Thanks everyone! Pickles is really excited about all the positive comments <3 :D
Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback everyone! <3
Wanted to note that the PLACEHOLDER text showing up on memories was an unfortunate bug, when I ran the final release I had incorrectly copied the spreadsheet into a data file and it didn't load right! Whoops :D it is now resolved though!
Fantastic! love the idea.... my brain hurts.
YESSSS
fantastic! love the use of theme and art. waiting for animations was annoying cause I was having so much fun, I WANTED MORE.
keyboard controls tricky to get used to especially with the very fast / tight jump, but love the play on the theme :)
Wonderful experience :) very relaxing, I love the music.
@zidoolan @unkilledshadow135-alex hahaha yeah this was my first attempt at collision detection, definitely have a lot to learn there! Really appreciate you playing and the thoughtful feedback! Performance was a big concern, so happy to hear the engine is performing well :D
@aisus Thanks for playing! note taken, I think if the world had more thoughtful content it would feel better to explore. As it stands its entirely generated (and maybe too big considering that), with one easter egg exception ;)
@maymay hehe yay! glad you enjoyed it and found those silly endings :D
Thanks for playing @Orhu ! It's really cool to hear you thought of minigames! that was one of my stretch goals too, I really love games like Tomato Adventure, and Paper Mario and wanted to bring that agency into this game. Appreciate the thoughtful feedback, I'll have to revisit this <3
@JoshH hahah thanks for playing and the feedback! Shotguns weren't really the vibe we were going for but I hear you on the wolves, overall I think we ended up with a harder game than we really wanted :D
@minakorii hehe, those wolves are cute until they spot ya! Thank you for playing!
very cute and sweet <3 I had fun but also felt stressed timing wise haha, movement could be a little faster but all nit picky. Great job!
Cool take on the world moves when you do :) good job!
good stuff! had fun and love the visual concept. Distance to the boss could use some balancing (maybe smaller gated areas leading up to it), and agree with more generous hitboxes. The two minimap thing was kinda confusing, and the upgrade system could have some clarity.
YOU JAMMED! GOOD JOB
@leeway Wow thank you so much :) that really means a lot. I was considering changing up the art style, but maybe I'll sit with that thought a bit longer now haha. Will definitely add more levels I had at least 3 more in mind and I think this idea has legs. Would love to have you playtest when the time comes <3
@oysterhey Thanks so much for playing and the feedback! Is there anything in particular about the controls you're thinking about? I definitely have a few ideas myself but would love to hear more if you wanna share!
Thanks so much for the feedback everyone! Really appreciate the playthroughs and thoughts :) I very much plan to continue on this game with more content and refinement of the mechanics. Feel like there is a lot of depth to this core puzzle concept I want to explore :)
@enchaec Wow those are big comparisons for me :D Thanks for your time and feedback! Will definitely be continuing on this one, follow on discord or itch if ya like!
@plusonerabbit Appreciate the nudge on the fireflies, definitely coded their movement last minute haha, I need to play around a bit if they actually fit the game or if its unecessary.
@mikeandtherest Amazing thanks for the feedback! Definitely one of the main things I've been thinking about "how best to onboard and teach the player" I want to respect the different kinds of players, so I might give a choice up front how hand held you want, and then provide an optional hint for each level that becomes available after some time.
@imberny Ah yeah I noticed the audio level might've been a little high in the song at one point too. Thanks for the note. Appreciate the very idea that this evoked Monument Valley in the slightest haha :D Happy to chat on Discord (@coderah) about engine if you want but the gist is that it's a web based (for portability) game engine that is rendering-system agnostic, many games start out using html and easily swap to their ideal approach later. At its core is a multi-threadable ECS with archetypes, with a focus on plugins, and tight APIs with minimal boilerplate. I have found myself using Three.js for most games (even 2D) so it has some plugins for that. The part I've been really focused on lately is tools to allow any 3D (or similar) editor to be its visual editor. So the puzzles here were all made in Blender and when exported just work. essentially uses a tag system. I find this lets me tailor the tools to the game, rather than trying to force existing patterns into the game. It seems like more work at first, but every time I do it I move much faster, and adding content in the long run is easier (despite appearances with this game hahah).
Brilliant, and absurdly well executed. I lost my cursor.
The overall art style and vibe implies something pretty different than the difficulty and speed of the game :D crazy whiplash. All that said the little sound effects and the art style are great!
overall a silly fun time. love the art, and sounds. Could Definitely use those newspaper stories to actually change something about the parameters between each level rather than just scaling up frequency, and count. Also in the first level I got the speaker gnome like 9 times in a row :D
Good job! YOU JAMMED!
