What a fantastic idea and flawlessy executed! Well done, or in the eternal words of deepr: "I like what the future holds. I don't like thinking about the past."
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD48 → deepr

Such a great little idea. I am genuinely proud of my post lol. Great job!
Hilarious! This satire is a really fantastic idea. I'm worried that I will end up spamming your site with the most absurd quotes I can possibly generate.
It is a great idea. But my english is a bit bad.
Funny stuff
Nice interpretation of the theme!
Lonely game traveler:)
Very interesting idea, you can make some truly inspirational quotes :)
I love how you used deeper as an emotion for this one
Funny little game with good idea !
.
Hi @dyp54
Of course we would consider rating your game, if you actually tried ours and didn't just comment without playing it  (we can see that you didn't leave any posts)
Please don't game the system, we're all just trying to have a good time here, and after all, you can't win anything :)
this is a great concept! I wonder if this could become the Next Big Thing.
That's the better version of LinkedIn. I now feel empty inside, thank you for this experiment.
Seriously cool concept! Some of the quotes had me in tears!
Wow, generating deep content really is addicting. I spent about an hour with your game now
Do you know InspiroBot? I feel like I am its algorithm now :robot:. And I spent hours on that site too. Maybe I'm susceptible to pseudo profoundness. Profauxndness?
I love your idea, I love your implementation. The design is super clean. deepr deserseves to be seen and used. Do you plan to support the site after Ludum Dare? It has the potential to become really big.
My only gripe is that sometimes you _just need that one word_ after figuring out all the rest, but it's not there. Though that is part of the whole experience of course. Oh, and is there a way to see random posts? Or only ever the newest ones and the ones with the highest score? Because I kind of feel like that would massively favor the posts on the leaderboard.
Anyway. Amazing idea, amazing implementation. Congratulations on creating a game that will linger on the mind long after "gamier" games are forgotten! I already spread it to circles beyond Ludum Dare. Thank you
**"This is stupid and pointless."** sorry
A great ludum dare entry is understood, not from it's scent but oh wow cool.
Ok, genius! I'm in awe. How did you even do it? I love it so much! Congrats
Currently I just try out as many games as possible but I really can see myself come back and make some really awesome (stupid) inspirational quotes. It's so much fun and I like your interpretation of the theme.
Thanks @verbante The words are generated by a language model that has basically learned to predict the next word in a sentence. It learned this on many movie subtitles, as they are freely available on opensubtitles.org. The model then generated the 10 most plausible words at any position on a set of quotes that we got from another source, and these are then the alternatives you are able to select on screen. If you are more curious about the single components, you can check out the credits here: https://godeepr.herokuapp.com/credits/
It's a genius idea! Some random quotes are just so touching.
This is so creative. Great job.
Changing the second word in a quote makes the list of words turn white when I hover over them with the mouse. It turns out that about 1 in 10 times I open the list, this happens. I am on Firefox on Windows.
What a cool idea, I love how these game jams bring out these little pearls of creativity, not only the creative game idea, even making your players have to get creative in this case :-)
Don't get me wrong, I love my jump 'n' runs and tetris clones as much as the next person but what I really look forward to in every LD, aside from making a game myself which is the most fun, is this kind of unconventional break with traditional game making. I just read your comment above about the inner workings of your algorithm, very nice technicalities, we are all at least partly programmers here. Really cool!
I like the way you integrate the game with the community. Letting others rate your quotes is a good way to incentivise putting the effort in to really find a funny combination in the large space of possible sentences that each quote presents.
A really cool entry, 5/5 in the Audio rating ;-)
An excellent idea and possibly the best take on the theme I have seen in the whole jam ! It really captured the essence of what social networks can feel like sometimes while allowing you to be deep to your heart's content. Great entry !
Strengths : - A Social Network ! - In a Ludum Dare ! - Is this the real life ? - (Woops this is not Deepr, cannot allow myself to be deep anymore)
Possible improvements : - Real social media integration for the giggles ?
Congratulations !
This is such a great concept, well made. However, I don't think it really fits the theme, even though it plays really well on an alternate definition of "deep," because there's no process where you go "deeper." Honestly, that's just nitpicking, and "theme" is the category that matters least to me when scoring a game.
I really loved the idea and execution, and I think that if it were expanded in its current form, it could be a wonderful persistent project.
I'd love to see this connected with Facebook or Twitter accounts, with the ability to share to those platforms. I imagine it could be very successful.
The core mechanic of selecting words to create new quotes could also make for a great "Jackbox" style party game, if it were scoped to a small group, timed format. There's lot of potential here.
(I also had that bug where items would sometimes disappear on Firefox, but webdev is a hellscape so it didn't bother me or impact my enjoyment.)
Really great concept an dunique take on the them, it's super well executed and I genuinely had fun searching a silly quote and reading other people's post ^^
I'm looking forward to see the results :)
Really unique idea! It's different than anything else I've played so far in this jam. It's an interesting take on the theme, I'm not sure it fits that well but it's great that you're thinking outside the box. Great work!
Funny concept ^^ It was really funny to try that. I'm curious about the best quotes which you will select
this something else 1st i thought u could manually write quotes in there and i have a bunch of those stacked away so i rubbed my hands there for a second
then i realized there was a system for making quotes "by hand" (--> no copypaste) so I did this --> 13_biloxi.PNG and i gotta say, I'm mighty proud of it!
reminds me of tweets from this dude https://twitter.com/keatonpatti/status/1148240819796807681 i recommend 'em they're really entertainimg imo :D
well thanks for making this really broadens the scope of what you can possibly achieve in a game jam in 72h also I checked a few of the quotes people left on there - there's some pretty cunning ones!
Nicely done! Take care :grinning:
Well done! There are some great inspirational quotes on the leaderboard so far :)
This was really funny and an original twist of the theme! At first I was worried I had to come with something on my own, but I really like the way you did it!
This is super funny, I couldn't help but share it to all of my friends. This is well though out and to a superbe web polish standard. Just bravo.
Great Job, the randomness is the best part. I like being able to edit posts, making it limited to what I can choose increases the fun. Very Addictive gameplay.
I love this take on the theme, super unique idea!
Very nice idea, very original.
"All babies were born."
Oh my God this is genius. Would love to select a background for each quote as well and an option to show me a random quote, but otherwise perfect.
What a creative idea! Definitely a bit tricky to find something that even makes sense, but I guess that's also the fun part :D Only suggestion is adding some options to pick from for the picutre as well
As someone who used to use InspiroBot on a nearly daily basis, I really love getting that human element in there to screw things up to perfection :'D Awesome idea!
This was… Pretty unexpected. So I can just react by a not-so-deep post : "Expect the unexpected, and you'll never be surprised. Don't know if it's good or a bad news"
Great gods of Ludum Dare, if there is any, please make this game a top 10, i love the idea, i love the mechanics and the social platform feeling of it, i rated it 5/5, please, thank you, amen.
What a truly original game, a brilliant take on the theme! Nice clean, easy-to-use interface too! Well done!
This is a very original concept! I will admit, I don't use social media and I don't read inspirational quotes. But I did have a lot of fun creating nonsensical things like this:
Screenshot_1.jpg
So I say, well done! Really a unique idea and a hilarious take on the theme.
Now this is pretty darn genius. Let's see what random poorly-rated trash Peace Of Cake Games can come up with other than "A politician may find us a couple of kings, but we can't depend on them." Honestly I don't think that one is *too* bad, but there are certainly better ones....
What an addictive game!! my eyes are burning from not blinking the last half hour... Great idea and execution :)
Perfect facebook simulator. Ten out of ten, would 1 like = 1 prayer again
Feel confused. Is that really a game? Or a social-meh mockery? Do we need to make sense of quotations, or just make them darn silly? The actual question is - why. Maybe, it's the writer in me, but I'd rather write my own lines. So, the idea seems cool, but still, not much playing there.
@ardorugus It's whatever you want it to be, we're not imposing any categories  Thanks for "playing" anyway! :)
I performed a little exercice in hacking on your site. I'm sorry.
@a-bond Haha, I was actually surprised it took almost 3 weeks for someone to do that! We'll consider it part of the game :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
