LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Falling apart by yetanother 2021-04-30T04:06:05Z

Ow, my brain hurts! But that's good cuz that means the game is interesting. Great storywriting and art. All it needs is some relaxing piano music to accompany the drops as they fall. It would be cool if pressing a/d and j/l could play piano notes. Overall, nice job! Keep up the good work!

LD49 — Unstable

Beat Server by pickens-inc 2021-10-16T20:12:09Z

This game is so funny, especially the narration and the coder guy. Only thing is what nardandas said above that the notes were sometimes hard to see because the computer screens were short. Maybe if there was a screen behind each computer that had the bar instead of just the compiuter screen. But anyways, really fun and awesome game!

Wizard of Unstablely Place by terryg 2021-10-16T19:53:54Z

Nice game! The music and art were very calming, and the game fit the Unstable theme very well. One suggestion is to allow the current platform that the wizard is on to freeze when clicking in a wider hitbox because they were sometimes hard to click, especially when falling.

LD55 — Summoning

Snack Summoner by Air Dinghy 2024-04-27T07:02:49Z

A really interesting take on the summoning theme! I liked the funny sound effects. Gotta say though that those perfects are tough to get! In terms of what you can add in any future updates, maybe a progress bar to show how many notes are left. And if you really want to go crazy, sliding from one note to another along the star (press down on one note and lift up at another) Anyways, nice job on your first jam!

Summons of the Sovereign by Hare Software 2024-04-25T23:01:56Z

Nice Game! I loved the voice acting and mood. The AI was also really good at the game (or maybe I am just quite bad at board games), so it was a nice challenge. I couldn't beat it in the end but it was still pretty fun.

Arcane Dungeon by Astoeth 2024-04-27T02:51:30Z

First, I thought the sound effects were funny and the mood was pretty good. As others have stated, there were a few confusing things (which you probably would have put in the tutorial if you had more time). I was able to figure out most parts as I played, like how I didn't have to move completely, or that I had to place the objects into the cup and not the fire (I had thought it was cuz there was a mana cost). I also couldn't figure out what the summon symbols really did though. I think the summoning map was really creative. It makes the player actually do some work to choose what to summon instead of simply pressing a number key so nice job implementing that! It kinda feels like how changing a summoning circle can totally change what is summoned. Post-LD, other than the tutorial, I think it would be cool to also have different types of summons with special attributes. This might also clear away some confusion with each of the icons, like maybe the bow icon summons a ranged summon that does pierce damage to armor?

Necroshamancer by Nyla J 2024-04-27T06:19:30Z

Thanks for all of the comments! Hope you all enjoyed playing!

@kevin-ray Glad you liked the game :) The music was actually sampled from online (should have included in credits :/), but nyla did try to find and pick songs that fit the overall mood. We didn't want it to be completely silent

@kilthorne Yeah we had a lot more planned (we were planning on making it so you can channel the summons as abilities like a shaman instead of pure necromancer) but as all jams, we kinda ran out of time. Glad you liked playing what we made though.

@marrs Unfortunately, there's a bug where the game crashes if one of your summons kills a spider, so you gotta kill it yourself (which might be a bit annoying with the webs).

@fataljg Hehe I see you understood the hint. It's a bit broken though cuz we didn't finish balancing the mana system.

@tomisgreen Thanks! The music was actually sampled from online, but Nyla did try to find and pick songs to make that mood and make the game more engaging.

@arka Is it that ledge that turns silver at the beginning? I actually don't know why it's doing that but hope you enjoyed playing the game

@kirass Thanks! We did spend quite a lot of time deciding on how to make the game more unique and fun. In the end, we didn't finish all of our plans (implementing the "shaman" aspect by allowing the player to channel the abilities of the summon) but I also like how it turned out.

@two1san Thank you for the advice! I was stuck on this problem for a while and eventually just gave up after trying to do stuff with raycasting (enemies also get stuck on walls). For now, we kinda made it into a mechanic cuz it allows you to climb up walls with the help of bats. I'll definitely look more into the frictionless physics material 2d for future jams though.

@kseniya Haha thanks for the praise! We spent quite a bit of time deciding on how to make the game more unique and fun. In the end, we didn't finish all of our plans (implementing the "shaman" aspect by allowing the player to channel the abilities of the summon instead of only summoning them) but I like how it turned out. It was a nice learning experience for all of us, so maybe next time we'll be more efficient and take that top place ;)

@corruptor2037 Sorry to hear about that :( Unfortunately, the player grounded mechanics bug out a lot on sloped lands. Hopefully you were able to fly with the bats? ;) ^.^

@thekatmol Glad to hear you liked it! We spent a lot of time planning cuz we wanted to make the game unique and interesting.

@nycoisdreaming Sorry to hear about that. There is a bug where the game crashes if you kill a spider with your summon, so the only way around that is to kill the spider manually with your sword and experience its annoying webs.

@iwant-pizza Glad you liked it :)

@igorekkedziorek Sorry to hear about that. There is a bug where the game crashes if you kill a spider with your summon, so the only way around that is to kill the spider manually with your sword and experience its annoying webs.

@hare-software Thanks! We spent a bunch of time planning to make the game unique and interesting! All of us are interested in finishing the game, but school... But if we do manage to finish, I'll definitely update this page.

The Scared Summoner by Dymino 2024-04-25T23:35:34Z

The beginning is a bit tough with the 1hp life, but after that it's pretty fun to spam the fairies. At the max, it becomes impossible to die if you stand still XD. As a ludam dare entry, this was pretty solid. In terms of future improvements, would be cool with different enemies and summons and difficulty progression so the end-game is harder to achieve after the halfway point

Ice Wiz by Monkeyasaurus 2024-04-26T05:00:55Z

This is a nice platformer game! It was frustrating at times trying to jump and summon ice at the same time and then land on the ice, but that is what the challenge of a platformer game is. I liked all the different traps/obstacles you made, and the level design was really smart. Especially when you get through half the level and then realize you were supposed to summon ice at the beginning :3

Coming soon! by Josiah1189 2024-04-27T07:06:29Z

Wow the classic balance on this is no joke...

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Goober Goblins: A Nose Picking Simulator by Cam Moore 2024-10-10T00:41:47Z

Hahaha! How did you ever come up with this idea. The game is simple yet fun, especially cuz the humor! There's even strategy with the finger wiping and waiting for the sneeze. Music and art really worked together with the game's main idea and mood. Overall, excellent job!

MiniMayhem by Phyrocast 2024-10-10T00:24:23Z

Wow this game is really fun! (except when all my units get obliterated by bombermans XD). It was cool to try out different strategies and see which units were best to spam. I like the addition of splash damage and units that can rush through frontline melee units and penetrate the back lines to prevent overwhelming hordes, which is a problem in some other games I've played. I ended up with spamming knights instead of pipsqueaks cuz they and can do a lot of damage to the enemy base quickly and can tank more mortar splash shots.

Tiny Colony by DavidCode 2024-10-10T00:34:40Z

Nice shooting game. Took a bit to figure out why I kept losing after a minute into the game but then found that I had to defend the beacon in the sky instead of where I spawned. It would have been great if the enemies retargeted the player when attacked, but it was still fun to snipe them from far away.

Critter Gang by lastsecondgames 2024-10-10T01:06:44Z

As everyone else has said, this game is well-balanced, especially after you know the boss patterns. The art and music played very well into the mafia theme. Unfortunately, I was playing with touchpad because I didn't have a mouse x_X, so it was tough to beat the bird phase 1. Evidently, I died in phase 2, but it was really cool to see what attacks it had. Overall, a really well-made game for LD.

Not sure if it was a bug or intended, but I kept pressing W to jump but only space worked. Also wish there was a key i could press to fire... or I could just get a mouse

99 Shotguns by AlexClay 2025-10-08T01:03:46Z

LOL I totally vibe with this game -- also reminded me of Brotato but on steroids. Was wondering what the game was when I saw the name, but it fits perfectly. PS. The music is a banger. The 99 bottles of beer parody was a nice addition

John Highland and a Special Golden Crown by VladImperator 2025-10-08T00:31:51Z

This is a really neat game. The physics are fun to play with, and the rock placement makes the entire track a cool puzzle where you have to learn where to place your hands and feet to get reach and when to use only 3 anchors. Thanks for not making me restart from the bottom whenever I fell. The music is so relaxing, especially with the clouds -- reminds me of an open world exploration vibes. Are there any other secret treasures along the way to the top? I was trying go to the right at the bottom crevice but gave up. Also, John is probably one of the world's best contortionists

Afterlyft: One Helluva Ride by Nyla J 2025-10-08T02:38:26Z

@jamesxm Thanks for playing! Sorry the game bugged out on you. We'll see what we can do to fix that for the post-jam version. For the brakes and reverse, you have to buy them in the shop (because h3ll doesn't have brakes by default). The car does slow down over time though, and you can buy the speedometer to see your speed.

Afterlyft: One Helluva Ride by Nyla J 2025-10-08T02:40:09Z

@jomnaq @gamesplusjames @lemonink Hehe glad you enjoyed the story and effects!

Crystal Tower Luxogenics by orangeoceans 2025-10-08T01:59:25Z

Pretty innovative concept for a solid tower defense game. If you do develop further, would love a larger rotation scroll so I can fine tune the towers easier.

Arpeggio by Emilija Marija 2025-10-08T01:24:47Z

I saw in your previous comment that the music adds more notes when you gain them, and I think this is such a cool addition! Also the little things like movements making their note sounds. I also got stuck after talking to the person -- is this the end? One bug I found that wasn't already mentioned is that if you dash into the ground after the double high jump, it doesn't register that you are grounded so you cannot jump. Anyways, lovely game.
