That's a pretty stylish entry. I really like your visuals, music and the choice of theme as well. I noticed a few things, in case you would appreciate some feedback:
- Coins can fall somewhere I can't actually reach (well, guess it's either realistic).
- I can move before the cam reaches me (is it supposed to be this way?).
- Once I've been stuck between a band member and a rail on the left and couldn't get out, just died there.
- Also after I died the bills were arriving again and again (sounds like my personal circle of hell).
The main question is... is it possible to survive, is there any ending besides you dying at some point? Or is it just me ain't playing jazz well?

@zhanna Thanks for the feedback! We fixed all the bugs you mentioned and updated the build.
It's possible to survive as long as you don't stop playing :)
I really like the style of this game. The idea is cool as well. The graphics is beautiful! I will give you 5 as innovation, I really think there is something never seen before at least for me. I would love to see an expanded version of this. I would suggest also to expand on what you can sing (like maybe jazz or blues or soul or country). Overall good entry!

man, some people are shit at throwing stuff. this is why it's tough to make it as a jazz musician? haha. I liked how the cyclists move and intro camera, tho. also, nice animal crossing-esque scat vocal.

Awesome game which made me laugh very loud couple of times. **1st playthrough:** I died almost at the beginning even without crossing the bridge. Just tried to test controls. **2nd & 3rd playthroughs:** I successfully reached the musicians and even started singing but also got died very fast. Btw, you may cheat and run faster by moving on diagonals. :runner: **4th playthrough:** Finally, I figured out that my character is able to pick coins from the ground. That's where all fun begun.
**Overall** : art is great, gameplay is pretty unique, humor  . Nice entry! jamster.png

Excellent interactive music! Was fun to try and hit good notes. Great graphics. I was confused as to what to do at first. The ambience is great. I like how the musicians are synced to the actual playing. Really cool overall!

Daaa Boooo Bii Diii! I loved jamming out with the smooth Jazz Boiz. Only complaint is that I would have loved for the fade to death to be a little slower, so I could jam out some more before falling over dead. Took a turn to figure out I needed to grab the coins to keep going :D! Hope to see more wonderful beautiful pieces from you in the future.

@magnanix Thank you! You should check the post-jam version on itch! There is a chill mode there

He he he hee I love procedural cute synth voices
A nice change of pace for a jam game, more of a jam experience. A cool atmosphere in game and plenty of attention to graphics which look great. Well done!

Wow, this is pretty... just loved the art style here, and the singing mechanic really made me smile. Spent half the time just composing music with the mouse. Beautiful, well done.

Congrats, well done.
Elegant art style. The atmosphere of the city was beautiful and alive. Maybe getting the coins could be faster. Moving diagonally makes the character walk faster.
Please, rate my game and leave some feedback too =]

This game is really stylish and has great graphics and audio. I didn't realize I can pick up coins by walking over them until I read the comments, so I was confused how to play at first.
Wow! This game is amazing! What a great concept! The graphics are beautiful and brought me in Amsterdam in no time! I found that I really have to rush to the band non to die immediately. This is a bit hard, expecially at the beginning when you have no idea of what you are supposed to do. The singing was funny, I loved it!

I love the graphics and it is amazing that you achieved to go on with procedurally generated music for a game jam but the gameplay is repetitive. Good job anyway!
I freaking love this game, and is probably my favorite so far. As a jazz musician I approve. I like how the chords are endless and the melody notes form parts of the chord. The rhythm section could be improved a little, the drummer should be always accenting beats 2 and 4 with the ride in between. If not using ride, the hi hat should click strongest on those beats. This is only occasionally it seems, as some of the loops are hitting them perfectly. As a concept, i can't get enough of it and really like 'improvising' and trying to choose the best notes. I would suggest including a tutorial, so that non-musician players can jump right in. it's also great because its not another musical 'beat' matching game which doesn't need a creative ear. I can see this becoming a valuable teaching aid for performers and improvisers, as you can include more info on screen, like intervals/note names/chord names and go as far as you like. You could offer the option to change the groove to samba/bossa/funk/double or half time etc. like jazz musicians do in concert, maybe for bonus cash or something? As well as including more extended chord sequences. theres potential for loads of great things post jam.. The best thing about this game is as that its a really fun vehicle for spreading the jazz-love. Well done!

This game warms my heart <3
The graphics are cute, it's all super stylish, you **totally** nailed Amsterdam - anyone would have recognised it instanly! But the music... Whoa. This is so infinitely nice. Everything fits together so well, even the notes you produce. I am in awe. This is one amazing piece of art.

The game is really beautiful ^^ I really love the idea and the procedural generated music is awesome. I can't believe you created this in such a short time ^^ The graphics are really cool and the environment is well made. First I didn't understand that I had to collect the coins and died because of that the whole time until I read it in a comment under your game :D It was fun to play and would play it again. More musicians would have been nice ^^ Like when you start alone and as time progresses more musicians come to jam with you ^^ I know that would have been impossible in this time but this game has a lot of potential and it would be cool to see it grow :D Especially with this cool generated music ^^ Really good entry :)
Is there such a thing as the perfect jam-game? I don't know, but I gave this one 5/5, so I guess there is!
The graphics are great, but the game is too difficult and there is little explanation on how to play. It was funny though that you put the movement controls in the windows.

Incredible technical achievement with the procedural music, I'm also really into the concept and graphics. Great job!
I visited Amsterdam when I was a young husband - so far away. I love jazz music and I love your game too. At first I said to myself that there is an incredible aesthetic in your game, but it’s was not my best impression. When I have understood that I had to sing, I laught. Really well done. Thank you for this musical experience - one of my favorite entries for the 44th LudumDare session. I would like to create some procedural track for my procedural game. Now I read your post how you did ++
Sweet entry, mate. The game feels very special, loved how you comes in slowly with credits, camera transition and player joining the band; its just a brilliant concept. Sound procedure mechanic keeps simple but it looks working great, maybe you wanna scale it. Funny and pleasant experience, great job!

This was a really smooth experience - a very well realised concept with some interest programming-slash-audio problems that you've solved in a way that made me go "aah!" when I got involved and moved my mouse to modulate my pitch. I loved the consideration for introducing you to the game world, with the cinematic riverboat and cyclists etc. It made me smile and I had fun, can't ask for much more than that.
WOW the biaural sonuds got me shook. The SOUNDS are amazing! The graphics are gorgeous as well. I can totally imagine myself in Amsterdam.
Some things I noticed: I can walk through buildinsg??
I'm not really sure what the point of the game was? s the whole mechanic of the game to hold down the mouse and sing for as long as possible?
Was really really enjoyable but couldnt survive beyond a minute. Would love to see this expanded to a game where you have to choose when to go out and play / more decisions around the daily grind of being a musician.
This is a wonderful entry! well done!
The visual style of the game is phenomenal with great music. Great entry, maybe try expanding it after the jam is done? Could be turned into a much better full game
The chill mode is really great, because I just wanted to listen to that music!

Great style! The Amsterdam vibe is real! :D It was hard to feel how well I was doing in the singing though (had to keep rhythm?) Some feedback in that area would have been great. As a creative experience, the singing felt really interesting with the different tones based on the mouse position.
Nicely done!
Simply beautiful, I love the art. I can imagine it's hard to survive in Amsterdam today.
Awesome entry with pleasing graphics!
I love the way the scenario is alive and always flowing, with the pedestrians and the bikers passing by.
I can feel the presence of the boats engines but not their proppelers, their hull creaking, some water chocking against their hull, the people footsteps and voices, the bikers bicycles (like some gear sounds and bike bells when they get into the camera's frustrum), the vegetation (like some tree leaves shaking), some wind because of the breeze that comes from coastal cities, the sfx feedback of the coins falling over the street, the river, the bushs and the spectators claping their hands or hiting the floor with their feets.
There's also a weird door behind the mic with "4 Xs" that the protagonist just pass through the collider and disappears.
And some weird AI problems with the bikers, they oftenly get stuck against the walls.

@dimesto52 You have to collect (by walking over) the coins that people throw at you in order to not run out of money.
Check the post-jam version! Hopefully it's more clear there.
Artistically, this is an absolute masterpiece of a jam game! The graphics are vivid, the music is beautiful, the pedestrians and all the movement going on convey a great urban mood. Also, I am completely in love with the singing mechanic, including the hand movements was a brilliant idea! If there was anything negative I had to look for, then I'd say the feedback for singing is a bit vague - do I need to stay in rhythm with the band? Is the tone pitch important for success? All in all: Thank you for this great game!
I loved this game. I have contact with autonomous musicians and this game touched me in the heart. It's very innovative and fun. It have some bugs and it very hard, but this issues didn't bother me so much. Loved the game
I love the aesthetics and sounds of this game. It reminds me of something like Animal Crossing for some reason. It just feels like a little game world I could find myself visiting to relax. So great!
