This game is so cool! I loved it!
Respect for Linux-only version ;)
@marra Here it is = ) Two versions are now available, one as the game was monday evening (the "midnight version") and an "early pot jam" (because we plan to more soon :p)
@brainles-etertainment Thank you xD But not anymore.The windows version is now available, thanks to MSYS2.
Cool game, loved the sound design
I love the style, nice :)
Great graphics, but the controls are a little bit difficult to use, especially for some of the platforming. A really interesting idea, however. Nice work!
Yes, we agree x) @eerongal.
The game was more at the beginning supposed to be a puzzle game (the game physics and the clunckiness of the character are - more or less - designed to be this way) but went too far on the platform side with the original level design. The new level is closer to what we were looking for at the beginning.
Interesting graphics and the game itself is cool. I also liked the music in the game
Great work! I love the art style, feels super dungeon-y and the music fits perfectly! Congratulations on completing the jam!
The music works really well with the visual style, and you have an ambitious concept. I did get repeatedly stuck 'mid-fall' on parts of the environment that looked like I should easily be able to walk past or jump up onto, and unfortunately this stopped me from proceeding. I liked the touch of having a pre-game splash screen for your team.
love the artwork and the mood <3 (also had some problems but fro a game jam that's normal) and for this being the team's first game jam you guys did a great job! ^^
The mood and art are great and the concept is fun. Thanks so much for making a Linux build. I did have some issues with the file extension being wrong(super easy fix) and it crashing on the intro a few times. I am super impressed that this was built from scratch without a pre-baked engine. Really stellar work for your fist Jam. I hope you folks do more in the future.
Very interesting entry. The music and creatures really set the mood. Also writing this in C. As a programmer I feel your pain. That alone deserves 5*.
Really solid entry, love the art style and sound design. I also always have to love a native Linux build, really appreciate that!
impressive game with a great mood! never heard of LibLapin before but im really impressed! been looking for a good tool in C for making games... too bad all the resources are in French :P
@mackain Thank you = )
About LibLapin It is a library I've designed years ago to teach at the same time graphics and audio programming while strengthening mastery of C programming. I've added so many tools inside (that my students can't use - because they got to reprogram everything by themselve before bulding stuff like 3D engines from pixel arrays :-p.) that it became the library I use for my 'commercial' games.
You can switch the language of the website by clicking on a flag at the bottom right of https://liblapin.org :p https://github.com/Damdoshi/LibLapin But to be honest, this website was not designed to be really a complet course - my school, "L'EFRITS" was designed to do that x) (..And it is not fully up to date, the kind of thing that happen when you're alone :') )
LibLapin main strength, in the context of a game jam, I think remains in the ability to load configuration files instead of directly loading resources like PNG files, giving the ability to remove a lot of code from C or C++ and simplify greatly regular objects like sprite manipulation. It can load a bunch of different formats but mostly rely on my own format 'Dabsic'. It can be pretty verbose thought.
Ah, this caught my eye and I was happy to see 'first game jam' (looks promising for a first jam) and also a link to a linux build, but that seems to have a windows executable in it?
None of the links worked for me :(
Very impressive presentation for a game made in C, the lighting and particle effects are such a flex for a jam game using custom tech.
@picttarge It is an regular ELF file we named game.exe to avoid having to change its name while compiling on Windows.
@ellearx You may have an alert for security - because those are ZIP files going throught a regular HTTP communication. Your browser needs a confirmation before going on. Try clicking right on it to open your contextual menu and save it throught that way.
@triggthediscovery Thank you! Did you also spot fire and water cellular automaton? :p
The links are not working!
We are working on it. It will be back as soon as possible
@pietmichal We have hosted the early post jam version on another domain.
impressive game, great job with C
The atmosphere you created is really immersive, the art and sound work perfectly together. I really liked the critter mechanics, but the controls felt a bit tricky at times. Gj!
Btw, links are broken, only github works.
"I love how the theme is cleverly interpreted, and the visuals are stunning. God job!
@nazariglez Thank you :)
nfs.efrits.fr server's fixed. Links are working again.
Impressive game, great art and good concept, well done!
good game, great aesthetic, overall fun experience!
