Nice, relaxing game, the gravity ball is actually quite interesting. It would be nice if you could aim your pickaxe with your mouse though :)

Geez, not lying about it being blurry. Fourth game in a row that is literally unplayable.

The game didn't even finish loading for me. Opened the embedded page in a new tab and then it managed to load. But alas, a bit too blurry to play.
Cant load game on page but I played it on desktop. Good game with interesting gameplay
Nice submit! I like the gravity ball idea (although it's a bit buggy :D). The graphics are alsy very nice and it's quite a unique perspective being zoomed in that much. UI could've used more polish, the standard Unity font always hurts my eyes a bit haha Also, the cooldown on the gravity lamps is a bit too punishing, since you are forced to wait 10 s if you've placed it wrong
Overall a solid game, enjoyed playing it!
A quick tip for controls; it's difficult to have the player use both hands on the keyboard whilst also needing to use the mouse. Maybe you could've put the pickaxe aiming onto the mouse aswell.
Edit: I played to the end apparently, and didn't really have to use the pickaxe. Was that a planned mechanic that didn't make it into the game? Also I liked the idea of voicing the characters :D
I won yay! I like the concept a lot. With more time it would be cool to make the controls a little more visual like someone said with aiming with the mouse. But over all nice work.
Cool but I got stuck some time in air for no resson
By aiming the pickaxe downwards the characters starts flying around, just like Gordon Freeman with gravity gun XD I think the best part about this game was voice acting! I wish more games would go through the effort of voice acting, it makes the game so much more enjoyable.
When using the web version (I am on Mac so I could not download the game), I could not see how the gravity thing should have been used.
I absolutely love the concept of the gravity ball! 😍 However, I feel that the 10-second cooldown is a bit excessive, as I often find myself misplacing it. 🕒 Perhaps a shorter cooldown might enhance the gameplay experience? Keep up the great work! 👏
(Response to @janinna21) I actually tried to fix that problem, but as I mostly drew the art for the game, I wasn't able to understand my friends code 😉. But I totally get your point.
Agree with the other comments here. A lot of cool concepts, audio was great, but controls and some design decisions were a bit rough around the edges. Either way, enjoyed what you had and the mechanics enough that I finished the game, so good work!
(Response to @t-c) You're totally right. In the end, we ran out of time for polishing, so some stuff is a bit buggy. Thanks for playing!
was a good entry liked the music and the game little hard with the lantern thing but was really fun
Enjoyed the experience, looking forward to more!
Fun idea to have audio for voices :D I used the pickaxe as an elevator which made everything a bit too easy, but fun game and nice story, well done!
@floata3 @kutase @wouterk12 Thanks for playing our game 🙏! We'll try to save us time for polishing in the next Ludum Dare. It's our very first one, so we didn't even expect so much response to our game. So it's cool you found some time for trying it out 👍
This game is really beautiful! The atmosphere and audio work together perfectly to create a lovely experience. The visuals are charming, and while some of the controls were a bit tricky, it didn’t take away from the fun. Overall, a great entry with a lot of heart. Keep up the amazing work! :))
Game looks great! Felt like the pickaxe was a bit underused, the gravity ball felt really satisfying though. Controls were a bit awkward, because you need to use the arrow keys and the mouse.
Nice pixel art. The gravity ball was an interesting mechanic. The controls were a bit all over the place, wasd and arrows _and_ mouse buttons? Having to keep swapping between the mouse and keyboard was not great. Turns out the pickaxe wasn't really needed (unless using it to fly).
I wish the gravity thingy didn't have such a long cooldown, as it was fun to use. I also managed to fly by standing next to something and pushing it with the pickaxe, that sent the thing flying in the air with me on it. Good speed run strat but I think I ended up out of bounds :D. I had fun, well done!
@ethernal-tech @someone @slay-a-stone Thanks for your feedback. You're totally right about the controls, after the game was released, we sometimes literally bit on our tongues because of that (what was even the control for doing this 😂?). I hope you had some fun though.
@p0l4r Thanks for playing. The aspects of your feedback could all be found in the other comments, which shows us how important they are: - Pickaxe makes you fly - Too long cooldown of the gravity ball - Pickaxe is useless most of the time - Hard controls (although this wasn't mentioned by you)
The frequence of the feedback is helping us a lot, so we are happy about any we get. Keep up your good feedback!
Good effort. Visual are lovely, nice pixel art. Sound also pretty good. Love seeing voice acting in LD games!
I actually didn't mind the controls at all - they remind me of DOS-era platformers back before every game controlled exactly the same. Perfectly easy to control within the bounds of what the game asks of you!
I thought the gravity ball was a neat mechanic, but as other commenters have said it could feel a little tighter. I can think of lots of ways that mechanic could be extended as well (chaining them, using them as velocity multiplers to break through obstacles, using them as a weapon against enemies etc) so there is definitely scope to flesh out the idea if you want to keep adding to it.
I think this game would work well on a gamepad, you should have a look at that before the next LD as it's actually quite easy to get up and running!
Nice work for a first submission, hope to see more!
Visual part of the game is insane, as i can see you guys give more effort to the visual, same as our team, well done, keep going!
@teddyreid @pimping Thanks for your comments. Happy you appreciate the artwork.
@teddyreid All your ideas are great, and I like the gamepad idea very much. I actually saw a gamepad tutorial for unity recently, and I think it would be a really fun idea to set up. So yeah, we'll think of it the next Ludum Dare!
Interesting game, had a hard time with the controls. Most specifically the movement in the air - I would stop falling when moving left right to the point where I could stall almost indefinitely (perhaps gravity not added or overridden when there is input). The gravity ball is interesting in concept but kept pushing me in different directions than I expected, maybe custom formula being used instead of simple vector reflection? IDK. The cooldown for both abilities was so long that it made it a bit difficult to traverse past the first area.
