An ambitious endeavor (for the timeframe) from team AMastryukov! A large environment, various NPCs and several weapons - built by a fairly large team in just a couple days from zero! The tie-in to "Every 10 Seconds" is a bit thin, but still the game is hilarious - slicing cute teddy bears into shreds never gets old. 👍🏼 👍🏼

I love the amount of detail added to this game! The house is absolutely incredible looking! All the 3D models are for that matter. The animations are great, the hilarious gory teddy bear explosions are amazing, there's a huge loadout of weapons- All of this is fantastic! I would've liked some settings for changing mouse sensitivity though.

I think the amount of windows makes the repairs irrelevant. It seems like there's too many entry points for the enemies that any slowing down that repairs would make wouldn't be worth the effort.

It's been a decade since I've played Call of Duty Zombies, so this was a little nostalgic, ha! Marvelous work.

Anyway, I have a video of me playing if you want some more feedback!

@100th-coin Thanks for the video, very helpful! We will do our best to fix the bugs and smooth out the gameplay a little bit, as well as add a sensitivity slider.

fluffy-kaeloky 2022-10-04 21:28

I'm really not a big fan of the wall of text for the rules and explanations. I kinda skipped through it after the first slide, and as such I didn't really understood the game the first few playthroughs.

However, it was still quite fun ! The changing loadout gave you an incentive to use your secondary ASAP while your primary recharges. Weapon balance could use a bit of work, I feel like you are kinda screwed if you get the shotgun a bit too many times, the slow reload and dual shell make it really hard to kill the bears (Or pandas, or whatever the hell they are x) ) fast enough. Get a Katana however and you go pretty much slicey-dicey on them :p

I also wish there was a way to adjust the sensitivity.

Otherwise, it's a fun solid game. Congratulations on making it to the LD51 !

Woow it has soooo good concept and combination of gameplay, theme and graphics. It's like a COD zombie mod. Also. I was surpised of idea that you have different weapon, because I had one same idea for this jam. I really like your game and wish you success!

tosmaster 2022-10-05 11:08

A cool game. I liked the variety of weapons and loadouts. The wirefence was a bit overpowered since it slowed the bears down but could not be removed. Hence I could spam it every 10 seconds or so and made the whole level very easy. Still fun and cool mood.

cral 2022-10-05 11:16

Had a great time! Gameplay was simple but the loop was fun the always switching weapons kept you alert. And the variety of weapons worked wonders! Great work!

maximen 2022-10-05 11:17

i love fps games so much i love it!

neon-orbis 2022-10-05 11:23

I really enjoyed this game. I liked the concept and the with combination of the art style, environment, detail and gameplay with some game balancing and polish this would be a great little FPS. Well done!

roroto-sic 2022-10-05 11:37

Cute ! it's remind me some happy tree friends vibes ^^ (one note: i didn't find how to put the turret )

beetlebox 2022-10-05 11:59

At first I thought the game was tagged as FPS by accident. I thought I was going to play a cute fun game about fixing a house.

Loved it.

(Although, maybe add a generic content warning, so people who aren't ready for this don't accidentally wander in?)

arthur-sorignet-gautrot 2022-10-05 12:25

Changing loadout every 10 seconds was one of the ideas we got, it's fun to see it happens there. It's fun to play, lot of weapon to use !

Pretty fun game that keeps you on your toes. The ten second theme kept things fresh and made a pretty decent impact on the encounters as the Bears began to make their way in. Paying attention to what you have at your disposal on the updating inventory screen really made the experience easier. The art was fun and visually clear making the frantic (and light hearted) pacing easy to navigate. Interested in seeing what later levels would look like. Great job all around to the team, well done!

Great beginner game! Super smooth, but could add less windows. Dude's name starting with a Z is super cute

amastryukov 2022-10-06 02:47

@ahmedre thank you, I agree!

projectcolorball 2022-10-06 03:33

omg that is really a bloody game!(rate back?)asda.JPG

lepoulet 2022-10-06 05:26

A lot of things in this game. The scope is huge but your team did well. Great entry. I really like the sounds of the bears

okshirl 2022-10-06 08:23

LOL i did not expect those cute bears to just explode with blood everywhere hahahaha nvm, that was fun!

otterfaelure 2022-10-06 09:13

This game is really well done!

There are some bugs (I ended up on top of bears and couldn't see them?) and the placing of the secondary item killed me more often than not because it often would take too long to accept that I was clicking to place. Which is too bad because I was really looking forward to a long, drawn out seige.

That being said the concept is hilarious, the bears are adorable, the level design is gorgeous. Audio is good.

Aside from the bugs and smoothing out gameplay, this game is a perfect little creation, and bugs/rough gameplay is one of the primary feature of game jams. :P

Well done! :D

darkmax14 2022-10-06 09:16

Super fun to play. I think you need to balance the barbed wire a bit. It's super easy to block off one of the rooms on all sides with several layers of wire and then let the turrets you get every couple of swaps take out most of the bears.

nosloofah 2022-10-06 14:05

I have to say I was fooled by the cute cover and the name LOL, nice game

skyward4d 2022-10-06 19:11

Even for a large dev team, this was an ambitious game for 72 hours and you totally pulled it off. The mechanics and weapons/upgrades were all intuitive (The only thing I couldn't figure out is what the Battery upgrade did?), and the application of the theme was obvious.

The graphics in general were really good, especially the enemy death animation. And it was incredibly satisfying slicing through them with the katana!

My only comment is maybe there should have been a score/kill count of some kind? You're you're incentivised to play again and try to beat your highscore? Minor criticism of an overall great game. Really nice work!

What a crazy game, I barricaded myself in a room and could hear the squeaks surround me, surprisingly terrifying but extremely fun experience. I'm a bit scared I might hear the squeaks as I try to sleep tonight. Awesome game well done!!

sephowepho 2022-10-07 02:30

Definitely the most hilarious game of the jam for me. I *love* how it poses as a cute little LD entry about bears and then proceeds to destroy all of your expectations as to what the game could've been. Game feel was *wonderful* I loved blasting bear's heads off! Amazing, amazing game; I lasted maybe 8 minutes my first try, and it was fantastic all the way through.

4.5 outta 5 stars, solid entry from all 9 of you!

cortexa233 2022-10-07 04:43

I just like this crazy and hilarious art style! And the shooting feeling is also polished very well for a game made in a 72-hour game jam. But I get a little bit lagging when I was turning direction, maybe you need to optimize the performance or just upload an exe of the game.

jeremy-ryan 2022-10-08 22:20

Had a lot of fun with this one! Definitely had the vibes of COD zombies with the boarded windows and various weapons. I loved the goofy theme, variety of equipment, and juice when you blast a teddy bear with your shotgun.

The map was well-designed, and had a lot of different areas to it. I will say that boarding up the windows rarely felt worth it; there were so many entry points for the enemies that applying the board didn't really stop the flow very much. I think the most powerful equipment in the game was by far the razor wire --- it's permanent and lets you stop up the enemy movement at choke points. I had a lot of luck staying in the bedroom and just reinforcing the one area with wire and mines in case they broke through.

The graphics were really nice, especially the dying animations. The cartoon-y aesthetic did a lot of work, since you were able to add lots of detail to the house like a fireplace and kitchen without having to do detailed modeling and textures, and it looks great.

The audio was pretty simple but worked well. My only quibble is that some of the levels didn't seem even (the shotgun was way quieter than the automatic rifle, for instance, and the turret was very quiet). There were probably a few actions that would have been nice to have sounds for, like placing a turret or when your loadout switches.

Moreover, I'm really impressed that the game is so cohesive with such a big team! It seemed like everyone was really on the same page and had the same vision for the final game.

It would have been nice to have an in-game tutorial, but I also recognize they're one of the most time consuming things to make and often some of the lowest priorities.

I drew Mr. Bear and added him to the fan art compilation on [my profile.](https://ldjam.com/users/jeremy-ryan/)

Thanks for making this!

Quite a fun game with a lot more strategy than expected. The first time I basically played it as a wave shooter, only using the primary and walking around the house. After that I started to actually use the items given, and what at first felt like a horror shooter became an efficient teddy killing system.

I like that the razor wire sticks around, since it creates a nice progression of player strength, but I wish the same applied to the turrets. Even if it could very easily become unbalanced in the player's favor, I feel like building up your defenses over time would make player progression more prevalent to go along with the increasing influx of teddy bears.

I found myself hunkering down in the same room when playing, and while I'm guessing that was the intended idea, it's a shame I didn't have a reason to explore and see more of the whole house. It might've been cool to give more reasons to move about, like venturing past the safety of your defenses to grab a powerup at the other end of the house.

Kudos once again to the team! Managing and making a game of this caliper is no small feat, especially in 72 hours.

2022-10-09 21:39

Great job! I'd say the main thing it needs is some sort of high score system for how long you last or how many bears you kill. That'd give huge replay value

jmad 2022-10-16 21:54

I really enjoyed playing! I have a thing for cute art and violence mashed together... The little noise the bears make is cherry on top. Changing loadout is a great idea, weapon variety is nice and all have quite a nice gamefeel. Strong entry!
