The drawing aesthetic was really nice to look at! I had a bit of a hard time with the controls, but i probably just need to get good.

@lifeinacemetery Thanks!
Same as @lifeinacemetery, I love the look of the world and exploring, there are some parts that are kinda hard, especially the part with the enemy on the slope right after getting "stomp"
If you make more, I would love to know!
Yeah the controls are really the only down side, pretty fun once you get used to it!
Thanks @mort-jack , @lanz611 ! I wish I had more time to polish it and make a better designed level, but I'm glad you liked it!
nice style, but the controller are way too sticky, too bad :/
It's got a really cool art style, but the hitbox not lining up well with the characters makes it kinda tricky to play. Some of the obstacles were surprisingly tough to get past with some tight spacing on some jumps, and it was a little clunky. Some sound effects would've gone a long way, but overall an enjoyable romp
Hey! What a symphatic platformer! The animations and art design is very cool, and fun to see games that have different graphics! The hitboxes could be better, but I've also been there with making hitboxes :D But it was sort of managable! The movement could've been a bit better, but I wasn't so bothered about it. Just made it more tricky :) But overall a cool game! Had fun playing it :)
Despite what your profile description says, I think the art was the strong point of this game. Liked the hand-drawn style A LOT, and the way the level appears and disappears in front of you is really cool! My main point of complaint is the collisions and physics; I wonder why didn't you just use a circular collider, matched with the sprite of the dot? The dash and "ground pound" abilities were nice, but a bit unprecise too. Some enemy placements were also a bit tricky, but that could just be my skill level.
Anyway, despite the criticism, I still consider this game as one of the better ones of the jam so far, and you can be proud of yourself! Really good job!
Thanks!
I did use a circle collider, @justmars , the issue with the colliders a lot of people are having is probably because I used an uneven texture (varying pressure) for the ground, and an edge collider with a radius. I should have probably used a polygon collider or a flat texture instead, but I wanted it to be varied, and it was the fastest way with sprite shapes. The physics and controls are unfortunate, but I only managed to get in around 18 hours over the weekend and I spent a lot of that trying to do the art. The level design could have used a lot of work too, I only managed to get everything working together and make the level a few hours before the jam ended
Oh yes, now I see, it was the level's collisions, not the player's. Thanks for clearing that up! I understand that those roundish parts are hard to get right, especially within only few hours of time :)
I like your art style! I like the effect that the platform come out. That is really cool! But sometime the effect takes too long time(especially at the first enemy) that I have to wait for it to see the enemy clearly. But it is a really good game. Like it!
Aesthetic of the game is beautiful! I like it when games embrace more artistic or hand-drawn graphics. We need more games like this! Also, the animations are done in a simple way, yet they are lovely and add quality to the game. Game design is interesting but controls feel a bit awkward and I couldn't pass the red enemy on the uphill :( Great job tho! Art of the game is one of the best I've seen and I'd love to see more of it!
This game is truly beautiful and has a lot of potential!
Right now, it feels a lot like a demo, because you introduce all those mechanics, but not a single one has a real moment to shine. Which is totally reasonable because it's Ludum Dare, but it all works so well, that you leave us players with a real craving for more!
@virimine, @purrseus Thanks! Yeah, time was a big limiting factor, and I didn't have the time to polish the level or mechanics, but I'm happy with the art. Thank you for playing!
Neat hand-drawn style. I liked that the dot could jump through most of the platforms from below. Notes: - The prompt for the dash ability is placed near the tree that the player is not required to visit. - "Hacky" movements: I've started with wall-jumping (holding A/D near the wall and jumping continuously allows to scale any wall), and then discovered that the player can jump mid-air as many times as they want, so the game can be played in a "Flappy Bird" mode. - Starting after the death requires "space" to be pressed, this slows down the player and amplifies the weight of the failure.
I like the design of the game :smile: Yet I felt quite annoyed quite fast, since controls are unresponsive.. I guess if you fixed them, the game would be much better :wink:
@aurthem Thanks for the feedback!
Can you tell me more about when you can jump again in midair?
@hadi-danial, I've tried to reproduce that midair jump bug, and it's not that easy. It's probably connected to dashing through the platforms. Here's a short video: https://youtu.be/UoFHn7Hdv7A
@aurthem Interesting. I'll look into it when I have time. Thank you!
Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on my livestream!
