@gruni I'm really sorry, I had some technical issues while uploading the file (: It should be fixed now. Hope you enjoy the game! (Thanks for pointing this out)
@Game-mon sorry, https://thomas-bringer.itch.io/chickenarchy still leads me to the same page. Maybe it's not published? Privacy settings?
@gruni I just forgot to make it public x) I feel so dumb haha (1rst time using itch.io) Should be fixed now. There is still a screen size problem that I'm trying to fix though
@gruni Okay, I think I (kinda) fixed the screen size issue. Thank you for your patience, it's super nice of you :D (and sorry for being such a noob :P) I'll make sure to play your game
Finally I get the chance to become the chicken king! The camera movement is... different. But searching all the eggs was fun. The most annoying part however is if you're running around in a crowd of chicken (around 40), a single touch activates dialogues. And it gets tricky to move around people. Pressing a button or something like that to only activate a dialogue when you want would improve that. But: It's one hell of a ride. It felt like a revolution going on with an army of chicken running around. I would love to see part two - with gamepad controls and more content! All hail the chicken king!Screenshot 2019-04-29 at 11.21.58.png
One glitch I found: You can just drag the camera around and chicken at the border of the screen will just be forcepushed into your direction. Makes navigating around pretty much pointless.
Re: Size issues - I just zoomed my browser window. Worked for me.
@gruni Thank you for your review :D I agree with every issue you noticed, and I'm glad you still liked the game (:
Ridiculously adorable game. Controls were a bit weird but I got used to them quickly.
Loved it, but the farmer killed all my chickens! (I had exactly 14) Didn't even get a game over or anything, game just stayed there.
@geeitsomelaldy Thanks for playing! I'll try to fix the glitch about the farmer (:
Edit: The glitch doesn't happen to me, so I just don't know how to fix it. I guess jam games are meant to be a bit buggy (:

What a lovely day! What a lovely kingdom! Looks like..... <48 chickens just ramble over the poor farmer while searching for more eggs...>
I had a lot of fun finding the eggs. Feels like Easter Egg hunt. I frequently got stuck in dialogs and could not finish a single request. First I feared that I would lose my chicken when they get stuck somewhere but I found I could just draw the screen and handle it that way.
Game is soo dope. I love art style and music (but I tried to play it with rammstein and it's good too haha). I enjoy relaxing style of gameplay and looking for the eggs. I even found a black... something! CaptureChicken.PNG Reason of that is the camera drag movement. Anyway, brilliant work!
That was fun! Unfortunately, after some time I couldn't find anymore eggs and it got frustrating, I'm pretty sure I checked the entire map, but there were still 4 more eggs required by the king. The atmosphere is light and great, I love the humor, especially the line about people loving chicken so much <3 The bug with camera is quite bad, the placement of items you carry is somewhat weird. Other than that, awesome game!
I love the presentation of this game! Graphics, theme, music and mood are perfect.
Controlling the chicken via moving the camera is an interesting choice. Sadly, I could just force chicken to go wherever I want and the game pretty much turned into an Adventure without fun in moving. Is that intended?
Loved it. the music, the graphics and the gameplay blend together perfectly, to create a beautiful and cute adventure. great job.

Okay, I'm aware there are some important issues about the game. I first added colliders around the camera to prevent chickens from going offscreen, but didn't realize it raised another problem (that @borys used to go outside the map). There is definitely a problem with the whole movement in the game, but I'm not going to update it because it would be a new feature and is against the rules of Ludum Dare. Also I thought that beginning dialog when entering a trigger would make things much easier, but once again, didn't realize it would be a pain to play. (A simple point-and-click system would probably solve these two problems. If I ever want to expand the project, I think it could be a mobile version with this system.)
So yeah, sorry for these glitches - but please keep in mind I'm still a beginner: it's just my 2nd Ludum Dare, and I struggled to manage my time, the project was a bit too ambitious perhaps.
Hope you still enjoy the overall atmosphere, and thanks for this helpful feedbak <3
Haha, I love this game. The idea reminds me of Okhlos. Good job
Got stuck in dialog and couldn't find any required items. Besides that it was fun to march around with 50 chickens. ^^
i like that music track xD some anoying chicken sounds would be funny to had ingame x) Overall a funny puzzle game, good job!
Such a weird little world, I love it!
@kristinnes Never played Okhlos actually (: I got some inspiration from Crowd City and Zombie Tsunami to be honest
Edit: And for the artstyle, chicken was a bit inspired by Crossy Road
fun game, love the soundtrack. Think there should be a button to interact with the npcs as I kept accidently triggering their dialog. cool idea and fits the theme really well and in a humorous way
amusing to gather the chickens and look for the story on the map! sometimes with too much chicken the dialog is repeating a bit too much :)
I was more hyped about finding the sword than in a zelda game. Also moving physic elements around the map as far ass I could take them.
Oh dang, i love this!
This is great - don't be disheartened by the bugs, for just your second Dare this was a great little game with charming art and sound, and a really easy to understand concept!
Aww this is cute. I really like how the NPCs also dance to the MIDI tune. I don't think you need to apologize for the bugs regarding movement and camera, if anything dragging the chickens through the trees was hilarious and made things even more fun.
Some usability issues aside, definitely one of my favourites so far. Fun pretty pixels graphics too.
The concept is interesting and fits the theme better than most submissions this jam. music is catch. graphics are adorable. The follow the mouse pointer movement is interesting but I would've preferred a click to move type. Having the drag the view around was just tedious. If you work on this after judging, I'd recommend replacing the controls. In the meantime, I suggest you center the game view on the page, having it all the way to the left was a little wierd.
The music and art is good, i couldn't leave the dialog
Cutest game I have played so far! Nice job, I had a super fun time creating my chicken army!
Little troubles with the dialogs but I really like the movement idea as well as how cute this is! Awesome job, had a blast!
Thanks everyone, your feedback is amazing! :D Added a small "known issues" section on the page.
@krammetje @fidrik @chrisdugne @zlabya @jin9310 Sorry for the problem with dialogs... :( (see "known issues")
@nico-fallosch @purrseus @palsina @grllle @fatcrow Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the game! (:
@ave @jjjjason @gimblll This is super kind, thanks a lot! :D
@shaolin-dave Actually, I don't know how to center the game on the page - I just gave itch.io a 256*256 game, an it was put on the left. Besides, I definitely agree with the problem you mentionned (see "known issues"). Quoting myself a few comments above:

Even with the issues...super fun!! I can't help but love cute/abstract! :D Chickens running the world...great, GREAT concept! Keep it up!
Amazing! Best game yet.
In the beginning I was quiet amused by your game, just beacuse it included a lot of chickens and my first thoughts were "Chickens! Many chickens! Thats cute" After I started the game, I was confused 'cause I didn't know what to do.. so I ran around and collected those eggs. Well, after a little time i understood the concept of this game. A tutorial would have been helpful. Also there is no possibility I saw, to play the game on fullscreen, so it was queit annoying to play it in a small window.
I like the idea that the chickens follow your mousecontroll and that you have to scroll trouhgh the map... But it is not well thought through because you can easily scroll all your chickens out of map. In this case you can take them over the water or trough the forest and i do not think thats a part of the game.
Some positive things: I like the graphics and the whole artdesign of the charakters. The idea is really good and funny and I would like to see more from it.
Fun little game~ but I think I lost all my chickens when I panned the screen at one point. It still said I had 59 chickens despite not seeing all of them on screen at least. Finding all the NPCs in order is quite hard~

This is actually a fun game! I've gritted my teeth in determination as I decided to get the sword for the king if my life depended on it and almost done it. Having difficulty finding anyone who'd enjoy the wine and roaming the land with a cohort of 40+ chickens, suddenly I found myself (one of the chickens) teleported to that NPC. Maybe the game took pity :D Unfortunately, in the next step the knight tricked me and just killed all my chickens! Come to think of it, the game reminded me of Dizzy games I played few decades ago.
The game is minimalist, but quite enjoyable. Shopping list for the next release: - auto camera follow - few more bars of music, perhaps with an instrument or two in the background - hatching sound - player to initiate action (proximity triggered dialogues get player stuck)
What's great: - big world. Surprisingly big. - the characters make it look like there is a lot of content. - good the chickens find way (ignore collisions) when they are outside the view.
Wow! Great game! The mechanic that the player needs to move the window to push the chickens is amazing! It's simply but clever! Find eggs, push chickens and do quests! Also the world is big and the characters are awesome! One thing that for me is annoying, irritating and frustrating is the dialogs with the characters... very annoying (reminds me the dialogs in Castlevania I xD).

Overall is an awesome game! Congrats!!
I had a ton of fun with it! The first time I played, I immediately went off in a random direction and totally missed the knight at the beginning, so it might be nice if he's on screen as soon as you start. I also had a bit of an issue with the farmer. I had about 40 chickens with me, and he took them all! At that point, I couldn't find enough eggs to build up my chicken stock again, so I wasn't able to complete the whole game. But it's a wonderful concept, with a ton of humor and fun to it. I agree that the dialog is a big of an issue, and I definitely would have liked a clucking sound when hatching a new egg and maybe the music loop to be longer, but it's already pretty great and just needs a little bit of polish. Great job!
The controls are great, except there isn't a way to make the game full screen.
@zoneoutapps @nyandev @gassi-games @lexyvil @quantumzen @peterfonts @acearcher @franciszek-pyrc Thank you so much! Your feedback is super helpful :D it will definitely change some design choices of mine for upcoming projects. Thanks to @quantumzen for summing up everything nicely, and to everyone who spend some time leaving their thoughts on the game <3 (And once again I apologize for the various issues.)
