This game has a cool idea, and the pixel art style is always so captivating. The music, in particular, is really well done. It’s a great game overall, good work!

It's a very cute and fun game!! The music is great too!
J'ai adoré, merci pour cette pépite <3 La prochaine fois on écoutera mama squirrel
Attracted by the artistic style, it's a particularly interesting little game!
didn't expect to fight this way, the mechanic is really interesting and fun!!
Funny and cool game. I love the idea and the mechanics. And the graphics are lovely. Music is also very nice! Great job!
The people are safe thanks to me after eating that fountain and bookshelf haha Very short yet nice concept, well executed and cute retro Pokémon vibes
Dunno what townspeople noticed a change... there are no townspeople... there never were, just me and my big cheeks!

Great game, amazing graphics, clean gameplay and a great idea! Was expecting some pokemon-ish game, but no, inspired maybe, but a totally diffrent game for sure! And a lot of fun to just eat everything to throw it at enemys xd
When I ate the table and the candles, I felt all the wrinkles in my brain smooth out! Truly a super big eater, a little greedy cat, but what is notable is that during battles, the stats of each weapon are different. Sometimes, collecting the wrong items (with no damage) can lead to failure in battle.
Overall, it’s very good, the music gradually becomes intense, reminding players that it’s time to fight!
I really enjoy the joy that pixel art brings me, and I wish you a high score!

Oh wow you indeed meant _whatever_! I had lots of fun with this one, but Filthy Feline proved too much for me. Very cute concept and great execution! I wish there was a way to jump ahead to the next battle, waiting around for up to a minute with 5 things in your cheeks is no fun - in jarring contrast to the rest of this great game.
@ditam Hmm, this is odd, the battle should start immediately if your mouth is full. It wasn't the case initially, but I patched it out the day after.
@kyrio Ah, interesting. In that case, I think it must be due to those 2 hazelnuts you have by default: they are enough to defeat the Marten, so after that fight you're back in town with 5 items, and you have to wait the full minute. I'm not sure if I encountered this wait any other way.
This is a *very* good entry, congrats !
Very nice sprites, especially like the battle ones and cool turn based game!
Very fun idea and I got completely taken by surprise when I thought eating the house is a bug but turned out to be a feature. Well executed and beautifully done sprites
@ditam Oh, I never thought about this case! You're right, it may happen if you only use hazelnuts the first time. Sorry that it slipped through!
Definitely not what I was expecting! Super cute and fun entry. The graphics are especially appealing! Super tense soundtrack too!
The game was quite easy, even though I was sure I'd lose to the Ghoulish Gypaetus, but alas, the last townsperson in my cheeks saved the day!
Very unique experience!
Super fun game idea! Also very nice graphics and music. Neat game :)
You ended up with a really unique aesthetic. The game looks great! The game loop is pretty creative too. I like that you need to utilize what you collect.
The animation and art style here remind me of my favorite game, Pokémon.Great job!
Very cool and interesting idea for a game! It was a bit of trial and error for me to figure out what works and what does not work in the fights, but after getting the hang of it I really enjoyed it and the absurdity of just eating anything in your way to win the battles
Definitely feels like pokemon with the music, animations, and pixel art! I really enjoyed that the enemies were in the same order every time, because even though I failed a bunch at first. I could learn exactly which items worked on each one, and the next run I could make sure to avoid ones that don't work, and focus on items that do work. By the last run, I was prepping several enemies in advance to make sure my inventory wasn't plugged with items that wouldn't be helpful.
It wasn't too complex to learn quickly and get to the end of the game, which is a nice amount to think about when playing a game jam entry.
Nicely done!
@cameronpenner Yes, that was the idea! But we did have dialogue that gave hints about the next enemy, we just couldn't implement it in time so we added descriptions on the page. Thanks a lot!
Oh, snap, I forgot to put a comment down here.
You've got a good laugh out of me during the stream! What a nice callback to Pokemon while trying something new!
I think the graphics in both battle and exploration mode are great, and the music really kicks up the mood. There's a lot of charm in the presentation. I also think most things were pretty self-explanatory, with only a few question marks here and there (will go over them, soon.)
Personally, I though the description of the game kind of gave away the surprise factor for some of the items one could acquire. Furthermore, while I'm aware this measure was necessary for obtaining house as an item, I did think the need to tap a button to open a door was somewhat unintuitive. In particular, the prompt to open said door is all the way at the corner of the screen: it would have been nice if the button prompt was placed nearer to the object that would be acquired, so an association would be made to the player.
I'm also aware the raider descriptions weren't something that was able to be implemented in time. I would have loved to see a more polished game with in-game hints to give that information. On the other hand, the two hazelnuts and each boss being two-hit wonders does make the battle system really easy to win all four.
I was also a bit surprised by the fact that unused items in the previous battle stays with you. I think logistically, it makes sense to do that; but it also means one would be less prepared for the next boss battle. If I was informed of this earlier, I think I would have been a bit less frustrated with it. Although, to be fair, it's an easy problem for the player to work around.
You obviously have a very talented team! It sounds like the game had great ambitions, but was cut short by time. Hopefully the next jam will go more smoothly.
Super nice and polished game. Awesome. All my hazelnuts are yours ^_^
The charming watercolor art is truly outstanding and immediately drew me in.

Regarding gameplay: I feel the timer might not be entirely necessary, as it decreases quite slowly during item collection. Perhaps adding item descriptions or a preview of the next enemy could help players prioritize what to gather.
Overall, I really enjoyed it! The game is concise and engaging — I had a great time and completed it in about 10 minutes.
Ok firstly, did I just *EAT* that guy?? Secondly, the battle music is epic! Where is it from?? Also I love the fact you can use the items you've eaten in combat. This is really quite ingenious. The eating sound effect is also really pleasing. Overall, an really great entry!
@weirdbitgames All the music was composed (extremely fast) for this game by our teammate @jack-s, who also made the sound effects!
Woa, cool!
Nailed the little vibe, I got frustrated with the puzzles, but kept with it! and then read the descriptions and figured it out! Well done!
