Nice game! Managed to get 12/26 achievemnts in about half an hour. I was dissapointed that it doesnt accept all words. Despite that, trying to get the achievements was pretty fun! Adding a bit of audio/bgm would have set the mood really well considering how nice and cozy the visuals look. Also, minor bug - clicking on the tiles make it always show a "Q" tile for a moment.
Have you considered showing the word a player got was valid, but just doesn't do something? Better still, add to a words-found count? I too made a word/letter game for this jam and having a counter made "failures" aka words that don't do anything feel more like progress!
This was so cool! The humour and style reminded me somewhat of The Stanley Parable (one of my faves)! The mechanic, writing and aesthetic is super cool! Honestly the best game I've played so far this jam!

@bubble-boy Thanks!
@rubyleehs Thanks for the detailed feedback! We actually have a dictionary under the hood + scrabble-style point tracking (working as you described), but we cut it out because it felt like it added unnecessary complexity and cluttered the UI. You can see the remnants of it at the bottom of the help menu. I did like the scrabble point tally, so maybe we could bring that back .
Holy moly. My absolute favorite so far. I thought the same as @bubble-boy with the Stanley Parable vibes. Super stylish, innovative and fun. Wonderful game!
Also typing 'git' at the beginning was a pleasant surprise :D

Interesting idea! I liked the interaction with the narrator. I managed to get all achievements but D, G, O, P, and U.
There was not one, but two balls held in my honor. i really did a great job defeating those gonads. haha, great game, and marvelous humor.

@mao whoa, that's so awesome that you got so many of the achievements! If you want some hints, D and O require an egg, G means you to like cats, U is on the "hi" branch, and you can find P if you ask for some hints! :cat:
@blobo OMG YES I'M SO GLAD SOMEONE FOUND THAT ONE.

@trifectuh we're so glad you liked the game! we're both pretty big fans of yours, btw!
Really good ! had me scratching my heads for new words  wonderful take on the theme.

This is so cute! Sometimes I wished there were more words it responds to, but it seems like there's already a lot to discover here, and it makes sense you couldn't cover every possibility in the time span of a game jam. I only played for a bit but I think I'll come back to this!

HOLY WOW. I saw a yes / no question, and thought I would break the game by typing money, but nope! Freakin awesome job with that, blew me away and made the story feel dynamic! OMFG the paths are amazing. This is an easy five stars on humour, it's damn amazing. Most of the things I tried gave some output, which is crazy. I spent an hour looking around to find everything, and I think I got most of it, tacos, mayo, voldemort and all. So happy I got to play this, I could only hope for it to be expanded further!

This is soooo COOL! The style of the game is really neat! The game rewards the player for being creative with a funny response and that is just awesome!
The main adventurer is quite the alcoholic :joy:

This isn't the first interactive fiction game I played this LD, but it's definitely the best!
The possibilities you thought of sometimes surprised me quite a bit, and the narrator made me laugh. Thanks for that.
Love that you let me start with gin :) My drunken adventure was really funny and gave me a good mood, thanks for that. I needed to visit the Bahamas and rap all over the place today.
Even if is simple in some ways, it's pretty creative and it feels like every part was carrefully made. The narrative is really cool, and I also like the style. The texture in the background gives it an interesting look.
One of my favourites so far! I would love to see more of your games. Good job!

This whole game is really amazing! I love it so much :) I love choose your own adventure type games, and ive already played another typing game that was similar :D Really fun, and the writing was well done.
The polish was really well done, and I like the smoothness of everything on screen. The letter animations and typing response and everything was perfect!
Good job overall

This is a super original and very amusing game! It was always fun to try a random word and have it work.

Oh man, really took me some time to get some achiements XD Really lovely idea. Only had the feeling the stories ended to soon and you start all over every time. Would be great if the text entries build a more on one another but I understand that would be difficult. Some music would be cool to. But nevertheless really neat game.

Really well executed! I had a great time playing it :) Playing with anagrams is a really cool concept(actually my game is also based on something similiar ;D), intruguing story, good humor. Overall: perfect entry!
My favourite until now. Some sound (even if it's only some samples that are played when typing) or music would make this perfect!

It's amazing how much content you managed to cram into this game! And how much cleverness! Reading through the comments I can see that nearly everyone who thought of a "Ha, they couldn't have expected THAT!" comes out of it pleasently surprised :D
It's really outstanding, the presentation is super slick, too. Easily 5 Stars, I call winning or at least top scoring potential!

This was a lot of fun. Loved the options and humor. Currently only found 10 things.

@drcheetos thanks so much! lemme know if you need any hints
@sylvie totally agree with more words! We wrote the storyline with the help of scrabble world solvers, and it's crazy how we still find words we didn't catch! Are there any specific examples you had in mind? I'll probably be updating the storyline post-jam!
@justcamh we're so honored you loved the game enough to spend so much time on it! we had a lot of fun trying to get the storyline to make sense with all the different possibilities...it was a bit like a written improv game from our end haha. And I'm so glad someone found Voldemort!! That was one of my favs :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
@rroni so glad you enjoyed it!
@apace aww, so glad you enjoyed it! thanks so much for playing and commenting! We were having a lot of fun with the narrator; I'm glad you liked him too haha
@yomissmar thanks so much! also I just played your game and loved it! I tend to make silly games (like this one haha), so the depth you guys managed to convey was super impressive to me :)
@rose thanks! we used a Scrabble word finder to try to catch most of the common words, so I'm glad it worked!
@sarah thank you! @fre spent a long time trying to get that smooth scrolling working, so it makes us so happy that you noticed it!
@kirroyal totally agree! if it helps, pressing backspace/delete lets you go back to the previous juncture without starting over from nothing, so you can explore routes more easily. Unfortunately since there are so many words for a given set of letters, longer storylines get exponential pretty quickly, but I'd definitely love to add a bit more content in the future!
@palemek ooooh, adding your game to my to-play list! thanks so much!
@cataractar good point! I'm actually a musician, so I'm super ashamed to have not thought of it before the deadline haha. If we take it further, we'll definitely add music and sfx into the mix!
@purrseus oh man, you're making us blush! thanks a million...also The Toad King is fantastic as well! I have literally started laughing randomly a couple times just from *thinking* about the king's voice :frog:
@dk5000p thank you! 10 achievements? that's awesome! lemme know if you want hints for any of the letters!
Awesome, this was very impressive! The controls were very intuitive and the flow felt good, keep going!
Really loved this game, it's very original. I wish most of the story paths went longer, but that's how LD games tend to go. Honestly, it's hard to say anything negative about this game other than wanting more content. Would be great to see this developed into a full fledged game.

I love this game! It's a great concept, with a great UI (so helpful to be able to shuffle! and undoing a step was so smooth!) and really amusing writing. It was a great feeling to try a word and be rewarded with something interesting and funny. The achievements are a great addition - I love that you have one for each letter.
I haven't played a game like this before and I like how it gets started and how it branches off. If you get a chance to add a narrator with some music it will help with and make it more engaging. :D
damn this is good... Have to brush up my vocabulary game to get all the achievements, but it was incredibly interestintg and a super interesting way to limit possibilities in an interactive fiction while also keeping the freedom and possibility of trying to get "out of bounds". Very nice job!
Great concept! Loved the writting and had a good laugh. Also the hints were a good way for me to experience everything in the game thanks.
I'd love some kind of extended tips for every achievement! I spent close to an hour here, and gave up after reaching my limit in english vocabulary hahah
This is really great.
I just love this game, rated it 5/5 as it's a great and fun concept that kept me exploring all the possibilities for a while. Amazing!
wow loved this so much!

I had a good time with this, hope you can continue this work, there is a lot of potential in this mechanics ... btw it would be very cool perhaps with a narrator
