cool simulation/puzzle - having three levels that ramp up in difficulty is a nice touch for a jam game! did you make the music yourself too? it definitely gives me airport vibes :)

jhax 2026-04-21 08:24

@universeflow yep, music is also me! Can get quite far with looping stuff with minor tweaks when a pretty minimalist sound works well for the vibe

Why are planes ignoring call to land? I selected land command, broadcasted it, plane has green checkmark but just flies around and doesnt land.

jhax 2026-04-21 13:01

@red-horde-games you need to give the planes a Circle Runway command AND the Clear To Land Command before they'll properly come in to land

If they're clear to land they should have this symbol:

ClearSignal.png

This checkmark *should* mean the plane's received whatever command you've just sent

CheckMark.png

If that's still not working it could be a bug, but I might need a bit more info to track it down!

Thanks for playing all the same!

So very lemmings-y!!! (even the explosions!) Love love love my time with it. Still playing it in fact. The pilot confirmations sounds are hilarious!!!!! I actually liked the convoluted (but in physically accessible positions for my fingers) control scheme, it added to the fantasy and definitely added to the chaos!

I'll be playing more of this!

nuelijarma 2026-04-21 19:13

That's way too much to handle for my small brain. Extremely fun, nice sounds, nice concept, cute graphics. Well done!

ingi 2026-04-21 19:14

Felt ready to land real planes after landing two of them and completing the tutorial level with a D grade :smile_cat:

splix 2026-04-21 19:28

The game does a great job of incorporating the theme into its mechanics, which is really interesting. The concept is solid. That said, it can be a bit tricky to get the hang of at first because of the variety of mechanics. Still, it’s a really good game with great art and chill music. So, well done!

One of my favourite entries this LD!!! Feels so satisfying to get a groove going and just lining up all planes. Amazing job!

goodwayman 2026-04-22 08:15

Very interesting and challanging game! At first I had a real trouble to send circle command (didn't notice at first that I need to also choose the runway and the direction). Also had some trouble with remembering keys for specific signals - maybe using some consecutive keys on the keyboard (like 1, 2, 3, etc.) would be more intuitive? Apart from that, I really like the graphics and especially the mechanics. The game has true potential! Good job!

stealthorc 2026-04-22 14:34

I love your Idea here! But I found it quite hard to grip at first but I've got some Ideas on how you could straighten things up so its easier to get in, less clutter and easier to control as a whole! Because the mechanics itself seem already really good its just that bit of structure/polish in it and it could shine really well imo! Heres my list: 1. The tutorial is way out there on the top right and once I clicked on OK the timings on when I see the next message is not graspable and I was hanging there for a few seconds at times wondering, oh and now? is this the whole tutorial? only to then after a while the next window show up! Having things in the menu highlight and have the tutorial box move to where these things are in on the screen (while being highlighted) would make things easier to understand and having the tutorial immediately go to the next window without any delay would make it way more clear that we're still in the tutorial. 2. The camera controls are waaaay to slow I felt, I felt like I was a snail 3. The controls on the top left are all over the place with hotkeys, I think standardizing them to a 4-5 key kind of grid system would make it way easier and fix some of the "depth" issues that one encounters: for example I struggled knowing whether me pressing C already is a valid signal to send and I didnt know I had to select a runway with 1 and then south or north with Z and N These hotkeys are not well highlighted to the player and all over the keyboard! I think having the first commands like circle, land, taxi, altitude. speed, pattern could alll be bound on like q,w,e,r,t,y then you would be in the mode "circle" and in that mode me pressing A would then select the first runway S the second etc and then the second row with ASDFG would change and A would select south and S north. This coupled with these actions being displaye prominently in a bar at the bottom that would properly update with highlights would make this so much clearer! 4. The controls of the signal direction with Q and E felt quite tedious and slower than they should imo! I would prefer to be able to shoot my signal at the locatgion of where my cursor is. and if we were to combine this mouse control with the qwerty focused control i mentioned in 3. this would make thins so smooth i think!

But I dont want to just get stuck on all the Ideas I had come up immediately wehen I played it, I also wanted to talk about the things I found relly cool! - The planes showing their current action with an icon above them made things really clear what they were about to do! - I had so much fun playing it and getting to organize the planes to get them to land (and not crash - but oh boy so many crashed into each other xD) - I found all commands/signals to be really clear only taxi had me a bit stuck as I didnt get what it actually does from just the tutorial.

But I hope you keep at it and improve upon it just a bit because I think the idea behind it is really cool and could lend itself for quite a nice roguelike system with upgrades or a long running simulator like game where you gradually expand your airport and get more and more towers, more lanes etc! really cool!

Nice game! Despite the simple graphics, the main mechanic is really cool - I enjoyed playing it a lot. Hope you'll develop it further!

oxnh 2026-04-23 08:50

Nice game I'm guessing battling the controls is supposed to be part of the experience so I don't really have complaints about that. I do wish you had to land less planes in a level though, I was doing level 3 and I swore I'd landed quite a few but then more spawned. Once you've figured out a strategy for a level completing it all the way feels like a chore cause of how the planes tend to mope around outside your signal range even when they're circling a runway. Also the mr bean voices for the pilots were quite funny nice job.

purrseus 2026-04-23 16:31

A screenshot really does your game a disservice, in motion and with the (really, really good!!) soundtrack this is a totally stylish minimalist aesthetic! It's impressive how you created such an in depth simulation. Great use of the theme! Even though it's very hard, but that kinda adds to it, in a way.

In most cases, using the keyboard layout as basis for the keys is the way to go (if I have to run around with arrow keys and do actions with X and Z it requires finger acrobatics on my QWERTZ style keyboard), but in the case of this game where I had to look up the controls all the time, it was quite annoying how often I pressed the wrong key  I know, I know, I just changed my keyboard layout to QWERTY, but only after it annoyed me way too much. It never occured to me, but does Godot use your local layout as the keyboard map in the game instead of the user's? If yes, that's good to know for the future.

ribout-horace 2026-04-24 08:28

Remarkably well done! While it's really hard to navigate all the option and menuing, it make the game tense while being slighty slow. The limitation of signal distance is frustrating but in retrospect, it force the player to play quick when a plane is in range, and so, prioritize the right decision, creating moment of tension.

Also the visual is just very clean!

exteegi 2026-04-26 02:53

Cool concept. I landed two planes and I'm not sure how I did it, but I think I'm ready to become a real air traffic controller now.

garaptic 2026-04-26 11:40

It's a really good game with interesting mechanics, and the use of airplane controls was a great way to explore the theme. I did have a bit of a hard time figuring out what to do, but once I figured it out, it was quite fun! Great job! :]

igorekkedziorek 2026-04-29 12:30

I have no idea how to play but graphics and sound are cool

marudziik 2026-04-29 14:34

I really liked your entry. Initially I didn't really understand what to do, I think the tutorial shows up a little bit slowly - but after reading some previous comments, the gameplay was pretty clear. The idea is great and the only problem I see is with the controls, which could be made simpler. Or maybe just improved, because even leaving the previous command on would be of great help.

Unfortunately there's a way to get soft-locked in the last stage:

the glider landed beyond the towers reach

(the glider landed beyond the tower's reach, I cannot ask it to taxi - for whatever reason LD images are broken, see [link](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qV1nAmmHH40xVNmfQC75sPAvZfSPVsOO/view))

Other than the issue above and maybe some controls improvement, I've had lots of fun (mis)managing air traffic. Congrats!

thatfirey 2026-05-01 00:25

Pretty hard to control, but still an interesting idea of controlling planes like that, could be a really interesting quick strategy simulator with just slightly more refined controls, airplane pilots radio sounds are fantastic 10/10 VA.

artur-hawkwing 2026-05-07 00:26

This was a really creative game. My only comment is that a time-slow option when entering commands would be great -- it was a bit easy to miss the window for landing otherwise. Very cool idea though -- and a really creative take on the theme
