Very cool game. I loved being able to examine the evidence myself. Also, "the State of Texsla". lol.

I see the potential of a great game. Done well, this can succeed the Ace Attorney series. I loved being able to examine the evidences myself. The graphics and UI were greatly refined and it really did feel like a game. As of now, it's a prototype. None of the evidence really mattered in the end, as assissted suicide is strongly implied; and our final choice was rather a personal moral one rather than figuring out facts and evidence. That in itself is fine, I just feel that the game mechanics of investigating evidence can strongly benefit from the latter. If you can somehow manage to do both (along with more research on legal matters), the game may be able to hit the vacant spot that Ace Attorney has unfortunately left of for some time now..
Oh I forgot to mention... I can't believe I didn't think of "delivering justice."
edit: Hey.. I feel like it could be me overreacting, but some of you guys need to rate others in order to be rated and exposed. I was going through the games I rated just in case I missed anything and you guys were the only ones not receiving the duly love. Part of that is because you're not rating others; it's not "essential" but it really helps exposure. Another is to have a webgl build where you can host directly online.
I enjoyed the game, interesting idea and I got wrapped up in the story. It would have been nice to know if I did make the right decision rather than leaving it open.
@twowolf thanks for the feedback, and about the rating, we were pretty tired, so we take one day to regain or energies, and now we are going to play a lot of games. I usually do this sooner, but i was tired hahaha
@tom-cumpsty thanks, because we didn't have a lot of time to make the story, we tried to make the player think about their choice and if they made the right choice, but maybe in the future we will make more ways so you can make the choices that matters and you will know if it was a right choice.
@weston-goggins Thanks! We planned to do more about the evidences, but the time was not our friend haha
It was a lot of reading with almost no agency on my part. The only thing i could do in the entire game was click "guilty" or "not guilty" and we dont even get to find out if i made the right decision. I would say this game is very light on gameplay.
The writing and art was good tho!
writing sound and art were amazing, though i do agree wit the previous commenter that there isnt actually that much you can do but analyse and read the evidence, perhaps you could interact with the evidence more and ask questions by clicking interesting or suspicious parts?
@blue-pin-studio @blo yes, unfortunetly we didn't have time to add more interesting aspects of gameplay, we planned other cases too, but we didn't have a lot of time left. But thanks a lot for the feedback!
The writing was good, with an emphasis on the morality of the choice at the end. The ability to look at the evidence up-close was nice, and really added some depth to the proceedings. The art and music were absolutely top-notch with a surprising attention to detail. Overall, I really enjoyed this!
Great entry, though too much words. I love to write (being a writer of a sort), but the intro is too long, and then there's more text without any specific options (choose, else), reading mostly. Anyway, it's a huge work!
Loved this game. When I heard the theme delivery one interpretation I had of it was delivering justice, but I decided to play it safe and make a package delivery game. You guys took this interpretation and did a great job turning it into a good visual novel (is that an okay way to describe it?) with a really cool feature to double-check the evidence. I actually typed down the important dates from the receipt and search history to understand things better, and having the evidence line up and make it hard to tell what happened was fun to decipher and understand. The art was really nice, I love the style and how it took itself seriously, showing the characters and the court in a kind of manga style. I especially love Karen's design, the eyes make me question if she's really so cold-blooded or if she's manipulating us. The music also set the mood very well, I was in deep thought thinking about what decision to make. I really love the story of the game, I assume Karen is the one who typed out the intro, and I really felt torn on what to decide. Her fingerprints were on the gun but the receipt and bank info suggest she was outside, those could've been leftover fingerprints...
Overall, amazing game, especially in 3 days. I can't really find much to critique other than perhaps the genre being one of those court games, but the ability to look at the evidence from all angles was a really good feature and really spices things up. Nice job :)
+ Nice art and good story. The typing sound at the beginning tho, felt weird. + I found it a bit hard to rotate the evidence back to the original nice state, maybe have a button to reset the rotation + I found the evidence pointing to one of the verdicts and wasn't sure if it was intentional. + I tried both outcomes and found it surprising the not guilty verdict still resulted in a sentence. + Also I feel like explaining the complicated word for paralysis would be good for understanding the story (earlier on, as the meaning was implied later on).
I liked the open ending, and I think it ties in well with the intro. Sometimes we're presented with a difficult choice, and we don't know what the right answer is, but we can only do the best we can.
I think the evidence presented in not conclusive either way, and following the "innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt" - I was not convinced that the defendant killed the victim.
Some say that the game is light on gameplay: my perspective is that a game is a set of interesting choices, and the choice presented here has very severe consequences. Throughout the game, I learned more information and examined the evidence to help inform that choice and develop my reasoning. So I think yes, it is a game. Unfortunately this happens every day, and it's not a game.
Some thing that could be better: it might be nice to clarify why there is no jury, since some countries do trial by jury and some don't.
Really liked the presentation, and am a big fan of the Ace Attorney games, and I think you almost scratched that itch. I don't really mind the lack of interactivity, honestly some of the logic in the AA games is pretty threadbare so a game which focuses more on big choices has appeal, but I wasn't able to find too much there which really pointed in a strong direction (though I did have questions, like why was she paying a mortgage if she already had a house in the inheritance.) Perhaps the intent was for the player to think more about the ethics of the situation, but the small details in the evidence muddled that for me.
Either way, I really liked the art/sound design, especially in the context of a game jam!
It was a great game, with an unique take on the theme. I pretty much enjoyed every moment of it and was suppried by the amount of detail with both art, being able to examine stuff, music etc., reminds me of Ace Attorney format, but more serious and making me think over ethics while I wonder which one was rifht or perhaps both in alternative universes, like an open end or Schrödinger's cat. Great game GG C:
