The sounds of the death of enemies and the character are a little loud, but in general the game turned out to be very good

igor-morgun 2022-10-04 16:18

Simple but gud

underlig 2022-10-04 16:37

Fun, i really like the switching concept, gives me a bunch of ideas that i want to see in some bigger games. Good job, you could make alot of fun with this, if you decide to put some more time and work.

Good work =)

The game was pretty fun and super simple! I really like the concept and the enemies' movement was quite satisfying, it made dodging feel really fun. Nice job!

wizzzle 2022-10-05 04:38

I like the simplicity

shane-acton 2022-10-05 21:45

Love the predator/prey thing. Satisfying

This game is amazingly addictive considering how simple the core mechanic is. And it so beautifully fit in the theme of the jam it feels like jam theme was created just for this game to exist. Overall, great idea, gameplay is really entertaining, visuals are simple but don't disturb from the gameplay in any way, which is all i need to enjoy this game. Congratulations, you did a amazing job here!

jonasmg 2022-10-06 08:06

Very simple iead but it works super well. Very good job!

theheheo 2022-10-06 21:18

Nice! Even though it was simple I really liked the visuals and the colors. The gameplay was fun, really liked the way the AI behaved, looked interesting. Overall nice entry!

aristurtle 2022-10-07 01:53

This was an interesting play. I liked that the layout of the room was different for each play session. The enemies scattering when it came time for me to hunt them was pretty funny. The gameplay is deep enough that I could start forming strats for luring the clusters to me before it changed so I could wipe a lot out in one go.

One suggestion I would make would be to add something either visually or audibly to indicate the timer. Unless I was missing it I didn't see anything like a countdown or anything indicating one. It would be useful so I could gauge if I need to pull back instead of chasing down an enemy since the hit detection and movement still occurs during the transitions.

lvl99chicken 2022-10-07 03:04

Fun play! Agree with the top comment about something to indicate the timer. I liked they transition effect when the roles reveresed, good feedack.

Cool concept! Very simple and easy to grasp. The game design made me start considering strategies I could use to better handle the difference between Hunt and Run.

tybantarnusa 2022-10-07 07:58

Simple but really fun! It actually feels good when you finally get to chase them. I feel like I got to take revenge on them lol.

Good job!

squimmy 2022-10-07 09:53

What a clever idea!

The presentation is a little spartan, but not enough to be off-putting. In fact, it works pretty well as a distinctive style for the game.

I particularly liked some of the emergent gameplay effects that occur, such as goading enemies to get close as possible to you so you can catch them easily when the timer flips. It makes for an interesting risk/reward system.

snappypath 2022-10-07 10:36

Simple but plays well

lauptimist 2022-10-07 11:20

Really love the minimalist design with a nice vibe when being the predator. Please think about us europeans and put ZQSD controls or use the arrow keys :)

rafale25 2022-10-07 12:34

@aristurtle @lauptimist @ivanek333 Thansk for the feedback, we're gonna try to fix those problems to make the experience a little smoother!

iquant 2022-10-07 12:45

@aristurtle @lvl99chicken Not sure about the timer (it would be a bit cheap of a solution imho), but currently the transition also serves as a warning because the switch happens a bit after the transition starts. It's not much time but it should be enough to start running in the opposite direction. We might need to add an earlier warning tho, perhaps a ticking sound or something.

wouter52 2022-10-07 14:29

This game is awesome! Classic case of 'easy to learn, hard to master'. Is the maze randomly generated?

Some feedback I have for you:

- This game could really use some music in the backrgound - I wish the arrowkeys would work. - This game could really use a scoreboard. I think it would be awesome to have some incentive to get even more points

rafale25 2022-10-07 15:53

@wouter52 Yes, the maze is procedurally generated, the code is on github if you want to dig in this mess.

Thanks for the feedback, we will try to release a patch soon.

jirrev 2022-10-08 14:44

Quick and effective, when the colors switched and I became 'god' the mechanic clicked for me. Real simple, real fun!

triggthediscovery 2022-10-09 07:38

Really good game, I wish I had the same restraint in my games. It's very simple but works really well.

tigerfinch 2022-10-09 12:22

A good example of how something quite simple can be very engaging and fun to play. Really like the graphics when you are the hunter.

skvader-418 2022-10-09 17:28

Really simple and really good nothing much to say to be honest maybe like a dash would have been nice but thats it

rafale25 2022-10-15 16:58

@ivanek333 @wouter52 @lauptimist I updated the game (just minor stuff) we added: - arrows for moving - menu when pressing Escape - button to choose between Qwerty and Azerty - slider for volume

wouter52 2022-10-15 18:33

Cool! That plays much better for me  Also, did you add transition effects? Or did I not notice that in my first run? Looks nice!

rafale25 2022-10-15 19:43

@wouter52 The transitions were already there, probably means they are good if you didn't notice :D

saintchristopher777 2022-10-16 17:07

Nice, simple game! Def think some background music would be a good addition.

sarah 2022-10-20 02:10

Sorry it took me so long to get back to your game! These kinds are games are always fun to play even though I'm terrible at them. It's super simple looking, but it works well enough. Overall, nice work!
