Nice job! This is an ambitious genre for a game jam The concept is strong and has a lot of potential. The gameplay loop is fun but could use a bit more tuning to keep the player consistently engaged. I wish the placement of a hex had more impact, because I would just place the tiles randomly. Once I understood the UI I had a lot of fun!
@Tommeh thanks for the kind words! More complicated tile placement was indeed one of the original ideas (like the park), but unfortunatly time was running out :(

The core economic system here seems pretty solid. The game might be more exciting if there were more ways for things to go wrong and need fixing; as long as you build an economy capable of producing basic resources at the start, it seemed like the worst that could happen was having to wait for a while for one resource or another. Still, it was pretty fun.

Cool management game! It’s impressive to have something this advanced in such a short time. Maybe next time try to add a bit more polish but it’s really awesome!
Nice one! I liked the building mechanic and the strategic aspect. Was a bit confusing for some things, like how to use the bauxite mine (I might be blind). Great entry!
Yea, it was the least expected to see a strategy game here]
Can't say much on my behalf because i am not a big fan of strategy games, but yours looks and feels good overall
I can second the idea of hex placemnet, but still a good work!

A good prototype. But something is missing. Some surprise or challenge.

Visually very satisfying. Sadly lower on ambience due to only effect sounds. Overall, a very stunning entry.
Cool little engine building game. I've found it a little bit confusing though. It took me a while to understand that I needed to enable/disable usage for each resource separately for some buildings and that some of them would just raise limit of the resources, while others would produce them. It would be nice if you included an explanation for each building on hover.
I also thought the game would include more adjacency rules (like the basic colony building), although I understand you've probably just cut this feature due to short jam time.

Super ambitious entry, glad to see it come together! Would've loved more adjacency rules as I just spammed hexes wherever, but still enjoyed it. Very hard to collect dues from my army of 50 people
This was a really good entry! Solid game and would like to see this have more features and some background music maybe?

Such a satisfying game, I really enjoyed just expanding my base and making all the numbers go up. Only thing I'd change is keep the player in the game after finishing, I wanted to screenshot my end result!
Nice game, but some more instructions would make it better, I didn't really know what I was doing.

It took me a while to figure out what i actually had to do to get stuff to work. The X/Y resource indicator is pretty confusing. You naturally assume that you want X to be higher and not lower. I personally see no reason to not just say 20/20 when you have 20 of 20 available. After I got that the game was a lot less confusing, and building things up for more and more numbers is always a solid baseline.
I was missing some more intricate processes. Each resource was pretty much linearly producible. It would be cool to have more dynamic "puzzle" like decisions to make. The biggest bottleneck for the last upgrade was pretty much money. And the best way is to mindlessly build compartments. Your only real "precise" instrument is the park, which is nice, but i wish there was even more. Especially to make the cool hex grid really worthwhile.
I feel like the tutorial could have included the activating of tiles too, but in the length of the jam its cool that you even have one, so that's fine.
Concluding:
(-) Doesn't use tile placement much and doesn't have many options for the player to choose
(+) Has Hex Grid aesthetic, tutorial, good Basics and Theme
This is a fun and satisfying game! There are some suggestions I would make: When doing resource management, it is often ideal to make the counters read Available/Total rather than Needed/Total. I echo the others in that there are some cool tile placement options, but there's a lot of room for additional features that use it. Other things: More tutorial on how buildings work - classify the different buildings in the build menu, for example! Music - I'm biased as a musician, but I always hope for some good music to set the mood. The title screen has a great vibe and some more music while playing would keep me engaged longer. UI is great! I really like how it registers what is ready/building, so keep developing this in that vein! Overall, it's fun, and I think there's some great ideas to build on.

Amazing work! It’s super interesting and has a vert unique way to paraphrase the theme, good job! And welcome to give our game a try! :)
