exactly what was going to happen with each pill due to the colour coding that mostly worked? but sometimes not. the levels are really well designed and fun to solve! but i wish the snail thing could have moved slightly faster. good entry though in general! reminds me of the game Spewer somewhat... some similar ideas i think...
@roman-petrov That totally makes sense!
great puzzle game. I love the game mechanics. and the art style is just amazing! i like the pace of the game. it's not really that slow for me, the speed just works for me. it's kinda relaxing. i really like it!
Excellent! This game has a really interesting mood to it. Sort of reminds me of a chill Robert Plant album cover... That aside, this game works really well! It's very impressive that you have multiple levels. There are many games like this that try for several levels and end up with one. Fantastic job on this!
@roman-petrov I love these kind of puzzle games, I liked the music and art style very much good job.
Great game! I found that I sometimes couldn't jump from platforms that were moving downwards. Interesting take on the theme though.
Btw, I think you could easily make a horror game using the same artstyle, it kinda has that nice, creepy complexity to make it work.
Well done!
I finished it in one run, so I missed the level names of each level, sadly. The puzzles are good but I must say that without the hint, I just randomly eat pills until I finish the level.
The graphics are very detailed but somehow very similar to a web game series I've seen.
I played the web version and I just realised there wasn't any music. Perhaps that's a bug.
It's pretty fun as I've obviously finished it in one run!
Nice game with a straightforward puzzle mechanic. Quite polished for a jam game!
Nice game! Good work on the audio as well. I agree with @wildcard that sometimes I couldn't jump off the platforms as they were moving down, I guess the game thought I was in a "falling" state so I wasn't allowed to jump.
Great job! :)
Fun art style and relaxing yet thoughtful gameplay. Background music is pleasant, but pretty loud. Clever level designs, too. Nice work!
Pleasant music and beautiful graphics! This game has a really nice mood.
What a nice and complete game. Great concept and movement. I love snails so this that's an extra point right there. Good audio and everything else. Nice!
@tj101010 Thanks for your feedback! I agree that we probably took a bit too fast pace with introducing gameplay elements. But even these 8 levels were a challenge to design. Our game designer spent two days making them (I was doing all the code)! If we continue this game (and we seriously considering it), then we'll have better tutorial and visual design to address all troubles reported by others.
@shakedimus Yeah, that's a problem everyone is reporting: it seems that vertical/horizontal pills are not very recognizable. It's not random, it's very strict: red vertical pill will remove all vertical red platforms/blocks, etc. We're not addressing this in the jam version, of course, because it will be against the rules.
@wildcard Yes, the bug with jumping from platforms moving down was my main headache. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to fix it. Thanks for your feedback!
@g12345 Yeah, someone completed all levels! We're so happy! I thought that the game mechanics will be easy to understand, because the first level already shows that there are horizontal and vertical pills and they remove corresponding platforms of the same color. Well, that's a lesson for us — create better tutorials! :)
@roman-petrov protip: Don't use both colour and shape to determine the function of some very small items. For example, in my LD game (very short game), every shape has its own distinct colour!
I suggest you to play my game to see how different colours and shapes can be used, and still can be recognised easily.
@g12345 I played your game, but didn't understand what to do :)
Heey man, I wanted to check on your game too, but the game doesn't start for me. The loading screen just says: 'Starting...' Encountered this problem using the Firefox browser.
However, it did work in another browser. While typing this your game is running in the background with the music on and everything. Gotta say, I like the music vibe. Nice and layered, nice bass lines and such.
The game itself is fun! I like how you guys 'morphed' the theme to make it fit a puzzle game. The theme becomes more of a game mechanic in your game. That's nice.
There were some minor gameplay bugs though. I couldn't jump when a lift was going down for instance. And not all the blocks with the same color disappeared when I got a pill.
The game looks pretty much done visually. I had the feeling that time was invested to make it look like the way it does. Props for that.
Cool entry Hedgehogs! :)
@red-pill Thanks a lot for kind words! The bug with jumping from a platform is the main bug in the game now, didn't have enough time to fix it. As for pills: you just confirmed once again that this was our little failure in visual design :) Everything is strict: there are horizontally and vertically oriented pills which remove corresponding platforms of the same color, there's no randomness in this.
This little puzzle game is awesome! The sound and visual atmosphere are great! I liked crossing these few levels even though I would have really enjoyed having more! I think some visual feedbacks would make this game even better and more dynamic! Great job! :)
By the way please feel free to leave us some feedbacks on our game!
@zinski Thank you! I already played and rated your game, it is a very good entry!
Looks good and the levels are well designed, however I feel like the movement is a bit too slow. The snail is adorable though! Some levels became frustrating due to the slow pace, and having to restart because I ate the wrong pills, but other than that it is over all a great entry!
@goudagames Thanks for your feedback! You're confirming all our little faults :) I will play and rate your game soon too, of course (thanks for the Mac build!).
Fun little puzzle game! Finished all the levels, thought the number of levels was about right but some of the later ones were a bit less challenging, especially the last 2 or 3 i think? You could finish at least two of them with extra space left over in your stomach, which means you could have made an extra move and still solved it. So that maybe could have been pushed a bit more.
I personally didn't have any issues understanding the vertical vs horizontal platform disappearing mechanic, but agree that it probably could have been made more obvious somehow. I guess it helps that you spelled it out in the description, haha.
My main complaint is actually little quality-of-life things that could have made the game feel a bit less tedious. It felt like the puzzle aspect of figuring out the right order in which to do things was fairly interesting, but in the latter half of the game it felt like in order to actually focus on that I had to first go through a tedious task of panning the camera around the level and memorizing a bunch of colors. I feel like I would have enjoyed the actual puzzle aspect of the game a lot more if I could view the entire level at once and move faster. I understand these were probably intentional choices, but I personally felt like the puzzle aspect of the game could have carried through more strongly if didn't have to deal with those things as much.
Some of the other nitpicky things like the jumping on platforms moving down were already mentioned; those are pretty minor though. I did find it a bit odd that the menu UI navigation was all mouse-based even though the game itself used the keyboard only.
All that said, props for making a puzzle game in a short time period -- it is really not easy to think of clever puzzle designs quickly! And the concept is a pretty cute too! Though I fear for little Stewart's health after eating so many colored drugs...
Hm curious and interesting game. It's quite the puzzler. There is some new mechanics and I like how you can progress through the difficulty. The range in which it was explored made this a winner for me. Lots of incentive to continue playing.
The movement feels a bit clumsy and making the camera height fixed at the edges instead of scrolling would look better for the level design I think.
There is a bug that blocked me on level three, if you eat red, purple, tan, you can get stuck in the WC.
Other than that it's a good game overall.
@ddrkirbyisq Wow, fantastic feedback! I think we all should learn how to write meaningful, still critical, but not demotivating feedback from you. Thanks a lot for taking the time to play our game and write this detailed review. Loved your game! :)
@meatpudding Thanks for your feedback! Can you clarify a bit about the bug? I think I never saw it. Are you able to reproduce it?
Nice game. The music and artwork is cool. The concept feels new so good job on that.
Cool puzzle game! Luckily I read the hint that the orientation of the pills matters, so the puzzles made sense. In the beginning, a level can be quite overwhelming, but it was fun to solve. I like the graphics, music and the sound effects. I would have liked up arrow for jumping.
In level 3, it would be nice if the horizontal green pill is a bit easier to avoid. In level 4 in the top left corner I would easily get kicked of the platform somehow.
(Double post)
It felt good to play it
Lovely graphics, neat puzzler! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/KKcNeeBfE6w
@jupiter-hadley Thank you so much! We're happy that you like it :)
cool!
Cool! +5
