LD44 — Your life is currency

Blood Thief by Draedrus 2019-04-30T16:30:22Z

Cool game with nice perspective! The second level lagged a bit on my browser, I don't know how the other versions compare. I feel like it would be a lot easier for the player if the two attacks and their direction would be activated by the mouse. That way, you wouldn't have to align yourself with your target by keystrokes. But nonetheless, a cool game!

The Tail of the Serpent by Le Slo 2019-05-01T10:56:46Z

What an amazing game! Captivating and tricky puzzles as I have never played them before. Wow! :snake:

Darkling by jordantanner 2019-05-06T07:25:19Z

Very cool game! The audio fits the atmosphere really well, and the story behind the gauntlet is just great!

Killing in the name of... by sver 2019-04-30T17:03:59Z

Funny Game! Maybe it would be a good idea to have a persons stats displayed by a hover event, by that you could reduce some clicking. The music is also good, But I found the constant hammering noise a bit distracting. But even like this, it's a really comic game, the screams are hilarious! Bug Report: One guy keeps on floating above the abyss, maybe the gods want to spare him?

Timing of Ignatius by Danielk 2019-04-30T16:02:52Z

Cool little game, congratulations! I was playing on a Microsoft surface laptop, with its strange 3:2 Screen format. Even on full screen, I had to search the gate to the next stage by blindly ramming into the right side of the screen repeatedly. But again, really nice game and great visualization of the remaining lifetime

The Price of a Palace by TPZombie 2019-04-30T16:22:13Z

Wow, what a fun little game! Big congratulations! It would be really great if you could tear down some buildings, as well as a way of seeing if theres already a single slave in the 'love pot'. But even without these features, your game is really fun and suits the theme!

LD45 — Start with nothing

Starting From Nothing by sorlok 2019-10-29T19:17:06Z

Creative entry! Thank you for acknowledging mental health, video games are a powerful medium  I found it a bit distracting to click the buttons all the time, maybe it would've been a good idea to have display of the bubble-informations as a hover-event.

LooPatHero by Finlal 2019-10-27T09:32:47Z

What a great game, I'm really impressed! Beautiful art style, as well as a fun twist by not only upgrading yourself, but also the the track! It would be a great addition to give a possibility to make the track bigger. Nonetheless great idea and neat execution! :sparkler:

Dissociation: Shadow of oneself by mindtricks 2019-10-08T10:21:40Z

Fun Game! I really like combination of street fighter and the power up mechanic. A cool art style as well! I found the music to be a little bit off the general feeling of the game, but nonetheless a nice entry :D

Red Rush by helpcomputer 2019-10-08T09:10:35Z

A nice little game! I wasn't sure in the beginning what the goal was, but I eventually figured it out! :D Very nice sound effects as well as great, suiting and consistent graphics,

Color me Blind by Re-Markable 2019-10-08T13:25:01Z

What a beautiful game! Congratulations! I'm not quite sure what to make from it, but I certainly enjoyed it. Bravo!

From Start to Finish (Web) by Oddmes 2019-10-08T11:08:31Z

Nice looking game, but I couldn't progress. You literally start with nothing, and apparently, that's not enough for me^^ Still fun to look at the letters rearranging

POLYMON by PIXAMENTORY 2019-10-09T08:56:57Z

Cool Concept and Execution! I had problems to aim my attacks and was just jumping all over the place.

The Seven by Torami 2019-10-08T09:16:37Z

Great Concept behind the game! But it's really hard, especially to find the right colors. I think it would have been a nice feature the have an increasing difficulty level by adding more and more colors, so the player can get used to the position of the colors on the keyboard.

Trueque by victor_reiner 2019-10-08T09:24:45Z

Nice, well executed game! Funny without being obnoxious :) I'm not sure if I'm blind, but I still haven't found out what the losing condition is. I still had some barters left when 'Game Over? popped up. Great game nonetheless!

Monkey Mountain Holiday! by scalliondelight 2019-10-09T09:06:04Z

Nice Game! Cool Concept, Art and Music! What would've been nice is a fighting system with a little more variety, maybe something like a dodge/block/charge attack. But these features would've probably been implemented if there was more time, so great job! :D

Our Last Chance by Rollersteaam 2019-10-08T09:32:32Z

Compliments! A fun and driven game. I feel like it would have been nice to have a simple grid as a background, so orientation is a little easier. But I really liked the stylized and erratic graphics!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Triage by phi 2020-04-21T09:43:42Z

@santaclausnl Dangit! Working on a game for too long makes you lose your intution what the players need to be informed about. We've added some descriptions on here, so feel free to try again :)

Peck Beach by matfernandestt 2020-04-23T12:56:43Z

A really nice looking game! And the general music is an absolute banger  ! I felt the attack system to be more sophisticated than it should've been, I would have rather explored the beautiful world, because you make it look really appealing. The music during the attack scenes was quite brutal on the ears, another point that made me want to explore more. But nonetheless a cool and beautiful entry!

Noble by SludgeKey 2020-04-22T20:51:43Z

Oh. my. God. I love it! I think some medievalesque music would've greatly fitted the atmosphere, but I didn't consider it as something lacking. It would've been a cool easter egg to be a able to pair same-sex nobles, and to be able to remarry widows and widowers.

At the moment, there isn't really a gameplay importance to the different houses, they just add to the atmosphere. I think this idea could be used to add some sort of competitiveness to the game, in combination with the mechanic that only male descendants could carry their family name. Your game is a raw jewel!

Wayfarers by Tednesday 2020-04-27T17:48:35Z

Great game! Cool music, fitting sound effects (I got some AoE-vibes ) und a nice mechanic to balance population and food. It reminded me a lot of a game our team did two jams ago! :D There is a glitch at the end though: The mammoth killed me and the game-over sign appeared. But the people-counter kept decreasing (-1,-2,-3,...). After some seconds the mammoth was defeated, the red line continued and then the win-screen appeared  Nonetheless a beautiful and polished entry! :D

Tree of Life by SantaClausNL 2020-04-21T08:08:16Z

Cool Game! When the wave consisted of some slow and strong tank bugs, I wished for a fast forward button, but nonetheless a nice entry   Especially impressive considering your age!

Feed The Flame(s) by Jeremia 2020-04-21T09:52:51Z

Cool Game! I loved the idea of the gasoline leaving a trail behind you can light on fire, I think this would make a great mechanic for a puzzle game! :D I think some crackling sound for the fire would have been a cool addition, as well as a way to retrieve the gasoline after having it pushed to the edge of the map. But nonetheless a funny entry :)

Keep The Social Distance by DrSomma 2020-04-23T18:17:37Z

A nice and rather smooth game! I really liked the art style, but I think the progression of difficulty could really improve with some tweaking. As others have pointed out, you get a bit overwhelmed in the beginning

The King's Knight by Fax 2020-04-21T09:59:33Z

Wow! Beautiful Art, both graphics and audio, crisp animations, and an innovative way to move to king. Overall an amazing entry! Something that could be fixed in the future is that the sword cuts through the walls, if you're standing right in front of them and press SPACE. But this isn't really detrimental to the gameplay :) Bravo!

Wandering Spirit by RandomLB 2020-04-27T18:02:46Z

Very cool visuals! I would've liked some progression, and maybe a more atmospherical feel to the sound effects. Nonetheless a nice and finished entry :)

Feed The Monster by Svalinn85 2020-05-08T13:10:00Z

A really cool game! Fun mechanics, and fitting pixel art. I found the ambient music really good, but the unharmic and metallic trumpet irritated a bit. But still, a cool an polished entry, especially considering the start screen and fun tutorial

Catastrophe: Wildfire Firefighters by Kaappis 2020-04-23T13:05:29Z

A really intense game! I love how you went with this arcade music and art style! It's also interesting to see how some jammers went with keeping a fire alive, while others such as you went with keeping a community threatened by fire alive. I'm not quite sure if this is a bug or a feature, but somehow I wasn't able to use the bulldozer more than once or twice.

Rolling Chicken TD by RodPraet 2020-04-21T09:40:26Z

What a fun game! I figured out fast how the controls worked and was able to enjoy myself. I would have loved a possibility to carry my eggs back to the nest. And the randomness of the rolling chicken is hilarious!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Atomos by phi 2020-10-06T09:00:32Z

@oxalotte @northman64 Thanks for your feedback! We were a bit short on time, and couldn't really come up with some nice music that suited the feel of the game and its visuals. In the end, we decided that we rather have only sound effects than an annoying and somewhat "off" background audio :)

Atomos by phi 2020-10-06T19:00:19Z

@lereveur Thank you for your feedback :musical_note:

Looping for lΓΆΓΆps by Steffo 2020-10-06T13:23:37Z

Interesting Game! Cool Graphics and Music, and to make games out of memes is just :loop: :cat: :ok_hand:

I found the button activation a bit weird and annoying, because everything was always moving and it was quite difficult to hit them correctly. What do you think of having to press a random key (O,7,L, ...) to activate a button?

A Letter to Haedrics Wife by AndideBob 2020-10-06T07:17:20Z

I really liked your artstyle! I imagine you must've spent most of your time creating these cool panels.

Auraboros by nicross 2020-10-06T17:49:59Z

I'm disagreeing with most of the other commentors! I really liked your game (Highscore 141, Yeah!) and found the audio really appealing.

But as you have commented yourself, it lacks a bit of a tutorial. - How exactly can I imagine my movement? - Is every "approaching" sound an evil entity? - Can you only "shoot" the evil entities, or can you also outrun them?

Something that threw me off a bit was the movement description. There were WAY too many possible movements for not having any visual feedback

I think for another implementation or your next game (audio based), spend as much effort on the explanation of movements as you have spent for the explanation of your narrative. It would probably also be a great idea to have some sort of "screen saver", maybe some dark, wavering atmospheric lights. That way, the player can be sure that the game doesnt have trouble loading but is actually supposed to be played "in the dark"

Electro Dash by Asue 2020-10-06T07:33:04Z

Great Game! Artstyle, Audio and Gameplay all worked together nicely :)

On Firefox, everything ran smoothly

I think it would've been great to see how many lives you have left, as well as to maybe have some visuel cues for when you are dashing. Right now, I wasn't really sure for how long I was dashing, and often crashed into the "back" walls of obstacles.

Age of Amperes by JHax 2020-10-06T07:25:08Z

Cool game, and an absolute glorious name! Are the different obstacles (for example the triangular thingy) inspired by real life circuits?

I found that when I changed the size of the game (either by the in game toggle, or by going fullscreen), all the buttons stopped working and I had to reload.

Astronaut training by andriirinah 2020-10-06T09:53:45Z

Nice game! A clean implementation with a cool artstyle. Well done! As others have said, after a while it gets a bit repetitive, but nonetheless a great entry :)

Stix by Sombrero Guy 2020-10-06T17:35:29Z

This was a really nice ... game? I really liked it, but it felt more like some exploratory journey through this world you created! I was really surprised when I found the deer, and felt an odd joy when they hurried away from me  :deer:

I found the sound to be a bit off, i think some more "fireplacey" guitar or harmonica sound might have suited your world better. A cool sound effect could've been a loop of burning logs, and the closer you'd be to the fire, the louder it could be :)

Something to think about for your next entry is some sort of 2.5D collision detection. Right now, you can't walk "behind" a tree, the tree as a whole sprite collides with the avatar as a whole sprite.

But nonetheless a cool and well done entry, congratulations! :sparkles:

Donut Island by odedro987 2020-10-07T12:32:02Z

An overall nice entry, bravo! What might be a good idea is to have some sort of warning before an enemy spawns, so that you could move to find a better point of attack :)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Sunk Cost by bradur 2021-04-27T08:59:10Z

Wonderful entry!

The Music and sound effectgs are well suited for the feel of the game, and I love the details you managed to implement, especially how the torpedos and the ship behaves above water!

I found the steering and aiming to be a bit tricky, have you considered using the mouse to control the direction of the submarine?

Nonetheless, a really great and well executed game!

Deep Sleep Explorer by Raivk 2021-04-28T08:40:28Z

A really nice entry, very atmospheric! I like how you really went with a certain feel, and then pulled through with both the audio and the visuals.

I would've liked the levels to last a bit longer, so you could better figure out how the task works, instead of having to start over.

But irregardless of that, I really enjoyed playing it! :D

Into The Mind by CsOmega 2021-04-27T09:41:44Z

It looks and sounds really beautiful, but I it crashed pretty quickly once I tried to eat something ...

Ariel Cleanomancer and the Eldritch Sweep by alyd asmar 2021-04-27T07:38:22Z

Wonderful entry, with a great artstyle and music!

Graphite Journey by pnkvrt 2021-04-27T08:21:30Z

Really great art and graphics! I found the music a bit too upbeat, I think that something a bit more eerie and ambient would've suited the game and especially the threating messages in the second level a lot better.

Also, I think your game would have really profited if the camera was not as close to the player. At the moment, I could never really have a look at the fruit or the whole surroundings, because I was walking around so fast

Nonetheless, a really beautiful entry, thank you!

Deeply Dazed by HangerGames 2021-04-27T11:34:20Z

Wonderful game, very well executed! Nice and fitting sound effects, as well as a really polished artstyle

I also think that a tutorial or sandbox-level would really help to get a feel for the effect of the different parameters and their respective values.

Also, I think some very lush and atmospheric ambient music would have suited your game really well.

But these are only small suggestions, you made an amazing entry, congrats! :sparkles:

Rocket digger by Kaito 2021-04-27T07:59:11Z

Very addicting game! Fun mechanic, but I wouldve loved to have a bit more variation with the things you encounter underground.

Nonetheless a great entry!

The Frozen Depths by Chromaful 2021-04-27T07:18:41Z

Great idea and nice execution! I loved how the difficulty increased "naturally", that is if I became greedy and collected too many crystals, I started to get stuck

I would've loved a small indicator to show in which direction the base is, once I started going a bit faster, I lost all sense of direction.

Nonetheless a cool and engaging entry!

LD49 — Unstable

Fire Risk by Soul Grinder 2021-10-18T09:33:30Z

329'000! :fire: :fire:

Very nice game! Thanks to the simple controls and game objectives it was immediately clear what needed to be done and what the difficulties were going to be.

I found the later game stages, where the level got darker and darker, a bit too difficult, maybe some sort of illumination around the fire orbs would have helped me

I feel like it could also be a cool adjustment to have the level scroll down slower with more "puzzly" ways to obtain the orbs, so that it gets less frantic and more of a puzzle game.

Nonetheless, very cool entry!

Power Horse by Electric Bonfire 2021-10-18T09:42:26Z

Very interesting idea and nice execution!

I found the connection between "heat", "steam" and the actions a bit unintuitive, maybe there is a better way to visually show how these statuses and actions influence each other. πŸ€”

And was this Beethoven in the background? πŸ˜… :notes:
