I struggled a bit to understand. But after that I enjoyed drawing spells. I think this game might have future. Well done!
holy crap! That was really really fun! visuals, audio, gameplay, everything was really good. I honestly don't have much to critique here, except that I didn't realize to 'charge' you have to draw it starting from the top point, I didn't think it mattered and I actually had to watch your trailer to figure that out. Other than that it was stupendous!
Excellent work, you should be proud.
This game is extremely polished and great! You guys are so talented!
Got 5/5 books. Would totally love to play this as a full release. Where take on an adventure and learn more spells as you go on... 11/10
Edit: There is a small error in your typewriter effects. Were long words start on one line, but as then as the word gets too long for the current line jumps to the next. In this case the word should start directly on the next line.
This game is awesome, the best I ever tested on LD 50, mechanics are fun and game is stressful for begin to end. Healer role is well represented, it's a 5 stars game GG

This is an incredible entry! The spell casting is a unique and fun mechanic and it felt great to begin to memorise the patterns and improve. The artwork, music and sounds are all amazing and overall I think this is a flawless package. Awesome job everyone!
Icreadibly well made! The mechanics work very well and difficulty ramps up nicely. Graphics are amazing and you hit the theme spot on. I would love play a longer game with this spellcasting mechanic. <3
I loved this game so much! It super fun, the gameplay works very well, art is incredible and the sounds go super well with everything! I'd love to get a full version of this! Amazing work ^^
The runes is a really cool mechanic. By the late game I didn't need to reference the symbols anymore as I just knew them by heart.
Love these sort of multitasking/juggling games and this one is really unique! The presentation is extremely well done and it generally plays very well(other than some minor bugs here and there). It does get somewhat repetitive after a while, I think if there were a few more active player choices(like being able to apply buffs/shields to characters), that would really take this over the top!
Great game. Graphics, sound, and gameplay are all top notch. I also like the story for what there is, it's probably the right amount for a small arcadey experience like this.
What a great game. First of all I really _löve_ to see something else than an engine being used to make the game! The pixel art is incredible and the soundtrack is very fitting. Soundeffects are also very nice. The gameplay itself is very innovative and fun. Took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to do, but once I got the hang of it, I enjoyed it a lot. Also I don't know if it was intended but the console window was still there. If it wasn't intentional then you can remove it for release build in the `conf.lua`: ```lua function love.conf(t) t.console = false end ```
I hope this game idea will be continued. I like the rune drawing to cast spells. Keep up the good work!
Graphics and audio are well polished.
Gameplay loop was unique and interesting. I could see myself playing a full game with this spell casting mechanic.
My brain had a hard time with the shape for the red spells for some reason...
Awesome entry! Saw it on the @togis stream and downloaded it to try it myself.
First of all, the graphics and audio are really well done and very polished. The UI and animations are very clean and the spells feel very good to cast. The difficulty scaled at a good rate and felt very fair.
Great work for a 72-hour jam!
Definitely a solid entry. Great presentation. I didn't find the overall gameplay to be super fun - it kind of felt like playing whack-a-mole or MS Paint eraser, but with rune drawing. You gotta do what you gotta do within the bounds of the theme, though. It'd be cool to see this system put to use in something else.
man I REALLY tried to get those 5 books, but just managed 4 I'll be coming back to it while I'm at work to give it some more tries xD
A+ on music and graphics. Fun little game! I wonder how it can be expanded on...
Really clever and funny take on the theme. Done beautifully too! The visuals, the music and sfx, the little funny backstory all sit together so well! It's pretty difficult but after a few tries I managed to get to the 5th book, so I'd say the difficulty is done pretty good. The first time I felt like the game was increasing it's difficulty as I increased my skill, which is very impressive. Especially for a jam game. And the tutorial is a nice touch!
Loved it
Thanks for bringing it to my stream! Here's a recording in case you'd like to refer to it https://youtu.be/hPPKMGZGGDs
Wow. I was *not* expecting such an intense experience from that-that was great! The pixelart style is very well done, and the music does a great job of setting up a tense mood. The gameplay itself is also an interesting concept generally well-executed. When I was on a roll, etching out all the different combinations for healing spells at fast speed was very satisfying. Of course, that was always until I ended up in a panic and inevitably ruined a spell or forgot to watch my mana. There were a few times where it felt like my mouse should've registered dragging over one and didn't, though that might've just been me going fast.
Overall, very nice work! I managed to get 4 out of 5 books. Capture.PNG
thanks for sharing your game on stream!
fun complete game right here~! A lot of polish and a complete experience for sure ~ one thing that I found hard at fisrt was to know which one was 1,2 or 3 when trying to heal a certain person~ usually the damage symbols were up or down so I got confused by that~
I thought the game wuold be hard to comprehend at first but I was wrong, it is quite simple to understand but hard to surpass, thas awesome!
Once again, thanks for sharing, great game you have in here~!
i love this game. truly amazing mechanics i am dying to see it become a pvp on tablets! and if you were the extend the spell casting and gave it a few decks and maybe skill trees. what a pvp game that would be!
Hello Chris and team,
Really cool original idea and the sound effects were really nice to listen to on top of the gameplay. I also loved the concept of healer healing those who will inevitably die. Really clever game. The critique I have is The UI black box seems a bit close/ crowded next to the spell book and doesn't relly stick out as UI/ seems a but bit blended with the game.
Lastly, the 3rd option where you choose the "strength" it was not super clear on what it was. It might have been in the tutorial and I may have missed it.
Cool game over all, really enjoyed my play through :D
Really nice game! Felt really polished and the gameplay, graphics and audio were all great. It was a bit difficult at first but after a while I knew most of the patterns and got 4/5 books on the second playthrough. At first I didn't really know how the mana and strength stuff worked but I figured it out pretty quickly. Really good entry, good job c:
I like the mix of skill added with the sense of urgency to get your spells done as soon as possible before more afflictions happen.
Very tough and challenging game and I like this game a lot. It took me a bit to understand which order I needed to do the symbols in but I was able to keep my people alive a little longer atleast once I figured it out.
Great job on this one!

This is probably my favorite of the games I've played so far. The art and visuals are so clean, the mechanics are unique and fun to master, and the game itself feels very well balanced! Very very excellent job here, all!
Amazing entry! The mechanics all worked great, the tutorial was nicely implemented and the audio was really good! The graphics were also incredible and the entire thing felt very polished!
It's really hard to think of some constructive feedback for such a complete game... I would have liked to have seen some more dialogue during the gameplay, but that's a personal opinion!
Overall I really enjoyed playing and this is an amazing entry!
That is such a sweet mechanic, and one of the best theme-fitting games I've seen. Reminds me of the Google Magic Cat Academy game, which was a ton of fun.
Great job on this one!
This quality is way beyond what I would expect from Ludum dare game! Everything is amazingly well polished. Not only that, this can be expanded so much. Enemies with different damage types and different patterns, heroes with special abilities with complicated patterns to trigger them, items player need to buy and used by using special patterns, different types of spell casters (different number and position of nodes)... The game is simply amazing! I got 4 books at my best attempt.
Honestly so impressed with how this all came together. Considering the amount of assets and polish needed to get this sort of game done without making it frustrating with something like sloppy controls (which would've been so easy to get wrong here, but you got it so snappy and correct,) you've got me really impressed!
EXTREMELY fun game, feels amazingly polished! Got 4/5 on my first try and 5/5 on my second. Would love to see the core spell casting mechanic in a game with combat! Very hectic and feels great once you start to learn the spells
Very fun and quite well polished! Easy to get into the game but the difficulty sure ramps up near the end. I did manage to get 5 books but I wasn't exactly clear on when I was getting them and what they meant? perhaps there was a win condition after that I never got to? Anyway, fantastic entry.
@rhoka Thanks so much for playing. Unfortunately there is no win condition. Your loss was inevitable. The books are somewhat discrete, but they do show up on the far right side of the screen as you're playing. Good job getting to 5!
An incredibly well made entry! Wasn't sure what to expect going into it, but I was blown away by the level of polish on the visuals, music & sounds, and gameplay. It's a very simple concept in premise, but I think your team really made something special. Seriously impressed!
Very fun game! I really liked the music and the graphics, you should make a sequel as well! 10/10
Here's my score:

Felt like I was playing The Witness on steroids lol.
A seriously excellent game with a unique presentation. Basically every aspect of this game oozed originality and intentional design. I liked how progression was fast and apparent. That is, the player itself gains skill very quickly because the symbols are fairly easy to memorize over time, and your mouse speed starts increasing as well as you get used to the movement patterns more and more.
I like how there was some mild decisionmaking to be had, usually juggling between choosing your most dire squadmate vs choosing someone with multiple of a debuff, thus making them an optimal choose. It does get easy once you figure out all of the above, but I have no issue with that since that's the reward for mastery of the game's skillsets.
Music and gfx all solid. The UI, although VERY daunting in screenshot form, ended up being a breeze to learn. This is one of the coolest games this jam for sure.
Awesome mechanics! Music and graphics are great too. I really enjoyed playing this one, though it did start to get a little redundant towards the end. Still fantastic game for a jam!
Congratulations on 2nd place!
Congrats on the well-deserved final rankings!
