It's pretty fun. Definitely doesn't appear to be "fake" 3d.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD45 → Froog

Amazing, the animations are very well done. Definitely did not expect this level of polish in an LD game.
It's amazing. It feels really fluid by those camera movements.
Great job, it's really fun and cute! The audio got buggy after jumping too fast holding an arrow key. But overall was a nice experience!
I loved it, and not just because frog and toad are friends :frog: You could even introduce some of the advanced elements of the level design (like the floating balloons and moving platforms) a little earlier. Definitely an idea worth expanding.
I love the art style and the idea! It was a little hard at first to realize that was going on and what to do but after a bit the game was fun and super cute. Great entry!
The game might be a little too simple but the art style is really great ! Good job :)
Love the concept of fog of war frogger
nice art, well done!
@marcel-oyuela-bonzani Fog of war frogger, that's exactly what it is. I never considered it. Haha thanks for giving me a great way to describe it!
The map generation/loading reminds me a lot of bastion (Looks great!) - also makes the player constantly play attention to the map. The animations of little frogs are really cute too! The tiny fall of the main frog after each jump felt really well - It rally improved the overall feel. The camera rotation was neat and I'm impressed at the amount of different tiles, both at the ground, the sky - there's a ton of them and they all look realy nice. The perspective was a bit tricky when there were platforms at different heights (such as on the last sky level) When it comes to the fire stage - I'm sort of dissapointed that the fire tiles were just a texture, without any fiery-damaging properties (but I understand time was short) I noticed the layers on rocks and grass are a bit visible, so there's this to complain about. I'm blown away you pulled this off all by yourself. Seriously impressed.
The graphical style is so cool in this game! I also love how cute the baby frogs are. Great job!
A very nice polished frog game. The art style is awesome and how the level builds up as you go looks great. I like how colorful the game is. I also noticed if I keep a movement button pressed I become a super frog and move with the speed of light buuut it didn't work in the next level because it caused me to drop :D a very nice polished LD game I enjoyed!
Looked really nice, and played pretty well! I liked the faked+real 3D pixel style. However I did not enjoy the camera spin at all (especially when getting a frog baby), made me dizzy and nauseous. :l
So many frog games this jam :frog: Frog love forever!
Your game played really well, too. I think it might have started a bit slow. But it is oh so nice to look at, while you think that! I'd also like to thank you for your post about the 2D-3D effect :)
@nurkkacthulhu Oh man, sorry about the dizziness. I'll add an option to disable it.
It's very interesting. Enjoyable gameplay, cute graphics and animations + good music and funny cocnept. Thx for your game and good luck! ^^
Fun little game, nice graphics and cool concept. Good job.
Nice gameplay and graphics.
really enjoyed your game
That is the least voxel-y voxel art I've ever seen. Was it achieved with just unlit shaders or something else? There's quite a bit of personality to the game with the camera angles and the baby frogs hopping all over you. I'm glad you don't penalize the player too much for falling off the level, I definitely got cocky thinking I knew what the level design was going to be, only to fall to my doom every time.
@peachtreeoath It's because it's not 3D at all. I draw each layer of the model as a regular sprite offset by a bit for each layer.
If you want more information I made a video about another game I made with this style

:O that's pretty awesome, never even considered that approach. Thanks for sharing!
