Awesome game! One of the coolest concept of the game where tower-defense & driving mixed. All components are working, even cut-scene!!! Well done! ദ്ദി( • ᴗ - ) ✧

Very cool game, the tutorial was very funny and I enjoyed smushing all the bugs!! Almost didn't survive the ending, also the graphics are awesome!
This is such a good entry. The graphics and overall atmosphere of the game is great. The tutorial is so good especially given the amount of time we had! The only complaint I have is that the car kind of starts to freak out as it catches up to the mouse and starts to try and move towards itself over and over again.
The walkie talkie is icing on the cake. Well done!
Wow... it has a tutorial! I enjoyed playing it and loved the take on tower defense genre! Some bugs were smart and jumped over the truck while I tried to run over them to save the apple. I see myself playing a more fleshed out version of it!
Really liked the in game tutorial!
I also loved the art and had fun playing this game. This is the best one I've seen so far
Very satisfying :)
This is a really nice entry
I just tested your game, and I’m really impressed! It’s great that you managed to include a tutorial—it really enhances the experience.
The concept is so much fun, and controlling the buggy feels satisfying. I did notice a weird jiggly behavior when controlling the buggy while holding down the mouse over it.
Also, the scale of the apple in relation to the buggy was a bit confusing. But I liked how the buggy moves slower over water; it's a nice touch!
Overall, you did a fantastic job, especially considering the short time, this is so cool and polished! 😊
I love the driving around to crush bugs, early stages I sat on the entrance and let them die by walking into me but once they started coming from every side, it was much harder haha! cool concept and fun experience.
Wow, this is a great little game! It gets pretty overwhelming later on since you don't have any other way of protecting the apple, though. The graphics are also amazing. Nice work!
I loved the polish in this game. It's insane that is was made only in 2 days by a single person!!!
Absolutely incredible that you managed to put this together in 2 days. Very fun!
I can't believe you finished such a smooth game in 2 days! It's great!!
Cute! Enjoyed the game :)
The first couple levels taught me some bad habits. I simply parked the car on the path and watched the bugs kill themselves.
I enjoyed my time playing this! Well done!
This game is amazing! The combination of tower defense and driving is just a genius idea! 🚗💨 I really liked the funny instructions, as well as the graphics, which create a great atmosphere. 🎨
Crushing insects is just fun! 😂 Although it was really difficult at the end, the game keeps you on your toes. Overall, this is a great job! 👏🏻 Good luck in the future! ✨
Really good entry very enjoyable, I had no hope in the end though I kept bashing the rock
Good concept! Graphics are simple and efficient love it!
omg your design is really so cute, and game is awesome, i love it!
Pretty solid entry, especially for compo. The level/wave progression could have been more gradual, in this first waves you can just park the car at the spawn point and have the bug run into it and suddenly the last wave floods you from every direction.
Btw it works on linux via wine.
Very nice game, i enjoyed squashing the bugs and the difficulty scale is really nice. the buggy bugs out a bit when it catches up to the cursor but that rarely happens.
Excellent game! Nice to actually have a tutorial. Very fun other than the final wave being literally unwinnable.
Really liked this game! It's very well polished, the sfx and graphics were really cohesive and overall lovely. Crushing the insects was hella fun! I think if you had had the time to implement some kind of currency / upgrade system, this would be the cherry on top (of course that's hard with only 48 h, it's impressive you managed to do this in such a short time)
Vehicular Antslaughter!
Amazing game! Loved it very much!
Thank you all for the amazing feedback! I'm doing my best to play/rate/comment everyone's game.
@william-corrin @chariot @julester You have no idea how much that car jitter when it's near to the mouse bugs (hah) me. The current control scheme was my "temporary" movement that I threw together in ~10 minutes so that I could test the game, until I had the time to implement proper acceleration, steering, etc. You can see how well that turned out
@budster16 @eerongal @balimaarthebassfish @sviborg @pschichtel @olsonexi Yeah the difficulty curve is absolutely borked. I apologize that it goes from super slow, to extremely difficult. I ran out of time and had to throw most of the waves together during submission hour. Didn't even have time to play test it.
@jejkobb @sirblazealot Thank you, it took me like ~10 years of competing on and off to realize that a solid tutorial is one of the most important things you can do to give users an enjoyable experience from the get-go.
@patomkin OMG that is such a perfect name, I wish you were around when I was trying to come up with one! My first thought was "Roach Rally," but the game didn't have cockroaches in it lol.
Cool game! I liked it.
Great concept! The mix of driving and tower defense with a picnic theme is super creative. The pixel art is charming, and squashing bugs with the buggy is really satisfying. The tutorial was a nice touch, though the difficulty spikes at the end. Overall, a fun and polished game!
Cool idea with a nice tutorial and humor. Balancing is a bit off, especially the first waves where you can just stand still and wait for the bugs to kill themself by running into the car compared to the last wave. Interesting concept of combining vehicular warfare with classic tower defense.
btw no worries about antivirus detection, everything is good https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/a22dbda5fd357f3d88e5fea326f20c5d4f9b8b474d6e411e7ed0d010de306e76
@jarrrkob thanks for checking on Virus Total! My LD55 game gave quite a few people a hassle with Windows SmartScreen, so I preemptively uploaded my game to [Microsoft's malware analysis](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmission) portal. I've heard that this is a good way to build up a trusted reputation for an unsigned application, but not entirely sure if that made a difference.
I enjoyed the game! It was satisfying running over hoards of bugs with the vehicle, and there was a nice variety of bugs to kill. The Lady Bugs were the hardest (once bugs started coming from multiple directions), since running into them stopped the vehicle's momentum. It's also cool seeing games limit themselves to a small number of inputs, it tends to make games that feel fluid to control.
I was caught off guard a little bit for wave four when the phone said they were coming from one direction, but didn't mention the other directions they were coming from. Not necessarily a bad thing, just an interesting surprise when I heard the bugs start chomping.
It's awesome that you had time to add a full tutorial (with camera panning, even). It was a little long, mostly because the text stayed on screen for a while. It might be nice to have a way to skip through the text, though I'm not sure how you'd do that and still keep it a one-button game.
I died to the final hoard, but it was chaotic and fun to watch.
It's a good idea, but it's bad that the car is twitching and there's not enough minimap
I'll be honest.
The game looks nice, the graphics are special. I like the isometric view of the car.
But the game objectively has too little depth for its length. It's a bit drawn out. Like, you just drive at bugs. It's simple and normal, but too long. I saw at least three types of bugs. Most interesting is flying, but it isnt enough for game length anyway.
Game is okay. Graphics is good! :v: I'll give it a like for the graphics.
As always, I try to rate games objectively, no need to be offended, sorry :3 At all game is normal.

Awesome game! Gameplay is fun, graphics is good and the it fits the theme perfectly. I made it to the finaly and lost with only 2 bugs left aghh!
Very good!
Huhh, that was really close! :D sdadas.png
At first I thought that the game is a bit slow, and not challenging, but the last 2 levels were really fun, congrats! :) I had only one issue: the camera is a bit slow on following the truck, so by the time I reach the spawnpoint of a wave, I'm a the edge of the screen and have to wait for the camera to show my the bugs. :D Anyway, nice and juicy entry, good job! :)

Its a very big job for 2 days! And everything is in cool one style. Car is shivering when cursor on it.
Very pretty artstyle and pretty fun game overall! Very polished game :)
Incredibly fun and unique game, well done!
I love the art. You did a fantastic job of the car's controls. That can be hard to get just right with a moving camera. Bumping into stuff was just the right amount of punishing to add challenge without frustration.
Why can't I rate Audio, never felt this nerved up on a guy chewing apple sfx haha. The difficulty curlve is a bit steep, tutorial and first 3 or 4 waves are a bit plain... But the end one is quite a lot of fun!
@wo-ri-gou-le I opted out of Audio ratings because I want to be respectful of people's time and get intentional feedback on the other categories. I already know the audio is a weak point in this game, and figured people would appreciate not having to rate every single category.
Hope that makes sense!
Such a fun concept and game! Even though the first few levels are pretty easy, because all the bugs also get squashed by a standing car.
Solid game. Little slow, but all the graphics are so sweet and amazing. I love the animations of all the bugs. I barely made that and got the just a core ending.whoa.png
Hey, im the host for Score Chasers this year and wanted to ask if youre fine with me using gameplay from the game in this LDs [score chasers tournament](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/$405421/ludum-dare-score-chasers-qualification-begins) intermission video. (Would play in the breaks of the tournament on my stream). Last LD for reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuddhZScWxo
JUST about made it!

I've seen quite a few "Protect the picnic from the ants" games in this Jam, and this is 100% the most creative and well-executed of that idea. Very singular vision and a wonderfly viby art style too.
Congrats dev :)
I join the ranks of the people who only had a core left. It was a real close thing too, I had no life left, I was sure the last ant left was going to eat the rest of the apple in an ironic twist, those were some tense seconds until I got to it. But that final rush of the bugs was awesome, that was great, just rushing around rolling over bugs. That felt really satisfying. The art and sound effects were great too, the really add to how good this game feels to play. I also liked the text from the superior officer, they were both helpful in giving directions and funny, those were a great addition. I had a lot of fun playing this game, amazing job, well done!
@ategon Go for it. Good luck with your tournament!
This is fantastic! I love the cool pseudo-3d graphics, the controls are fun, and I liked the different variety of bug types! They were too cute though, I felt bad running them over ;-; Also major props for including a full interactive tutorial as well in your compo game, wow!!
That was a very frantic last wave! Driving around was lots of fun! For your records, here’s the recorded stream 😊👍 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eJqrAXg0kg
