Extra points for the roblox death sound
Great Concept behind the game! But it's really hard, especially to find the right colors. I think it would have been a nice feature the have an increasing difficulty level by adding more and more colors, so the player can get used to the position of the colors on the keyboard.
When clicking on the "W" the character does not jump, it is better to play on the ARROWS
Oh my god, ugh, my brain xD I suppose once you memorize the color positions, it becomes pretty easy, but when you first start it's definitely pretty jarring.
My suggestion would be 1) make the color-changing work in some other way than 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 (contextual wheels, pressing one button to shift through them...). 2) make the wall-chasing-you a feature of only certain parts of the game, and let the player jump and color change without time pressure otherwise (e.g. for the boss end-of-level part). 3) add something, e.g. coins or the like, to collect from the platforms. We all love numbers going up!
But a very nice effort nonetheless! I struggled a bit to find the use of the theme though, but oh well!
I think you should've made it easier :) Sometimes I get a platform where the color apparently is not what it seems to be.
Has a lot of potential, grat idea. I had problems with guessing the colors of the platforms tho:/
Nice game but WASD movement did not work you can use the arrows only.
Not bad to first game jam!but I don't like shake when I change color,
Really cool concept for a first game jam, congratulations!
LOL is a pretty funny game. Thanks for the sound of death and special thanks for the options) And you need to get used to the game, because there are seven buttons. I didn’t go far, but I had a good time.
The idea is cool, but it's really hard at first and the wall of death goes forward very very fast. It is also a little bit difficult to guess some of the colours (I first thought that the red was pink and kept falling), and if you keep the concept to develop it beyond the jam, you may have to adapt it for color blindness. Overall it works well and the jumping movement is pleasant, which is important for a platform game. Well done! :)
My brain hurt a little while playing :D I am so bad at this game :D Its much better than my first gamejam game though :D good job

Idea is good but some colors so similar and it makes hard to play the game.
First thought was that the running animation is ultra nice. I really like that he looks like he's running full speed. It's a shame that we don't have a longer platform to just run along in order to enjoy the animation. I just had a look at it at the first platform but during the game I was to occupied with other stuff.
I feel like max 4 colours would have been way better.
But I really like the core idea of the game. Worth exploring further.
And I like the options in the main menu :D
An interesting idea and good animation! But it’s inconvenient to switch colors
This was an interesting idea and I enjoyed the art/animations. I wish there were less colors to switch between to make the game simpler.
Simple and smooth
Having to keep track of all the different keys and corresponding colors is an interesting challenge. I found it too hard and couldn't get very far.
Loved it. Was so much fun to play. Good job :)
Nice entry! I enjoyed playing and got to a score of 10667 . I noticed that the displayed high score was not my overall high score, but just my score + 534.
The music made a bit nervous, but after a while I was listening more to the slow melody than the frantic rhythm. I noticed that I frequently changed color on the rhythm of that slow melody, so I thought that maybe in a next version of the game it could be nice if the player generates the melody by letting each color that you switch to (or land on) correspond to a note?
At first, I had a hard time matching the color of the platforms with the example colors on top of the screen, because they are not the same! As many people mentioned, it was quite hard to manage 7 colors with one hand. It is interesting how hard the game is in the beginning, but that quite soon I got used to what number represents to what color, but then I still needed to find the right key! At first I had to look at my fingers a lot, but after a while I developed a strategy: leaving my little pinky finger on the 1, and only move my index finger around for 4,5,6,7.
I found it quite funny that there is a pause button, but with my fingers so busy, I really can't grab the mouse to click that! (But actually, I never wanted to pause! )
At some point I got so high that the background ended.
It felt a bit mean to let the left wall always immediately catch up with me all the time, I couldn't escape it! But I guess that was the purpose. It could have been position a little bit more to the left though.
I found that the screen shake was a bit much for every color switch.
The rainbow and clock were a nice touch, but it would have been nice to have some visual feedback of when time was almost up, maybe by blinking? So I ended up ignoring these special items, because I couldn't trust them, and there was not really a way to really get ahead of the left wall.
I found the game over sound effect quite funny, it sounds like a frustrated sigh I could make when I fail yet again. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Overall, nice job!
Aha...had me in the first half, ngl Capture46.JPG
Man, 7 colours are so difficult to press in a quick pace lol. I can't really even balance 4 colours. You think I'm a multi-tasking-BEAST! :hushed:
