Really cool concept! The visuals kind of remind me of Reigns, it's nice :) You should add a description to the game page, it's too bad people are missing such a nice game

Well I am a huge board game fan and I loved your previous board games-esque entry "Reap What You Sow". So far I have only played it against the AI, but during the weekend I intend to play it in the PVP mode. Kudos for including both, that's quite a feat in a game jam.
One of the things that I find the most impressive is how you managed to make the AI opponent feel like a "real" person.
As usual with your entries the sound, music and voice acting are on another level. I also really appricate the Hare-software art style!
I think you are going to "Reap What You Sow", or in other words; great entry, deserves a great placement!
Cool bioard game, enjoyed it a lot! Great submission.
Really cool turn based tactics game! Awesome visuals and sounds. While the mechanics looked a little too random at first after a couple of games they started to make sense. I think it will really have help if all the player to have same background. At first I though the summon monster actions, which looked like a fliped card, where unavailable actions ;-). Great job!
Really neat, the difficulty is a little hard and I ended up playing one game until the game crashed. It was really fun though.
Loved it, I'm a sucker for isometric games. It wasn't hard to understand what I had to do without reading the tutorial. The only thing that took me a bit to get was that all units are neutral. (I checked after I realized and found it written in the tutorial.) Simple and polished. I love the fact that you added a computer as well as the option to battle another player.
Nice Game! I loved the voice acting and mood. The AI was also really good at the game (or maybe I am just quite bad at board games), so it was a nice challenge. I couldn't beat it in the end but it was still pretty fun.
I love turn-based strategy games, and this one really fits the theme well! I lost my first match against the computer. Initially, it was a bit challenging to understand the behavior of my summonings. Although I knew exactly what each unit did thanks to your tutorial, grasping their movement took a bit of time. However, after a short while, I got the hang of it and played again, this time defeating the computer! The addition of player-versus-player mode makes the game even more complete and polished. I absolutely loved it, great game!
Damn, this is hard! It's like a new version of chess. And I'm all in for it. The isometic graphics are really charming to the overall experience. The music really fits the whole royalty theme as well. It would be fun if it had a online versus mode, but I think that's asking too much for a 72 hour game. How does this game still in the danger of not receiving a rating. This deserves to be seen by more people. Great job buddy!
It's a quite polished hidden gem that I'm delighted to play. Availability of a player vs computer mode is admirable. Tutorial level is also a huge plus for a game with its own rules. Isometric pixel art and the music fits the mood well. Last but not least, voice acting also adds a lot to the overall experience. I wish I was good at such games. Excellent Job!
This was surprisely good. despite not being the biggest fan of board games. it looked and sounded nice. and was kinda fun thinking of a plan. So far trying to move a opponent to a corner with less room to move is a good strategy
Well thought out, fun to play and polished, quite a rarity among the entries. Great job!
Oh wow! So polished and smart game design. I ABSOLUTELY love the audio design in this game. The music and the voices are so amazing, it creates an excellent mood.
This was the game I liked the most in this LD up until now, very fun and satisfying to play.
Would love to see a future version with more unit types and different maps (maybe obstacles or types of terrains that affect units?)
Got hooked after a few minutes. Incredible game, just wow, I am speechless.
By far the best game I've played so far. AAA sound design, cool art, unique concept, great balancing and polish. Truly incredible work, not just for a jam game but in general. It worked so well and the opponent with their comments was just great to play against. Challenging but not too hard. Sometimes it was difficult to tell what was going on or what the next move would bring but it wasnt really any issue. Usually I dont like board games but I had a great time with this one. It's like chess but better.
Did you use AI for the voice acting? And libraries for the sounds? Or was everything done from scratch with actual voice acting?
@retrific Hey! I am glad you liked the game!
The voice acting, all sounds and music was done by people from scratch. You can check the credits in the game to see who did what. We always put a huge amount of focus on audio because when done right, it can make or break a game experience. Thanks for the wonderful feedback!
Well done! massive props
Wow, this is awesome. Took a bit of trial and error to understand the mechanics, but they work really well, and the AI is clever, and the voice acting is brilliant! Loved the "Point and click is my favourite genre" remark lol. I also found it very interesting that units were faction neutral.
This could definitely become a full release. No, not could, should -- please make a full game out of this. It's amazing this was created in 3 days tbh.
I am absolutely blown away by this game, great audio design, stunning graphics and fun gameplay. Just amazing !
Very unique! going forward I see more troops and maybe tile hazards and BOOM! your ready for steam!
This was a very good game. It took a bit to understand what was happening, but then it was easy to understand what was going on. The game had the right amount of challenge; not too easy to be boring, but not too difficult to be frustrating. The graphics were good and the voiceovers were a nice touch to the game. Also, I'm impressed that you implemented playing against the computer, since I'm not sure how to get the computer to make good decisions.
Finally, what fonts did you use in game and on the itch.io page? I have been using pixel fonts for my games, and they don't look as good.
good game
Gorgeous art and the game is quite fun. The AI opponent was tough to beat on the smaller maps but on the larger one, the difficulty felt right. (This might be unintuitive for new players - I know I kind of assumed smaller maps would be easy, and the ordering on the menu didn't help.) I also couldn't see which direction I was placing things if they were behind other things unless I pulled them out to rotate and then put them back, which wasn't too bad but a mild annoyance worth fixing if you polish this up more, I think. The fun voice acting was the icing on the cake. Love it.
It's a cool concept, but summoned units not belonging to either player makes the game kind of chaotic on first playthrough. The voicelines were great, but sometimes overlapped each other. Music was really enjoyable and shaped the tone/mood while matching the graphical style. Very well done. :)
I tried it with a friend, it's a really nice multiplayer game (i won, that's maybe a part of why i liked it that much) The idea is really nice and really could be an entire game with more characters, a campaign, rankeds and an economic model based on skins for the characters and ... ok I calm down. All of this to say that your game is really cool, I want more :D
Such an awesome submission! Very good graphics, sound design was nice and especially the voicelines, great job!
The fact that you made this in a weekend is super impressive! I really like the chess feel, but without needing to think 10 turns ahead due to the randomness. Every turn is like a little optmizing puzzle, where you have to decided what piece should go where. Maybe the randomness was a little too much sometimes, because it was (for me at least) very hard to get a 'checkmate' situtation. Very often the opposing queen managed to get out of a tough spot because she happened to draw a move or a musketeer. Of course, I myself also profited of that same randomness quite a few times ^^
The fact that you had voice acting was really cool! The art was also super nice and really gave each of the different pieces its own feeling. Really well done! I really enjoyed this entry :D
Insane submission! I used to be a huge Eye of Judgement nerd and this really scratched that itch. The VA is up to par and the sprite art is right on point with its pixel art simplicy and great conveyance. The ammount of units you can summon are diverse enough for the possibilities to feel endless although most of the time, my wins/loses were solely determined by monster card "spamming". So far one of my favourite games of LD50 and Im betting on seeing You guys at the top rankings!
No issues I have with this game are in its design, and could all be rectified easily in an update. The clarity of some action types could be clearer, but given the time we had to make these this is an amazing entry with some hilarious, genre-correct voicelines and wonderful art. In future, I would love to see an online multiplayer later on too!
I really love this game. It's very polished, the graphics and the audio are beautiful, and the gameplay mechanics work really well. Maybe at the beginning, it's a bit difficult to understand the order of actions. However, I really enjoyed understanding the mechanics and playing a few games, and I'm very happy that you took the time to add a mode against the computer. Plus, the voices add a huge charm to the game. Bravo!
I loved graphics and audio of this game. It's kinda hard to understand at first, but after a few tries game seems really cool! Good job!
Thank you again for bringing me this. You must bring me more~✨
