Holy shit this was amazing! Really clever levels and so much content and polish! Great everything!

mrscythe 2020-10-06 14:09

Awesome concept! The way you can switch direction with the switches was nicely done. Movement feels very smooth. Love the style!

vsi 2020-10-06 14:10

nice games bro, liked ur graphs

tefatika 2020-10-06 14:12

Amazing game, three days?!

ded 2020-10-06 14:19

nicely polished game, but it has a few very annoying things - in level 3 the gap with spikes is very hard to jump over and you have to make two times to complete the level (I wanted to quit the game because of it), imho best to remove the jump completely, the level will work the same without it. Second thing is that some columns works as walls and some don't - very confusing (big problem for me again in the level 3 near the levers where you have to jump up through the column)....

akromaly 2020-10-06 14:32

This is a really polished game, I liked the physics and the color palettes, Although it looks like a classic dungeon exploration game, I loved the looped twist, the first time it gave me a big "wow".

animaster 2020-10-06 14:36

Game looks and plays cool, music is nice. Sound FX a bit too loud, and jump annoys a little. Agreed with comment about jump, at least add such jumps at the start of the level, so you don't need to repeat a long way each time you fail. Great job on other aspects, very neat game!

mors 2020-10-06 14:55

Thanks for the comments guys.

@ded @animaster That jump is actually very easy to do if you jump at near the edge of the platform, but I suppose I can see how it might seem hard to some people who haven't gotten used to the physics. I'd wanna change it but I guess it's a bit too late for that, oh well.

And for the columns, I mean, one of them is a darker gray, one of them is white. I think it's pretty clear what is a background element and what is not lol

ded 2020-10-06 15:10

@mors the problem with columns was probably a bug, as I saw all of them white... tried the game again and it was ok  also the slimes were blue, now they are red... (I had WebGL blocked before - maybe that could be the problem?)

but the jump is still annoying ;P

**Fun game**

I loved the graphics and music

The bouncer did not work properly = (

**Nice job**

mr-developer 2020-10-06 15:28

One of the best games I found there! Great job, I really like visuals, controls and sounds). Sadly it is underrated, I recommend you to play others games to regret more plays!

elemental-zeal-game-studios 2020-10-06 15:43

Really neat idea and solidly made. I liked the flow of going through the levels a few times to complete them. Nice job. :)

roboshamit 2020-10-06 16:07

This was super awesome! The looping level design is a huge wow factor. Best of luck!

geryon-games 2020-10-06 16:47

Awesome game! The art is amazing and it's well polished. The looping level is an interesting take on the theme. Great submission!

adorikill 2020-10-06 18:36

Very nice level design, and great music ! well done !

2020-10-06 19:04

Maze of Galious called and wants his modified player sprite back.

feraligatr 2020-10-06 19:13

Graphics, Style and Audio fit really well together. Concept well thought, interpretation made clearly. Slight downside is the keybindings which are unusal, but ok once you get it :)

ms-annotation-x 2020-10-06 19:25

Very good, well polished, and so challenging game! Here is my feedback:

- I liked the main menu. - Player movements and jumping are too smooth! - I liked the visuals. - I liked the music and the SFX. - I liked the player feedback. - I liked the mechanics and the gameplay of the game.

---

- The number that is showing up after being alive. It's mysterious. If it is for showing me how many times died, write that.

----

- If the enemies interact with each other, it will be a nice thing. - While the game is only controllable with the keyboard, I suggest to hide the cursor.

fedora 2020-10-06 19:53

Really cool, I like how each level adds something to the mix.

shanzhai 2020-10-06 23:23

great idea and execution, making the level loop is... well, now that ive seen it it seems like an obvious thing to do when thinking of this jams theme, yet id have never thought of it myself. genius. that aside, i _love_ music, sounds and art style. actually, this might be the best game ive played so far this jam (the now second best one was also made in gms... maybe i should look into that thing). ill definitely try out your other games and keep an eye out for you at ld48. keep it coming, guys!

jon-nova 2020-10-06 23:38

Realy well made game and the music is really good.

pichuscute0 2020-10-07 08:04

Nothing too out there to make the level loop like this, but this is easily the best iteration of that idea I've seen so far. There's a ton of content here and it's all really well done. The graphics and sound are all pretty much perfect as far as I'm concerned and the gameplay feels fantastic to control. I especially love how the sword swing stops you a bit when you're in the air.

croxel-studios 2020-10-07 11:02

Incredibly well made game for a 72h gamejam! I was impressed with the level design and amount of content this entry has. The idea is really well executed too.

Definitely one of best etries I've tried so far!

guillem-serra 2020-10-07 17:51

Fantastic palette, it catched my attention from the first moment I saw. Good game, great job!

purrseus 2020-10-07 18:49

Awesome game that just feels right in every regard. The retro graphics are super nice, sound effects are neat, the music is a total hit and the gameplay loop is sooooooooooo satisfying! I looooove it!

flatkiwi 2020-10-07 22:48

Excellent work! This game feels awesome to play and the level design is lovely. awesome

thanielpin 2020-10-07 23:51

It was an amazing game! Are you planning on releasing the music anywhere?

dustyroom 2020-10-08 10:13

Nice game. At first it was a bit inconvenient to not being able attack while moving. But that's intentionally done, I guess.

rosypenguin 2020-10-08 17:33

Fantastic level design and game polish. I found there was a pit of spikes in one of the early levels that was frustrating to jump over, as you have to have just the right momentum and be standing right at the edge to pull it off. Otherwise everything felt really smooth. Nicely done!

catonator 2020-10-09 17:17

@thanielpin I uploaded the project files (.xm format) over on my website, here: https://catonator.net/trackers/

I wasn't planning to upload the music anywhere else for the time being.

jlv 2020-10-09 20:44

Excellent entry ! As other reviewers have mentioned, the focus, the polish and the scope are perfect. The controls are slick, and the game looks and sounds awesome.

Strengths : - Great audio, great graphics - Awesome, polished controls - The level design and take on the theme are fantastic

Possible improvements : - Reduce down time when dying or opening a door

gentoogames 2020-10-10 22:53

Reminds me of the old Bowser's Castle levels that looped indefinitely! Really nice submission, with the classic retro aesthetic

le-don 2020-10-20 10:33

Great game, one of my favorites! I just feel like some elements like the pushable boxes and the trampolines didn't add much to the theme and I also had some trouble with the trampolines - maybe the timing window of those could be a little more forgiving.

fatal-exit 2020-10-21 20:03

Awesome game, only problem I had was I found the keyboard controls a little fiddly, would have tried with a gamepad, but haven't currently got one on my pc.

justcamh 2020-10-23 14:26
