Really great visuals and sfx! I was not smart enough to pass the first level tho .I think adding some hints would help

@hangovergames Thanks for playing and your feedback! I added hint spoilers in the description here. It's definitely the trickiest part to balance not telling too much, but not telling too little either lol.
OMG I LOVE this game! If you're gonna make more levels please please let me know and I'll definitely play them! The whole game is giving nordic celtic vibes and once solved the puzzles, that intro line together with the solution totally hit me somewhere and I'm in-tears! Spectacular!
This is super super cool. The graphics work really well, and the puzzle mechanic is great. I think the controls could be improved, and the music was a little bass heavy. But overall good!
@leeway Wow thank you so much :) that really means a lot. I was considering changing up the art style, but maybe I'll sit with that thought a bit longer now haha. Will definitely add more levels I had at least 3 more in mind and I think this idea has legs. Would love to have you playtest when the time comes <3
@oysterhey Thanks so much for playing and the feedback! Is there anything in particular about the controls you're thinking about? I definitely have a few ideas myself but would love to hear more if you wanna share!
The game is really very cool! Of course, I had to spend quite a lot of time to complete the first level (and that's because I'm not good at puzzles), but still! The graphics are very nice. The music is pleasant! All in all, great job!
Great mood and atmosphere! I love minimal abstract puzzle games (like windosill or gnog) and this captures a similar feeling. Shame it's so short but I hope you get to expand upon it in the future : )
love the mood, nicely done
A VERY original idea! I'm sorry it ended before I could say Yabba Dabba Doo!
Definitely something that should be pursued.
Congratulations on your work.
Really nice atmosphere, liked the music, could do a lot with the puzzle mechanics
I really enjoyed the vibe! Art and music is fantastic. I believe this mechanism has huge potential and can't wait to see more levels!
It's always a good time to use planar reflections as a puzzle mechanic! Great vibes, great music, would have liked some sound effects. I handled the puzzles fine but I do feel like the fireflies impeded gameplay a bit by making it harder to tell if you got the right solution. There were a couple times I figured out the next step and didn't realize it because they were slow to move or didn't land on the exact right spot. Very solid vertical slice!
Very nice concept. I didn't realise I could rotate right until the end of the door puzzle. Would love to see move puzzles overall. Great atmosphere.
Woah, this is a really cool game and an unique idea! I had to read the instructions before figuring out what I need to do, so maybe a small in-game tutorial would've helped, but either way, I enjoyed playing it. Btw, I can really see this one becoming a real game. Keep it up!
I'm impressed by this. Also curious about your custom engine. Unfortunately the audio was very crunchy for me, maybe tweak the loudness? This was giving me some great monument valley vibes! I'd like to see it get expanded upon.
Thanks so much for the feedback everyone! Really appreciate the playthroughs and thoughts :) I very much plan to continue on this game with more content and refinement of the mechanics. Feel like there is a lot of depth to this core puzzle concept I want to explore :)
@enchaec Wow those are big comparisons for me :D Thanks for your time and feedback! Will definitely be continuing on this one, follow on discord or itch if ya like!
@plusonerabbit Appreciate the nudge on the fireflies, definitely coded their movement last minute haha, I need to play around a bit if they actually fit the game or if its unecessary.
@mikeandtherest Amazing thanks for the feedback! Definitely one of the main things I've been thinking about "how best to onboard and teach the player" I want to respect the different kinds of players, so I might give a choice up front how hand held you want, and then provide an optional hint for each level that becomes available after some time.
@imberny Ah yeah I noticed the audio level might've been a little high in the song at one point too. Thanks for the note. Appreciate the very idea that this evoked Monument Valley in the slightest haha :D Happy to chat on Discord (@coderah) about engine if you want but the gist is that it's a web based (for portability) game engine that is rendering-system agnostic, many games start out using html and easily swap to their ideal approach later. At its core is a multi-threadable ECS with archetypes, with a focus on plugins, and tight APIs with minimal boilerplate. I have found myself using Three.js for most games (even 2D) so it has some plugins for that. The part I've been really focused on lately is tools to allow any 3D (or similar) editor to be its visual editor. So the puzzles here were all made in Blender and when exported just work. essentially uses a tag system. I find this lets me tailor the tools to the game, rather than trying to force existing patterns into the game. It seems like more work at first, but every time I do it I move much faster, and adding content in the long run is easier (despite appearances with this game hahah).
Really amazing mood! The levels felt really complete and where fun to puzzle out! Will love to see more
(FYI the Itch link (https://sprixle.itch.io/sobelow, not https://sprixle.studio/sobelow though) in "If you liked it please follow! I plan to do a lot more with this! Discord or Itch" and down below in links gives a 404)
The atmosphere and the puzzle mechanic (fireflies yaay! ^^) is really cool. Great job!
