LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep It Alive by danman9914 2020-04-20T05:31:30Z

Great stuff all around, I'm kinda amazed how you managed to add variety across the different stages, crescendoing with the other train in the final stage. From sound, to art, to the rhythmic action pumping and shoveling, just spectacular.

Torcher by Evergreen Games 2020-04-21T04:47:41Z

I like how creative it gets with the music, and the soundtrack is great. I would love to see these mechanics is a bigger game!

Guard'ner by superjai 2020-04-23T00:02:46Z

Really like the art/style of the game. It has a good chill vibe. I'm not sure how the difficulty ramps, but I think the hotkeys make managing a single plant a little easy, I got to 7 minutes before moving on.

Feed Me, see more by triggthediscovery 2020-04-21T02:33:01Z

@dooskington Yeah, I wish I had more time to implement camera collision to prevent it from getting lost in the walls. I did it before for a game I made a while ago, but I remember it taking long enough to implement to make it a big ask for 48 hours.

Feed Me, see more by triggthediscovery 2020-04-22T01:24:09Z

@itskdog After the compo, I was looking around and there are like 10 games called feed me, and I felt very silly for it. (if you replace the feed-me-see-more in the URL with feed-me-1, feed-me-2, feed-me-3, feed-me-4, feed-me-5, and feed-me-6 you get 6 different games right there)

Morphology by Shess 2020-04-21T23:46:20Z

Great stuff! The art and the music give the game a really strong vibe, the gameplay can be obtuse, but I also the the impression that was the point.

Todd and Bobb's Excellent Adventure by bigbadollie 2020-04-21T03:35:39Z

Good stuff, I especially liked the progression and the different areas, felt like an epic journey up and out of the catacombs. Checkpoints would have helped, I died at the final three stones a couple times, but honestly it made it feel even better when I finally got out.

Don't Kill Gil by webthingee 2020-04-21T00:11:59Z

It's cute, and I love the music. The gameplay would have benefited from being a bit more forgiving, my first run was unwinnable because of bad luck, which was unfortunate. I liked the idea of card counting (I assume the deck is always the same set of cards), it added an interesting risk vs reward layer which helped.

Courier of Fire by Balgorode 2020-04-21T05:09:06Z

Cool physics mechanics + good level design = a pretty good game. As mentioned by others, the way mechanics are slowly introduced, and then combined in new and interesting ways keeps the game interesting long past where most of these games peter out.

It's Just a Burning Memory by Kent Reese 2020-04-23T00:20:21Z

I really liked the atmosphere, I would love to see a horror game with this vibe!

Absolutely Authentic Streaming Experience™ by Whismirk 2020-04-21T01:36:29Z

I like the timer on top of the card game mechanics, I definitely insulted a lot of children in the panic. I think I broke the viewer count though, cause after a while it got stuck at 0, lol.

King's Table by PetTurtle 2020-04-20T04:50:56Z

Great game, a lot of deep strategy in seemingly simple rules. I think some indication of chip health remaining might have been helpful, but honestly that doesn't matter much in the later waves. The one thing that would have been cool was a fast forward, but even so it was a lot of fun and I managed to get to wave 30!

Emberkeep by T C 2020-04-21T01:51:17Z

Good stuff, the enemy/obstacle variety was really nice, and when I saw the ending corridor with all of the turrets and enemies, it was a climactic moment which made me heart skip a bit.

Blue by tri11paragon 2020-04-21T01:23:33Z

I like the vibe, I think some extra variety would have helped justify the length. I was playing for about 5 minutes and still had plenty of wood in my immediate area. Some world-level mechanic like day/night or weather can help up the steaks when venturing for more wood. That said, I liked the art and sound, it had a good vibe.

LD49 — Unstable

Meltdown: The Complete Guide to Reactor Maintenance. by triggthediscovery 2021-10-06T03:27:02Z

@zachary-granger Upon playing more jam games, I get the impression I went a bit too far in a few places lol.

Meltdown: The Complete Guide to Reactor Maintenance. by triggthediscovery 2021-10-09T10:11:17Z

@bassguitarbill The balance changes happened because of a major bug which actually broke a major mechanic (that I was unaware of until after launch). The fix made several levels impossible to complete, so I buffed the in game tools so the game could be finished.

I did make a couple additions to the manual to clarify mechanics, which I could lay out in detail, but I honestly don't see the difference between changing that and adding clarification/additions to the rules outside of the game.

I also felt the changes I made were in line with the rule about bugfixes stated in the rules "if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline". I have always included the source files from release, and in case that's insufficient I've also went back and included the release executable if you're stringent about the release experience.

Meltdown: The Complete Guide to Reactor Maintenance. by triggthediscovery 2021-10-12T00:16:26Z

@erikkire The Zachtronics influence was definitely intentional, I'm a huge fan of their games.

Heat Death by zeta0134 2021-10-09T01:56:47Z

Great game! loved how reactive the chat box was!

Unstable Hospital by LittleDaimon 2021-10-08T23:39:41Z

I really liked the look of the UI, and thought the sound/music was very appropriate, but think I might have been doing something wrong iwth the gameplay. While I was able to "cure" a couple patients (as in, reduce their instability to 0), they just kinda walked around continuing to generate money, and it didn't go towards the cured total in the ui. Is there a final step that I'm missing, or is something wonky?

My issues aside, I like seeing these management/sim games at LD, I wish there were more like this!

UnstaBall by WilloXs 2021-10-07T01:24:39Z

Really good, I liked how puzzle like some of the levels got near the end there, had to fight against my urge to barrel through everything.

Electro-Twixt by RubixNoob13 2021-10-07T01:50:48Z

I thought it was fun, really liked the art style. It would have been nice if you didn't pick up a battery if you were already at full charge, as I kept walking over piles of them and being like "welp."

Radioactive Guns 'n' Stuff by DriagonV 2021-10-06T03:05:33Z

Pretty fun. In the time I played, it seemed the enemy spawns were constant, this is the sort of game I want to get increasingly hectic as you play. I like the switching mechanic, and while I did find the fire rate slow at first, I liked the added sense of tension it gave when 2-3 guys managed to group on me.

Game Invaders by Adrieldf 2021-10-09T05:41:48Z

Fun game! Very zen, until later when it gets very hectic.

Variable Volatility by Kimbsy 2021-10-06T01:40:52Z

Good fun, very frantic. Would have liked to see a highscore/longest run feature, as I would have gladly went a few more rounds had I been able to one up myself.

B1OCK by GregoryBlomquist 2021-10-09T00:05:03Z

Great atmosphere, I could feel the tempo of my key presses increase as I slowly got closer and closer to getting all the evidence, and as my health slowly drained to 0. While I expected there was some sort of alternate ending (dumb me didn't read the manual first) I'm kinda too terrified to go get all the evidence again, lol. Great work.

Edit: also, I forgot the voice acting. The idea that most/all the music (even the creepy droning) would be retro inspired, just to have a normal human talking in my ear was also great and absolutely terrifying.

Climb Mountain by Neeko69 2021-10-06T02:47:31Z

This game is a nightmare and I love it. I understand the technical issues mentioned above, but for me they all create an insanely charming cacophony of madness.

The Probability of Meltdown Is Minimal by DarthBoseiju 2021-10-06T22:02:04Z

Really good entry, I was panicking so hard at first before I "got" it. I finished with 34 seconds on the clock and I swear I was gonna have a heart attack.

Potion Master Incremental by Meredori 2021-10-09T02:08:38Z

Nice little game, would love to see it expanded.

High-Rise Havoc by Kyrell 2021-10-09T05:44:33Z

Great music, I think the debris would have been fun if it could take you out, but I get why you'd avoid that.

Angular momentum by VicoPTP 2021-10-06T03:54:22Z

Great premise, even when I realized how to drag the blocks, it's really hard. I think it's intentional, but you gotta be on a level of zen to complete that last stage (I couldn't lol.)

Cranky Robot by SkallyWags 2021-10-06T21:52:31Z

Well thought out, creative levels which built on each other well, good work.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Volcano Maintenance by jefvel 2022-04-07T04:22:28Z

This was really good, everything comes together to make for a fun arcade experience.

Heat Death by triggthediscovery 2022-04-08T01:49:34Z

@conradoclark Oh my, I'm happy you liked my game enough to play it that far! (I'm also happy the game didn't crumble to dust after that long).

A Thousand Islands, and One by esayitch 2022-04-07T12:36:06Z

Really liked the procedural generation on the islands! Also how well it fit in with the rest of the graphics. The blocky graphics and simple sound effects had almost an Atari vibe to it.

Heat Flow by wolderado 2022-04-10T09:07:43Z

Really like the clean look of this, the models and effects and the smooth way everything moves work great together.

Doomsday Cult by ConradoClark 2022-04-07T02:20:40Z

I liked this a lot, honestly didn't expect to play this as long as I did. I'm not sure if it's intentional, but the fact that skipping increases the number of cards received makes it possible to get some really high scores. This was my best run which didn't involve cheesing the skip mechanic (I think skipping past 2 stars is a bug)

Life of a Floof by MachWerx 2022-04-07T13:47:59Z

We are all the floof on this day.

I liked the atmosphere, I felt I was in a vaporwave dream.

Desert Defense by Rubyes 2022-04-05T11:06:43Z

Fun little game! I liked how different the gun feels before and after upgrades.

Healer's Handbook by javi7 2022-04-10T08:30:25Z

Great game. Graphics, sound, and gameplay are all top notch. I also like the story for what there is, it's probably the right amount for a small arcadey experience like this.

You shall not pass by Senso 2022-04-04T23:18:05Z

Liked the game play variety, I also liked how all the sound effects were just you saying the effects. I think some of the platforming was twitchier than I would have preferred, but it was still plenty playable. I managed to finish in 16:55.

Tamaghost Jump! by Kaiyaki 2022-04-05T04:25:48Z

Loved the art, the last level was a cool surprise.

Over Horde by StephanTTM 2022-04-10T07:09:34Z

A fun little game! I like the in game instructions, but I want to mention to anyone playing out that scrap and upgrades persist between runs. I didn't realize this at first and was kinda confused until I paid more attention.

Death and Taxes by DingoBandito 2022-04-05T04:05:48Z

I like it, I like how you can go from joining the mafia one week to working a little overtime the next, and I liked all the little flourishes on the cards. The difficulty seems to plateau (assuming you don't sell your soul) since the "new job" compounds. I got to day 150 and was making 50$ a day and nothing could really stop me.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Junkyard Space Race by BoxedMeatRevolution 2022-10-09T07:32:01Z

Fun game! The art & music all fit together really well, I liked all the little incidental animations in the UI. I wish it was a little harder, it would have been cool if upgrades rest upon the ship blowing up.

Forging Through Fire by ryusui 2022-10-06T06:00:20Z

Great little game! I commend you, this is the first game I've played which paced the 10 second loop well. I think you found a really good balance point where the game wasn't boring (too much time) or frustrating (too little time).

10 Second Farm by Quoclon 2022-10-05T04:21:57Z

Nice little game! Loved the graphics, I think the rapid jumping added to the hectic atmosphere.

Radar by bbaf 2022-10-12T01:47:03Z

I like it a lot, at first it was frustrating that the radar spun so slowly (though that's just the theme), but it made it super tense after I started missing enemies.

Dice Against Time by Rowdy3 2022-10-07T05:07:35Z

Well made game! I think the game would have benefited from giving specialty dice more often (or giving two at once), I liked the strategy of flipping/rerolling certain dice when I had the chance.

Puzzlebot by Lucas Simmons 2022-10-05T05:13:14Z

I like the music and the robot guy you play as. The game's really hard, a lot harder than I was expecting. The way progress isn't maintained between hitting the checkpoints really ratcheted up the tension in the later levels. I wish I saw your note about the last level before playing, though that's on me.

Another LAST 10 seconds by Serxiolas 2022-10-07T04:09:23Z

Fun little gag game, great execution!

Run hunt repeat by Rafale25 2022-10-09T07:38:28Z

Really good game, I wish I had the same restraint in my games. It's very simple but works really well.

LD53 — Delivery

Crazy Ambulance by triggthediscovery 2023-05-11T06:57:50Z

I agree the physics aren't really what I'd like them to be. Some of that is the code, some of that is how I built the world. I fixed the medic freezing issue in the postjam version, I wish I caught that in my limited testing. The camera is also a little less aggressive in the postjam version, but I think the physics add an unavoidable jitteryness/awkwardness which would be hard to fix without more major changes.

Thanks for the feedback!

Delivering Justice by IgorFolz 2023-05-11T04:30:53Z

Really liked the presentation, and am a big fan of the Ace Attorney games, and I think you almost scratched that itch. I don't really mind the lack of interactivity, honestly some of the logic in the AA games is pretty threadbare so a game which focuses more on big choices has appeal, but I wasn't able to find too much there which really pointed in a strong direction (though I did have questions, like why was she paying a mortgage if she already had a house in the inheritance.) Perhaps the intent was for the player to think more about the ethics of the situation, but the small details in the evidence muddled that for me.

Either way, I really liked the art/sound design, especially in the context of a game jam!

Ray Ledger: Midnight Run by zantze 2023-05-12T04:42:47Z

Liked the atmosphere, especially the music. I also liked how the city had distinct sections, could learn parts of it over the course of a couple runs. Good work!

Schnosenfloot 2077 by Merotar 2023-05-13T02:06:47Z

I liked how you couldn't direct the drones while seeing what's ahead, cool risk reward, very doom 3.

Crazy Traffic by misscafeina 2023-05-13T02:39:27Z

And here I thought I lived in an unwalkable neighborhood.

Finished in 1:07, but I agree there's a lot of RNG. Big issue I had with the physics is how (I think) you're parented to the last car you were riding on. This is the "normal" way to do moving platforms in unity, but it has issues when if you don't deparent the object. There were a couple times I made a jump, it looked like I'd make it, but (I think) the motion of the car I jumped from threw me off course (even though I was in the air!). Optimally, you should deparent the player the moment they leave the car they jumped from, if possible. Apologies if I'm mistaken, but I've had that issue before so I figured I would throw my hat in.

Wheely Wheely Good Deliveries by Rolly 2023-05-13T02:56:56Z

I like it. There's a lot of arcade games which are centrally focused on making deliveries, but the bike controls, the physics, and the overall presentation make it stand out.

Subprime Shipping by TheGamerASD 2023-05-11T03:44:16Z

I liked the central mechanic, it was fun trying to thread the needle between keeping the boxes in and speed.

The Milwaukee Thrift Store by Retrisma 2023-05-08T06:05:04Z

I never knew Milwaukee had such a diverse and vibrant community.

All Odium Needs Is Love! by Skvader_418 2023-05-08T05:47:45Z

Nice little game! I think that for a game like this, some variety would have added a lot (moving enemies, objects, ect.) but also it's better to get something solid and finished than ambitious and broken, so I get it.

Delivery by Adam Jewell 2023-05-11T06:49:26Z

I like it. My primary issue is I'd like more, but that's a good problem to have.

Paper Boiii Menace by Aravell 2023-05-08T06:41:58Z

I love games where the only objective is creating chaos. The game did seem to be lagging out the more I played it, but I did break a lot of windo... I mean delivered a lot of papers.

Express Delivery by InfinateFalcon 2023-05-08T06:25:31Z

I think it's a fine foundation, the auto aim on the cannon made it possible to fire babies while driving at full speed, which was fun to pull off. But I also feel the kinda player-driven pacing (I gathered the "distance" upgrade determines the length of levels) made it all feel a bit aimless.

Nightmaremaid by vydra 2023-05-12T02:40:06Z

Cool tech! I delivered a few packages, but I also didn't notice anything change or escalate over my time with it. I think the low FOV is fine for a horror game though, it was hard to tell if I was simply getting lost or if the level was changing (I think it was the former, but I think there's something cool there). Either way good job!

Parcel Madness: The Last Delivery by Grocek 2023-05-12T02:12:31Z

Nice little platformer! Heads up for other players, I had to adjust the zoom in my browser to get levels to display properly, at 100% the edges of the level were cut off.

Bus Hostage ! by Aymco 2023-05-11T04:48:16Z

I enjoyed Tokyo drifting a bus to techno beats. My computer really struggled with it (my Firefox had an error, Chrome had poor performance). IDK, it might be worth uploading a local build, but it also might just be my computer's fault.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

The Fair Folk of Ridianfa by unpronounceable 2024-10-12T23:19:41Z

Super cool game! I managed to get the good ending (though on a second run with the spoiler info). I like how the ambiguity of the text interface matches the ambiguous nature of the creatures you're dealing with. Solid entry!

Snake Sleuth by triggthediscovery 2024-10-12T17:36:25Z

@sharploaded Yeah, the line detection algorithm isn't perfect. It should only clear chains of 5 or more, but sometimes it triggers on fewer. That said, I like it when chains keep auto clearing, so I'm going to leave it until after the jam lol. Thanks for the feedback!

Snake Sleuth by triggthediscovery 2024-10-12T17:39:38Z

@jellyfishhunter Yeah, the algorithm is completely random. If there was more time I could have given it some smarts to make that kinda situation less likely, but it sounds daunting.

Snake Sleuth by triggthediscovery 2024-10-20T19:01:31Z

@bernhard FWIW, I've managed to clear level 10. I don't have too much of a strategy, I kinda go into a flow state while playing. As other's have noted, luck also plays a huge factor sadly. I think if anything the timer is probably a little too generous, it's long enough you have time to realize you're in an impossible situation lol.

Looking back, it would have been pretty easy to reset the board if there were no moves available. The code for detecting lines is already there for the auto clearing, so a simple check and reset should be fairly trivial. I'll try to throw that in once the jam is over.

Down In The Well of Souls by damdoshi 2024-10-12T03:06:05Z

Very impressive presentation for a game made in C, the lighting and particle effects are such a flex for a jam game using custom tech.

Mini Beasts by cassowary 2024-10-12T03:48:23Z

Extremely good little puzzle game, it's wild that you made this in 48 hours. The music slaps.

Deadly Trails by David-Liddelow 2024-10-20T22:05:22Z

Really cool concept, great execution! Such a novel system for managing groups, and I'm surprised at how well it works as a mechanic. Despite being fairly chaotic, I felt like I could manage it if I used the items well. And it's a lot of game for a jam game, decent list of different items and levels. Good work!

Immune Invasion by goldenXD 2024-10-07T01:19:45Z

I like the additions you made to the classic twin stick. The shooting is fairly simple, but the cells and mutations add some structure to it. The difficulty ramps up quite quicker than I would have expected, I think the other aspects would have had more time to shine if it ramped up slower. That said, ramping up too quick is definitely better than too slow. Overall good work!

Look by sudocoffee 2024-10-12T08:06:01Z

Cool idea, an arcade-y version of this would be really fun. There's part of me that wants to be really slow and methodical, but also part of me wants to rush though. Also really cool rendering tech considering it's a compo game. My best was 11 on a run.

Creature Box by rainbeau 2024-10-12T02:45:10Z

I like the atmosphere, It's cool when all the little creatures are working together.

MICROSLAYER by jellyfishhunter 2024-10-12T02:14:56Z

Nice little game. Really liked the graphics. Felt like a melee version of Bezerk, if you are familiar with 50 year old arcade games.

Super Sayant by SockSteve 2024-10-07T00:59:44Z

Great scary atmosphere, good game for the October spirit. I tried a couple times, and it was unclear what was usually killing me, the death screen usually have what looks like a massive spider on it, but I'm not sure what it's pattern was, as I got familiar with the locations & patterns of the smaller spiders. Good work nonetheless!

LD58 — Collector

Marble Sky by Zathnic 2025-10-19T07:35:43Z

I love the ball mechanics, it's a really cool tension since I was constantly slightly overconfident in my ability to control the situation. It was kinda meditative, having to remind myself to slow down and let things play out instead of bashing the ball in there and making things worse. Good game!

Gemwright by Jimbly 2025-10-11T01:57:08Z

Really good! I'm impressed you have a leaderboard and everything! Took me 57 days, but I could probably get that down now that I understand the game.

Video Store Blitz by triggthediscovery 2025-10-08T22:52:49Z

@ugly-robot I considered scraping Wikipedia, but wasn't sure how that would work with the compo rules. That said, building a little Hollywood simulator was a lot of fun.

@noobman64 Ah, the no shelves issue is definitely a bug, should have included a failsafe for that condition. I'm a big RLM fan, so there's probably some subconscious inspiration there lol.

Salvage Dogs by James Dunlap 2025-10-07T00:50:54Z

It's really cool vehicle building tech, but the game doesn't really show it off as well as it could. The 5 minute level timer is kinda killer since the enemy AI gets lost and you just have to wait the timer out. I liked that it was a more experimental concept, jams are a great place for those.

Shifting Steward by PoshDan 2025-10-11T01:12:42Z

I like it, cleaver little puzzle game! Good difficulty, not great at this kinda of puzzle game but still managed to complete it.

The Legend of the Mondrokko by ditam 2025-10-19T07:51:09Z

I really like how it feels like a playable folk tale. Also, always love a native HTML/JS game, not enough people know how much you can do with them.

Bug Bequest by Bea 2025-10-07T01:02:48Z

Nice to see someone else trying to bring back the magic system of Arx Fatalis.

Soul collector! by Noobman64 2025-10-08T08:32:23Z

This is an effective compo game, little bit of writing, little bit of sound, basic concept. A greater than the sum of its parts game for me.

Mutiny's Last Reward by DubiousDuck 2025-10-07T01:24:33Z

Fun game with great execution! It does get pretty hard, but I managed lol. Screenshot 2025-10-06 182307.png

Afterlife Debt Collector by jscommander 2025-10-14T03:03:18Z

Cute game, fun art and music. Was a pretty breezy play through. Good Job!

Anthropocene Museum by ACartlidge 2025-10-08T01:41:04Z

Fun game! I liked that you were always making progress, it was easy to play to the end.

Counterfeit by Reglisse 2025-10-19T21:40:37Z

Impressive amount of different pieces and possible alternatives, that must have been a ton of work. Solid game!
