What's here works well, the animations are neat - did you make them yourself? I've been picking up unity a bit and 3d stuff is so much more tricky than people initially think.
Even though it's not done, there were no bugs and it had gameplay so all in all that's a victory. Are you going to continue developing it at all?

Gives me Runescape vibes, not sure if that's what you were going for. You hit the theme on the head though.
@Burgee Thank you! We actually are going to continue developing it, after a small break that is. We still have several assets and an area that went unused because we didn't have time to implement it all. All the animations and assets (besides the rat which we found online to save time) were made by Coven370.

Great use of 3D, and probably had an ambitious goal from the start, but needed to have a stronger hook and overall structure. Keep at it!

Hey! Great game :) As you said it isn't finished yet but it has potential! i would suggest two minor fixes (but you probably wanted to implement them): -loop your walking animation, -stop the player's movement when attacking. I hope you will continue to develop it! PS: i tested it on web

@Japes610 thanks for that, By day two we started to realize that we had bitten a little more than we can chew. Seeing how this was our first jam and really big project period, it was a great learning experience for all of us.

Hey, finishing is probably the hardest part of a game jam. Our game has got some bugs we weren't able to fix in time, too. If you want to try it out anyways, here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/secrets-of-the-forest
Great sword animation! Can't wait to check the finished game ;)

Just keep going. Game jams are the best place to learn how to scope your project.

Hey there. So, while there isn't a lot of gameplay going on here, I still like the direction the game was going. The visuals are really nice and fun to look at, so really god job on those. For a first game jam it's easy to overscope, especially when it's also your first time working on a team. So I'd say you still did a great job in just getting as far as you could and then posting what you managed to do! I'm sure you'll just improve from hereon out. :) Best of luck!

I would first like to thank you all, for 1 playing our knowingly gameplay lacking game and 2 for giving such nice and constructive comments. We will continue development, but it may be more of a back-burner project at the time being as we go and learn some more, but if you want to keep an eye out for it, it almost definately wont be under any of the names we have used, since they were for this rushed final submission.
@G4MR I don't think we had any "vibe" in mind we were basically trying to sway the dialogue, (that all got trashed last second) to make it seem like a single player mmo.
@juju Yes they are, with so little time you really need to figure how to put a lot in without putting a lot in.
@Apace Thanks, @Procrastinaaaa wasn't sure on if we should publish it how it is now, but I was able to convince him it would be for our own good if we did.
@Vrarr Yes we are aware of them, our animation guy doesn't use unity all that much so he just kind of threw them in to polish it up a bit, but those are some things that will will definitely get fixed, once myself and @Procrastinaaaa figure out how to work with said animations
@Burgee Just wanted to mention you in this post, since we already replied to you directly.
@DevEmil Basically the same with what I said to juju, I would have liked to play your game, as it seemed like an interesting concept, but I don't really want to download anything, if you were to post a html file I would love to play it
@Japes610 Same as burgee above, just wanted to mention you so you can see this post
@tokkiseul Thanks for that!
Once again we thank you for your time and your kind words.
I actually like playing 'sp mmo' type stuff. Sometimes I just like grinding for the sake of it, without the hassle of online, especially if there are solid upgrades. What kind of skills/classes do you intend to have in a more fleshed out version?
What is here is off to a good start, I love the idea of a single player experience in an MMO world.
