I love this game! Such a cool idea
Love the deck selection, but sometimes my allies gets blocked behind the box
I played your game! It was a lot of fun, I ended up spamming pipsqueeks and the rush rams to win, the rush rams were seriously OP! I like the take on a deckbuilder auto-battler, our game is also a deckbuilder, you should check it out ;)
Was this game a solo job or team?
Congrats on the submission!
This is awesome! Very impressive for a solo project!
I like the core gameplay.
Some thoughts on how the design could be evolved: it would be nice to have higher difficulty levels. The deckbuilding angle feels only partially incorporated, since you can always choose to spawn any of the creatures at any time. It might feel more card-like if you had to play a card from hand to summon it, and if you draw a new card afterwards. That would force the deck composition to matter more.
If you were to evolve this concept, you could also add some creature synergies, or deckbuilding restrictions...
@osh-studio Thank you ! Pipsqueaks are my go to as well! This is a completely solo project!
@silas-reinagel Thanks a lot for the feedback! And I agree! I'd like to improve the game by making things more random, with more variety in what the player can do, like spells, obstacles, debuffs.. I hope i can manage to upgrade it well! Thanks again for the ideas!
Such a cool game! It reminded me a lot of a small game I made a few years ago in college haha. I love the variety of monsters you get to choose from and the deck building. Theres definitely a lot of potential there. Some ideas that come to mind: - manual deployment of the monsters (e.g. drag & drop) - adding new levels with obstacles / different paths - some sort of tooltip when hovering over the cards (mid round), so you can look their stats up whilst playing - adding music in general - generally what @silas-reinagel said. I think synergies could be really cool here, or maybe some sort of merge-mechanic where when you play 3x the same creature, it combines to a unique & way stronger version, etc.
Sound effects and visuals are also super fitting, love the small particle effects on the attacks.
Good job, really impressive, especially as a solo dev!
@mullenratte Thanks for all the ideas! Definitely writing those down in the list of things to add! Thanks for playing!
This reminded me a lot of Clash of Clans in a way, or the other clash game where its 1v1. I like the sprites. Really cool concept.
Very cool concept!
This is awesome, it's actually quite fun  My favorite was the mortar and knight combo. Really impressive work for a solo jammer! Keep on making games
Hahaha seems like we had a very similar idea in building our games out!
The concept of a deckbuilder auto-battler is really interesting, and I can see the potential here, but there are a few areas that could use improvement. First, while the variety of creatures is fun, it felt like spamming certain units (like the Rush Rams) made it too easy to win, and some units ended up feeling overpowered. I also noticed that some of my units got stuck behind obstacles, which disrupted the flow of gameplay. Adding clearer synergies between creatures or more deck-building restrictions could add a lot more strategy and depth. The idea of manual deployment or adding obstacles sounds great too and would really elevate the challenge. Overall, a solid foundation, but I’d love to see it pushed further with more balance and strategy options in future updates.
Wow this game is really fun! (except when all my units get obliterated by bombermans XD). It was cool to try out different strategies and see which units were best to spam. I like the addition of splash damage and units that can rush through frontline melee units and penetrate the back lines to prevent overwhelming hordes, which is a problem in some other games I've played. I ended up with spamming knights instead of pipsqueaks cuz they and can do a lot of damage to the enemy base quickly and can tank more mortar splash shots.
This was actually really fun! Enjoyed the gameplay and funny build I made. Gave me some nostalgic age of war vibes with interesting characters (i can still hear that song in the back of my head)
@rambobeans It was definitely an inspiration ! I can neither deny nor confirm that I had that very music playing on repeat while doing the final tests before submitting
Was pretty fun, I annihilated the enemy by spamming bombermen and a couple of mortars.
Great game, the bomberman was relentless, always killed like half of my army
Mass knight rush!! GG! Fun game haha good job!
Really fun! I eventually realized toothpick OP but before that trying to balance mortars and other units was a real challenge! The game was fun enough for me to want to find the OP comp so that means you did something right for sure!
Cute simple and fun game! (Mortars and Bombermen are too strong T.T)
Really fun little game, definitely enjoyed replaying it multiple times to try different builds. Would love to see some sort of meta game incorporated into it. Great work.
I had a lot of fun! My biggest criticism is there is a lot of reading and comprehension required right at the beginning of the game, I had to force myself through that. Afterwards through experimentation it was really interesting making builds and seeing what worked.
It might have been random, but it seemed like the AI was adjusting what they were making in order to counter my army. In my first play I was trying to Zerg and the computer heavily invested in mortars which hard countered me. I want to play this PvP!
Cool game ! Bomberman for the win :)
@loveschach I had planned for a more enjoyable tutorial a bit less text heavy but... yeah ran out of time quickly. And for the AI for now it's pretty much random, but maybe it suddenly became sentient, who knows!! I'd love to upgrade this to PvP at some point, it would be much more interesting!
Very cool and fun game , but short :( hope to see a post jam update!
Cool little game :)
Good job, I like it, hope to see it in the steam
For me this game is so cute atmospheric and interesting so keep going!
Cool game! Tiny but complete. I love the bomberman :)
Good Job!!! it was fun to fight against the PC. I would be happy to have more maps/levels :)
I loved everything about it except that on my platform (playing in Safari on an M1 Mac), the audio for the devil sounded like it was popping my speakers when it died. I don't know if it's like that on any other platform but for me, it was like nails on a chalkboard and I had to turn off the sound.
But the rest of the game was great! It wasn't clear what a good counter was for bombers or rams, but I just kept spamming archers and bombers and eventually won. Lots of fun and it's incredible that you put this all together in a weekend!
It's a very pleasant and simple game, I like it
@machwerx Thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to look into that sound then, the sounds were made using the sfxr tool so there's a chance it has some parameter that gets distorted, I'm sorry it sounded that bad! Thanks for still playing!
Need to work with balance. Now it's to hard for me. And i think some monsters in my deck replaced. But concept is nice, so if you will continue to work it would be nice game!
Nice concept!
Loved the game and enjoyed playing it.It brought back fond memories of 'Age of War'. And plus Point for having the tutorial.
This game is surprisingly addictive and I loved the art. I really like the take on little creatures and trying to make a winning deck. Small nit pick but I would have liked a confirm button after building my deck instead of just closing the menu. Thank you for making this!
@barryrichter I hadn't thought of adding a confirm button, but it makes sense I'll make sure to add that after the jam so that people can cancel and return to their previous deck if they want! Thank you for your feedback, and for playing!
Wow! The game is so wonderful! I can play this 10 hours straihgt! Keep making games!
I'm worried this'll sound like an insult but this really feels like more than the sum of its parts. Everything looks and plays great but the actual gameplay really feels complex and interesting despite the simple game pieces and systems. I'm super impressed, I'm tempted to put more time into this later!
@anson-rutherford thank you very much! not to worry, I am very flattered that you saw this in my game, thank you so much for playing!
