Strange Zoo by khaotom 2023-05-04T02:54:36Z

really felt some yume nikki vibes from the art and music. so many delightfully strange creatures to peruse in this zoo ^^

i got really frustrated with both the keyboard and mouse controls though. it's really difficult to change directions and then i end up slamming into every wall. granted im not the most dextrous guy around... if that were improved, i think it would be easier to enjoy the atmosphere and narrative.

Messenger Boy by alec 2023-05-04T02:22:04Z

oh no... was there a way to not deliver the letter to the professor?? oops, my condolences to the greater good of humanity 囧

i liked the writing sooo much haha, really wasn't expecting to see the messenger boy's internal dialogue but it gave the story so much depth i think. the map design and tileset were also great. each time i climbed up and down the mountain, i couldn't help but to wonder if it was even the same route. got stuck in so many places, especially when running!

good job :D i can't believe you made this all by yourself!

Mouth Feel by ColeSlaughter 2023-05-04T04:28:28Z

BWAHAHAHA whoever came up with this idea is an absolute madlad, i love it! the speech mechanism is pretty well designed and fun on its own, but you guys came up with the perfect context for it to turn into a complete and satisfying game. the care put into the cinematography helped make it feel very earnest, the cheesiness wasn't forced or excessive at all.

the voiceacting is great too. there aren't too many voiced cutscenes in game jams, so this was very refreshing and engaging. good job everyone :D im amazed what you guys accomplished for such a small team!

Too Hot to Hendl by Fis 2023-05-04T02:13:35Z

what a handsome rooster! it ain't much, but it's honest work

game feels very cohesive and complete. i'm amazed you were able to make it in such a short amount of time :D good job!

MailBeats ✉️🎶 by Adam Gaskins 2023-05-04T05:11:03Z

hahaha i love the track titles, chill mailman beats for sure. i want to go where no mailtruck has gone before...

the pixel art is good and the gameplay is solid! rhythm games are tricky to nail but i think you did a good job. i would love to see some harder levels, there's a lot of potential here for alternating rhythms (think taiko no tatsujin style). wish that there was some in game text explaining how to hit the cones since it's not very intuitive that you're supposed to press up.

The Pigeon Post Principle by cassowary 2023-05-03T23:57:01Z

the art is too cute >< such a warm and cozy color palette and style! i think the visual and sound design turned out wonderfully cohesive with the game feel and tempo.

level designs are tough but satisfying to solve! i am stuck on level 13 agh ;_;

Verses & Vibes by Madbarron 2023-05-08T21:05:35Z

loved this one so much holy moly, my favorite interpretation of the delivery theme. simple idea that rounded out into a fantastic game. good choice of poems and clean interface. more fun than i could have ever imagined! everyone's deliveries were top notch too :D

i do think that the line between curious, playful, and whimsical is a bit blurry and those were the vibes i definitely mixed up the most often when listening to other people's recordings. i also wish that i could redo some of my first recordings... ;_;

i hope that you'll add more levels ^^

Not a Bot! by Jeremy Ho 2023-05-05T08:11:10Z

thank you everyone for playing, and for all the kind words!!! (;3;)/

@luriq that's exactly the vibe, thanks for noticing! definitely was inspired from past experiences downloading sketchy illegitimate programs online as a kid, e.g. trying to get a free copy of photoshop or a chatbot that supposedly would do your homework. fortunately there are no viruses here, but i still think all the desktop clutter and popups are rather nostalgic haha

@ruddgasm the secret is... we couldn't figure out how to import 3d models for the animations in time, so we just had to import every frame (out of hundreds, each rendered at exorbitantly high resolution) manually as sprites. that final delivery scene takes 10 minutes to build each time... :'3 alas, we ran out of time and couldn't fit in more of the features that we had planned. hoping to work on it more post-jam. thanks for the thoughtful comments! wish you could've got to hear the music too!

@amango visit buy-a-guy.com today and get your guy, dare you try?

also im glad to hear that our game was actually kinda fun for people who don't usually enjoy the clicker genre. w00t!

Papi's Delivery Ops: Cardbark Infiltration by nox282 2023-05-04T01:34:28Z

i would die for papi. love this dog

the game was fun!! sometimes though the mini map wouldnt be entirely accurate and i'd still trigger the guards ;-; i appreciate that you can still try to outspeed them haha

Culling Cards by picross 2023-05-05T07:35:58Z

wowie, the visuals are probably the best i've seen!! i love this sort of mspaintspraycan-esque shading and it's cool how you used the dither effect on whole map itself to adhere all the visuals together. the enemies are really cute too and i enjoyed the unconventional flavor text haha. wonder if there was any inspo from earthbound? ^^ writing wins too! so many great ideas and details here

the booster packs were pretty coool. i enjoyed the decision making that went into each battle that made an otherwise simple turn-based rpg more interesting. though i agree with the other comments that it was just a few rounds too many, not enough complexity yet. but given that you guys had only a limited amount of time to design the cards and battle system, i think that the elements you chose turned out quite balanced. im a fan!

Lost & Found by droo shayne 2023-05-05T07:13:17Z

wowie.. there's so many good things to say about this game, but i just wanted to mention first that the OST for this game is absolutely stellar. my favorite that i've heard so far in this jam. the title screen song in particular was well composed and quite tender. im a huge fan!

the UI elements were creative, i liked the burning candle! the animation, character/map designs, and writing were soooo cute and charming. gameplay wise i could tell that you guys were a little tight on time and couldn't flesh it out entirely, but you still managed to nail the core mechanics and controls. even the abrupt ending was thematic! i would love to see this cleaned up with a few extra quality of life features and more content ^^

Devil's Corp by Neobit 2023-05-04T03:03:46Z

your team really did a wicked job with this game! what the heck?! the guys in charge of the art must've sold their souls to a shinigami to be able to draw all that in just three days 0_0

i liked the interpretation of the theme, too. writing was nice and the intro/ending scenes were well done!

i wish the enemy patterns were a bit more complex/difficult, the difficulty scaling feels kind of slow. also, i'm not sure if i missed the tutorial or something, but it wasn't too clear to me that you could collect those fireballs on the floor or that you could even select a different weapon until i read through the comments.

Purrfect Delivery by Mashiro 2023-05-04T01:56:35Z

holy moly this is some of my favorite art and UI design ever! love the neko kitty details all across the OS. i really dig the humor in the art direction, i wish that all ads in real life were replaced with these ones. ^^

the game itself is a bit tough for me... i wish that the click hitboxes were a bit bigger! D:

Dungeon Delivery Service by Explosives101 2023-05-04T04:57:09Z

aw man.. i'm also getting the same error. i know you said that you're done for now, but i just wanted to let you know that ludum dare allows you to submit bugfixes post-submission. i really hope that you can get it loading at least! c: i'd love to try playing it if you do, the concept sounds cool

Food Service Singularity by Cheesecube 2023-05-04T02:48:39Z

BWAHAHA what the heck, i can't believe the fridge trollface'd me. the character designs are too cute! im absolutely in love with the artstyle and direction :D

like the other commenters mentioned, the controls are a bit finicky and slippery. one button to switch between characters would be great, cos i kept forgetting which one corresponded to which guy.

Astro-Web Deliveries by Ryder the First 2023-05-04T02:36:34Z

controls as smooth as butter, i loved doing loop-de-loops around the planets :3 wish there was a bit more to do though, like shoot/dodge bullets? this kinda space arcade game just begs for more explosions!

took me a while to figure out how to find pickups and drop-offs until i read your comment above ^^;

Election Day by prachi 2023-05-04T04:47:29Z

ohhh i really like the way you executed this concept! the art and writing is very charming, i could really feel the high school-level shade being thrown hahaha. the scoring is interesting... i like that there's a hidden parameter besides the delivery/typing speed that influences if you'll win. cryly absolutely wrecked me even though i typed very fast, but it's ok cus it was fun trying to figure out the right thing to say :'3

the typing mechanism seems to be a bit glitchy, for example i often found myself having to press space twice to get it to submit and sometimes i wouldn't be able to type at all. wanted to let you know that updating your game with bugfixes are permitted in this game jam, so i really think you should take the opportunity to fix that part up since it's a core component! if that were fixed, i think the game would be a lot more fun!
