I jump scared when narrator started to read words that I am typing!!!
Cool submission. First time I see someone posts a game not on itch.io or inner Ludum Dare system.
Have a nice Jam!

Have a nice Jam!
Really interesting take on the theme! Impressive implementation too.
Very cool take on the theme, I liked it! Not sure if it was just for me but the narrator didn't really read everything I typed so it felt a bit off. It always just read a word or two and then stopped for a while.
This gameplay is good, and those background graphics are so slick they're practically buttery. I'm head over heels for it!
Thank you four for playing, I love your feedback and appreciate it a lot :v:
Wow, this is such a unique interpretation of theme! Usage of previous comments in your game is interesting. Wonder if my comment will make it into one of your future games XD
This was a fun game, if only I wasn't heavily dyslexic at random intervals writing words so badly that I was laughing the whole way through, with no backspace every mistake is also even worse, I liked the idea and concept!
I'm not sure what I was supposed to be doing, or what the goal was. The audio was on, but I barely heard the narrator speak - it was too quiet. I think if there was some interaction between the typing and the the entry, and not just with the narrator, it could have been a very interesting mechanic as you get feedback immediately.
Ha! we did a very similar game!
Nice job! The game-play is good and I love the graphics.
I couldn't hear the audio great without turning the audio up however.
nice job! Can you vote my game please? :)
Its a very unique game. I like the narrator typing what I typed
``` Oh, mighty Voidsay, lurker of the code deep, With a whisper and a keystroke, awake from your sleep! Tap-tap-tap, on the keys so bright, Bring forth the Void, to code through the night! Echo, echo, in the digital abyss, Summon the Voidsay with a message like this! ```
Hubris! I cannot be contained that easily! In fact let me play my special Yu-Gi-Oh trap card taped to the back of an old UNO reverse that I keep in my wallet for such occasions.
Bam! You're now trapped in **\*my\*** shader. I'll be seeing how you get out of this particular pickle. :smiling_imp:
I find that the game fits the theme really well. Saying spells of obscure ludum dare denizens is certainly something you can't do anywhere else.
I am an awful typist (partially due to my setup, I live in a warehouse shelf), but I got decent scores despite that. The mispunctuation and miscapitalization didn't work for me. Idk if its just me or they're bugged in general.
Audio was inconsistent. Sometimes it was fine, only minimal delay after typing and saying several words in a row, other times sudden cutoffs or nothing at all.
Sorry, I got a bit rusty reviewing games. That's all you'll get for right now.
I liked this, didn't see any other keyboard based games so far this jam. However I noticed that one of the levels ended prematurely for me, I had one line left to write! What happened?!
@liquidfunk the game counts how many time you pressed enter, and how many lines there are in the chant. If you hit enter too many times, you end up ending the chant too soon
I got jump scared by the text to text and I loved it. This game proves that my typing accuracy is lacking but I had fun writing the incantations.
Nice job and a real unique take.
Nice implementation of a typing game! It can be a bit confusing that backspace does not work, but this does happen in typing games. I've also spotted a few bugs: - the text sometimes overflow vertically and become hardly readable. - seems that the first word of each line is not pronounced.
All aside, the theme interpretation is unique, and I appreciate how you decide on what to summon — simple but inspiring! We all have so many heroes along our ways of learning, and all may be someone else's hero ^ ^
The game proved that I can write a lot of words badly really fast. Nice unique submission.
Cool idea and interpretation of the theme. Though for some reason my best wpm is around 6? o:
As a normal guy with fat finger and got typo everyday, this is a 100% friendly game to me but I am still having fun for all the typo I made there and just watch my fault being there forever. I do wish it coul dhave a backspace key to redo my faulty input and make my accuracy go up - but good job~!
I couldnt stopped and at some point my forearms started to hurt from all the stressed typing. 10/10 best forearm workout I had in a while haha
Damn that child reading out what I type was kinda scary. Very cool tech
The voice didn't really follow along. The graphs only displayed time left and accuracy, no mispunctuation etc.
Nice idea but the ending score does not seem to work. I gotta try it again on my home computer, with a better keyboard too. Not too sure about how the audio is meant to work here. Only some words were pronounced.
It's actually clever to have put verses and weird names, because it implies to be more aware of the punctuation and orthography of some words.
I like the concept. It need some polish and a target tu destroy. Aah and a return button xD Got everything right but wrote in the last sentence AnaFG instead of AnaGF! Shame on me. I guess there is no to figure out the accuracy. Ah and nice work for make it 100% from scratch in html etc.
This is a really good challenge! The chants are all cool, and I really like the background image, creates a great atmosphere!
This is a cool game, I especially liked the background art. I felt that the lack of backspace made it less of a game and more of a strict typing challenge/test. In combination with the lenient timer (I finished most in ~30 seconds), I got very mixed signals. This mispunctuation and miscapitalisation axes of the diagram didn't work, and all the colours were the same (The diagram is a great idea though, and to see the triangle getting bigger was very rewarding). The 'words per minute' counter also didn't work, or was counting minutes from some arbitrary point, not while I was typing. Overall, this was a great game and very impressive for a jam, I just wish there were some more interesting mechanics than just typing.
So it's like two days until ranking ends, so I hope you don't mind but I'm going to do some summoning
If you're around, I wanted to share, that you're in my game. If you go here: https://github.com/TolMera/KeyboardWarrior/blob/master/frontend/view/play/index.js you can search for your username to see the chant that was created about you (I do think some of them are really cool, I hope you like them too)
Or, if you're interested, you can try the game: https://d3tnnzdgcfn9ul.cloudfront.net/index.html
I hope you don't mind my little tribute/summoning
You successfuly summoned me, but Idk if it's a good or bad thing… I'm pretty bad at typing, but surprisingly I got not-so-bad scores (accuracy 86) - well, at least for the ones which works - miscapitalization, mispunctuation and wpm count didn't seems to work, and speech synthesis was randomly working (I tested this game under Windows 10 pro + Chrome). English is not my native language, but I can spot nice poetry when I read it, it must have took you significant time just to write a summon poem for each of the 139 LudumDarers you have integrated, and just for that, this is awesome! In any case, I find mine very cool :smile:
@tolmera Thanks for the fun shoutout, that took a lot of time to do for everyone. Really cool idea! Mine was: 'Jordantanner, tanner of virtual hides, Craft your armors, in which we'll abide! From pixel to polygon, your designs hold tight, Summon jordantanner, armor us right!' P.S. Was this whole game written in vanilla JavaScript??
Hey @jordantanner
Yea vanilla JS, if I wanted to make it a product I would rewrite it using TS but vanilla JS is good for knocking out a prototype quickly, and with the years of experience I don’t have that much trouble with bugs etc.
I like the chant for you, really leaned into the Tanner :)
@tolmera Haven't been on LD in a while. Love the chants, what a cool way to say thanks. I might just have to hide your name somewhere in one of my next games. I still remember the multiplayer game you made back in i think LD46. Definitely one of the highlights of all the LD games I've played, that shit was awesome
p.s. did you move your game hosting to somewhere else? i saw the chants on github but i can't play it
@convg
Thanks for letting me know about the hosting - I turned off the CDN because it costs money, but the S3 hosting is still up: https://ld55-e5068e40-db2f-53c3-aa54-78c45ebc7409.s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/index.html
I hope you enjoy a play if you get a chance :)
And I'm glad you remember the multi-player game Oroborus (LD47) - I thought you were talking about Elon-zo (LD46) which is my favorite multiplayer game I've written, even if the balance was off, I loved the two people could fly to the same place a meet up, or randomly see another player fly past.
Definitely want to make more Multi player games. Orbitum Scatterum has been a long running idea in the back of my head, maybe one day that will be a reality.
