Very short, but i love that you made it for the gameboy :D
Cute little game
I really like the retro graphics! Not sure if theres something im doing wrong or missing but i cant seem to move around or continue the text after starting
@blackcat508 you have to press "space" ou "j" to start the game. and then to close the dialogue box you have to press again "space" or "J". then use WASD to move and R to reload the level if you are stuck. i hope that will help :)
@roroto-sic haha I swear i was pressing every key on my keyboard, I must have missed them somehow
Awesome! Congratulations for making a GB game, the result is outstanding!
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong? I've pushed a ball onto each of the four targets here, but nothing happened. Screenshot 2025-10-12 030747.png
@orangeoceans Balls are on targets so you were supposed to go next level BUT i didnt know it was possible to achieved what you did with the beetle in the starting area haha ! consequently my victory code does not check your proposal. I updated it and now you should be able to move on to the next level with your. (and if someone else finds another solution they shouldn't be stuck either).
if you have time to tell me (or record) your path it will be super nice. i tried to reproduce it and didn't manage to do.
I liked this game! The texts and graphics are really cute. And I like the mechanic of combining dung balls, that feels like a fresh take on the sokoban genre. :) I'm just too stupid to solve the first level. But I feel like that's on me :D
Pretty tricky puzzle — the half-step movements make it really challenging, like you’re solving several puzzles at once!
Always fun to see another GB game. I'll confess to struggling with the first real level but I'm unsure if it was intended that the balls could move half-tiles as I could never correctly align the rightmost ball. Great pitch and pleasant art assets.
This is a fun little game! At first I thought it was all going to be grid based, so it was interesting (and challenging) when there were smaller increments to move around. I ran into the same issue where the game didn't finish on level one. Path: go around the first dung then push the far left one down just a bit. Push the the other left one to the right into the bottom right target. Then go around the loop and push up the far left so you can go back and get it into the bottom left target. Then you can go up and around to get the top dung into the top target. All that's left is the first dung, and you can only get it in the target from the starting area.
Thank you very much for your comment and for the path. I tried on the web game and on the downloadable ROM (the patched one), and in both cases I unlocked the victory animation and advanced to the next level (and i also tried to not perfectly centered the small balls in the target and i still unlocked the victory animation)
It's a bug that I can't reproduce, damn :/.....
Good theme development. Wish I had an original gameboy to run it
Art style and audio is amazing! This really looks and feels like a GB game. I also like the gameplay, but I feel the game does suffer a bit by not being grid based. As some other people mentioned, I was also stuck at the first level and when I solved it, it doesn't seem to do anything.

@le-don Thanks for your comment. You didn't win because you left a target empty. And the game is on grid. Big balls move on a 16x16 grid. Small balls move on 8x8 grid. but you sometime (like in the level 1 ) have to change ball grid)
@roroto-sic I see, thank you for the information!
Such a cute dung beetle!! I really love your BGM and the 1-bit retro visuals! Too bad I don’t have a Game Boy to play it (We’ve got a dung beetle in our game too!)
The mixed grids are a really interesting puzzle decision, It was really tricky but I really enjoyed it! Well done!
Very nostalgic feel. Had fun pushing the poop around. The music was spot on too. Thanks for the game.
Very cute game. The music gets a bit repetitive, but it goes well with the mood of a gameboy game ^^
I finished level 01 in the same configuration as @orangeoceans, so thanks for updating the victory code. For me, at least, the sequence was: 1. Getting out of the starting area without moving much the ball that was there. 2. Getting both smaller balls into the aligned targets at the bottom. 3. Pushing the big ball that is up into the target on top of one of the smaller balls. 4. Going back into the starting space to push the initial big ball into the remaining target.
Doing this also left me "trapped" in the starting space. Then I was not able to finish level 02 even though I achieved this configuration:

I was also able to create a big ball inside the wall, so maybe that level is a bit buggy (pun intended hihi)

A gameboy rom ? wow ! Impressive and an interesting take on the genre
@pimenton Thank you very much for your very detailed message. You didn't win level 2 because you didn't collect all the poop, you left a small ball. It's my fault I didn't explicitly say that you had to collect all the balls to win. (Thanks to you I added a clarification in the description). And your situation makes me think that I should perhaps add a rating system for a post-jam version. (2 stars if you complete the level by collecting all the balls, and only 1 star if there are balls left)
This might be one of the more challengeing sokoban's I've played, really simple concept to understand but hoo boy those last too puzzles got me good.
I love the graphics, especially the leaves with the double outlines, that contributes so much to the overall atmosphere!
I really didn't want to let all my children down, and so I rolled. I think I understand where the friction comes from as I believe players (esp. those accustomed to sokoban) will need more coaching where the twin-grid system is concerned. I personally think it makes it feel imprecise though it makes sense after reading that was your design. I do think the decision to allow smaller balls to merge to your detriment is a clever one, and overall I really enjoyed it. Seems like tons of work went into this and maybe you're thinking about a post jam version? Great stuff!
Lovely to see more homebrew entries! This one was a very tricky game to beat, I liked the unique take on the formula.
I recommend selecting Game Boy from the Ludum Dare platform dropdown. Your game is not currently tagged as Game Boy game so it cannot be found from LD's platfrom search: https://ldjam.com/tags/platform
Nice poop collecting simulator! Really enjoyed playing it and went half mad from the music, just as it should be:) Great job!
Loved the graphics! Took me a while to realize the "half steps" were a thing. Maybe that could've been emphasized with a texture on the floor? Cool entry though, really like the concept of a dung beetle for a sokoban!
Nice to see some love for the good ol' Gameboy!
I wasn't able to finish the first level after tutorial, but apparently I'm not the only one. I suppose there's some trick and/or hidden logic to it, but I couldn't wrap my head around it.
Either way, I like what you were going for!
Level 2 is driving me insane. The big poop does not roll into the right position and I feel stupid...please...please for the love of all that is holy...help me help my family!
@spice-cabinet here is the solution (only bc of your family )
1 push UP the rightest little poop.
2 merge the middle poop to left poop by pushing the middle poop from his right.
3 push the little poop to the right of the area and put it on the rightest target.
4 push the big ball next to the small one. be carefull to not push the big ball to the border of the area center.

5 push the small ball to the down.
Capture d’écran 2025-10-22 212447.png
6 push up the big ball
Capture d’écran 2025-10-22 212644.png
7 you can nox push the big ball to the target in center and small ball to rightest target :)
This is cool! I think the "half-tile" mechanics threw me for a loop originally, it might have been better to tutorialize that more / put in some easier levels to get used to it first. The 'combining together dung balls' mechanic is actually really interesting and adds a unique twist to Sokoban. It's surprising how much fertile ground there still is in Sokoban variants!! Also it's really cool that you did it for the gameboy! Also the graphics are cute! Well done overall
