My post-jam brain was not prepared for these puzzles.
Love the art and the mood.
I really enjoyed this game! Having such a short amount of time for each puzzle every time makes them a lot more challenging than they would normally be. At first I had trouble following the story because of the quick switches, but that might have been your intention. The graphics are really nice, as is the story (at least, the last part of it I could really pay attention too :) )
This was a beautiful story and I loved how the theme was handled. I'm absolutely in awe. My only issue at all was that the thingy like wordle was so long that it was hard to think in 10 second gaps. I think that may have been part of the point though so it was uncomfortable, but served a purpose.
I have no real critiques for this one. Well done.
I wish them a happy life. ;-;
This game was surprisingly excellent. We've enjoyed every bit of it. The concept was very cool. Thanks you for this game!
The mood and minigames are really good! Felt a bit too real at times. Thanks for the experience.
Get's kinda intense when you only have 10 seconds on each puzzle, but works great with multiple cycled puzzles especially when they all have something to do with keeping track of things in your mind. Spoke out the words for the puzzles where you need to remember and type them yet still I forgot. And then the conversation for a little break :)
I like when games make you feel certain things and this game does that, both with the different challenging puzzle with feelings of frustration and success and with the intriguing conversation eager to learn more and really gets empathic with the characters. The cross word was the hardest puzzle for me by far, maybe that's just me.
Really amazing entry, can't give much critique, just good job I must say!
Really great game, My brain was not prepared for thinking that quickly though.
Awesome art style and cozy music! Good Job!
Beautifully put together! The art and the choice of music set the tone and atmosphere very well. In my opinion, the difficulty of each minigame was tuned perfectly to fit 10 second intervals. I ended up having exactly one last minigame left (the word search) after the final conversation preceding the ending. Nice job!
That was an amazing experience. The rapid changing of of games really built up tension and put me in the headspace of the character. I like how the games made you shift into a completely different thought process but still connected back to the conversation, even offering clues to the backstory. The games were challenging but show patience (which I needed). And I feel like you really showed how incredible Ren'Py is and how it can stand up with other Engines like Unity or Unreal. It is a testament to how important the artist is and not the tools. Your art was great. The Roommate character was very attractive, you nailed the badass look while keeping is expressions soft and thoughtful. Everything about this was great!
Love a good puzzle game, i got most of them before i moved on to the next game!
I love the art, and my brain was not prepare for that, very nice work anyway :)
This is an incredible game, super amazed at how much story and mood you conveyed solely through those 10 second sequences. A genuinely incredible effort and stunning to play.
Wow, I was totally taken by this game/story. The minigames added to the experience a lot, and put me in the right headspace for the experience. Really cool, awesome submission.
I'm completely blown away - what a fantastic game. Between the visuals, the story, the great music, the interesting gameplay, the constant switching of focuses, I felt like I was actually trying to figure things out in my head. Piece by piece I was able to concentrate more and more as I figured out one puzzle and I was less torn.
Genuinely love this game - my favourite one of the jam!
What a unique way to tell a story- wow! I love the concept of having to remember things between blinks, multitask, and unravel the truth between the protagonist and Abel. The mood/tone building overall is great and really imprints itself onto the player through the gameplay. The art/UI design also flows together really well with that mood. Really great work here!
I can't think of a single criticism. Fantastic writing, artwork, and design! I assume the point of the minigames interspersed throughout it supposed to represent the cloudiness of the character's thoughts? If so, then serious props for managing to combine gameplay and story like that. I don't normally like these visual novel type games, but this had me hooked in. Amazing job!
Nice mix between puzzle solving and storytelling :) You've incorporated the theme very well too.
wow.. so much raw emotion packed into this game jam game. the writing was incredible, the puzzles themselves also helped with the mood, and the mechanic also puts you in a similar mentality with the character. At first I was a little taken back by the constant flashing, 10 seconds was maybe too short. By the story really got me hooked. Really well done. Also Abel's really hot lmao. Thanks for making such a beautiful story!
Ive never been so stressed playing a narrative puzzle game! 10 seconds has never felt shorter. I was so engrossed! i dont know how long i played for but i was hooked from begginning to end and was dissapointed when it ended.
Wow what a great game. I loved the idea and the mood was great. Nice touch with keeping the process in each episode and re showing the words to remember. It helped me so much to keep me in the game. I could have easily rage quit lol. I only though the word in the wordle was too hard, had to look it up at you doc in the end. But the relation between the puzzles were well thought too. Good job everyone! well done!
That's so emotional! Recently I get reconnect with one of my old friend oversea as well... oh so much things to be rememorized... I love the mood and narrative of this game! Great entry!
Nice unique take on the art with the theme for this ludum dare. Quite challenging!
Woah, this had me gripped! Even though I was finding the puzzles very hard I had to keep going (and I got to the end  Amazing job!
very pretty and such an original idea :)
Very cool sound, art and vibe! Amazing job!
Damn. This was unexpected, in a good way. Very nice idea with the puzzles and the story aspect. But overall just a great vibe, and well put together. Well done!
Loved the non-linear story-telling! The concept reminded me a bit Before Your Eyes. It was satisfying to piece everything together. Although the ten seconds limit didn't allow me to read all the text displayed during the mini-games. But I guess it's interesting too to have only fragments.
The puzzle I had the most difficulty with was the "wordle" one (maybe because I'm not a native english speaker, or also maybe because I'm terrible at it generally :p). But I still solved it eventually! All games felt satisfying to resolve, and they felt consistent with the story.
Globally the game provides a sweet story and mood. I had a good time discovering it!
Was moving a little too fast for me, was getting overwhelmed at nearly every puzzle lol. Interesting take on a renpy game though
The graphics, mood and story are absolutely perfect. We had a pretty similar idea at the start of our brainstorming: a narrative driven game with a bunch of minigames to tell different moments in someone's life. We then completely discarded it because we thought it would be too hard to implement a series of minigames you could do in 10 seconds without it beeing too punishing. Your solution of looping the gameplay is perfect and it really gives a sense of progress without feeling stuck and made it really enjoyable to play! The minigames themselves weren't that original but I think that aids the game: since you don't have time to explain the gameplay making it really intuitive is key. The graphics are just stellar and really sell the mood! Amazing Work!
I think the execution on the theme was a pretty neat way of conveying Myles' state of mind. I was very tense at the start because I wasn't certain if there was a fail condition (there isn't thankfully) but more relaxed and focused as the game went on. Even if their situation wasn't relatable to me, I found that I was still engaged with the story through the gameplay. It all came together very nicely!
Everyone says the wordle puzzle is hard, but that crossword puzzle kicked my ass!
This was very stressful. 😂
I enjoyed the puzzles and the feeling of your thoughts jumping around, but damn, finding words in 10 seconds is hard! The story was very cute!
Games like this are what I mean when I say the word "narrative indie games". Absolutely amazing. The way these puzzles break up the story while adding to the emotions at the same time? Top notch.
character design was so good. I loved him so much. You dont really get much story games in Game jam and you managed a solid story told through gameplay. It was very stressful, and I think perhaps the theme limited you in that regard as it would have been better given the choice to explore the other games before continuing the story as I switched constantly between them and the word search was the worst one as it would take too long to find the words. Despite this its a nice solid game overall.
Amazing and Enjoyed the game. fully polished game. Each and Every Steps are Aligned Properly and Very nice Graphics. Good One.
I really enjoyed playing this game. Great puzzles and challenges. Well done.
This isn't a game, it's more like an experience. 10 seconds is a bit short interval for these kinds of puzzles, but I guess that's part of the experience.
Great stuff – strangely addictive haha... I ended up wanting to keep going to the next challenge
This was an experience, the story and the puzzles worked very well together. Very effective.
Great game! Loved the use of the theme for the narrative and overall presentation. 10 seconds is probably not enough time for an interval for some the puzzles and it got pretty annoying with some of them, but I definitely was captivated enough to keep going until the end.
Wow, this was... really touching. Finally a realistic simulator of what it's like to have serious conversations with ADHD, haha! I kid, I kid.
No, but I really adore the design of this one. You did so much with just a few simple mechanics. The best part is how much the gameplay supports the feeling/experience of the game. Having an emotionally difficult conversation with your best friend (who you have feelings for) and everything finally clicking into place, and things becoming clear, portrayed literally through sorting out the turmoil of your thoughts as represented by puzzles until it's all solved and there is nothing more distracting you, it's perfect.
Perfect incorporation of the theme, too, and a special shout-out for the anti-frustration features. I was incredibly grateful that once I was at the "Take your time" stage of dialogue, that screen was down to 3 seconds instead of 40 so I didn't have to wait long before getting back to the last remaining puzzle.
An extremely rewarding experience, than you.
Suprised to see puzzle game made with renpy. Very good art!
