Amazing music!
Loved the music. Would like health bars on the enemies. Do the upgrades work? They seem to reset to zero after each wave.
@kodingnights yes the upgrades work, they are balanced pretty low since you get so many 'Cropses'
Fun wave survival game! The theme was nice and the graphics were well stylized, loved the evil plants. I did have some trouble playing, it didn't seem to like one of the gamepads I had plugged in or something because the pitchfork kept forcing itself to the bottom-left, but otherwise it was smooth! The one sort of low-hanging addition that might be nice is adding some sort of death animation or sprite, things just disappearing wasn't quite as satisfying as I'd hoped.
The music was really cool and I liked the game setting. I think it would help if we could see some health bars for the enemies, so that we could get an idea of how much damage we're doing since I was lost there.
Did I play it exclusively because of the ripped old dude in the cover art? Yes. Was I disappointed? No.
I love the design of player character and had fun playing this game. However, the lack of audio hits made the attacks feel dry. Otherwise, good one!
Gotta say, the thumbnail is hilarious. It could use more feedback on hitting enemies. Other than that, great work!
Great work, have to be honest, i played due to the thumbnail as well. One issue? that hit my play through was that each round it didn't seem to apply my damage upgrades (or perhaps i misunderstood).. either way - neat game, GREAT thumbnail - good work.
I love survival concept game like this! I think it's better if the player stats are displayed on the screen. Good work!
This game is great! I didn't realize I had to fullscreen it at first so it initially cut off the UI and I had no clue what was changing haha. I love the music, art and ambience and it felt smooth to play overall. I would have loved to see my stats displayed somewhere so I could keep track of how buff I was getting (or a visual indicator of some kind). Really liked the main character, too.
Also Cropses is a fantastic pun :D
Well done on your game. I played through 3 waves and liked the concept and your take on the theme. Bought all damage upgrades that I could, but have to say I didn't notice any difference in combat.
Fun game! I really liked the graphics and the gameplay loop was simple but engaging.<3
Good work on the music! But it's lacking a bit of feedbacks.
Nice music, interesting concept, but quite a drag on the gameplay, how much I did not pump up the damage, it is still difficult to kill the eggplants с: good luck!
Great entry! Really enjoyed the game (the beard while rotating the main camera is fantastic), it would be nice if you could get more feedback when you are hit and when you hit the enemies but other than that it's a good game. Great job getting it done in such a short time :)
That was great! Simple yet engaging. Attack speed felt like the most powerful upgrade by far. Putting like 10-20 levels into it seemed to improve my damage output by _so much_. That combined with the shotgun meant that any enemy would die almost instantly when they entered the screen.
@beardywombat yeah one thing that suffered due to the time restraint was play testing a balancing! Thank you for the feedback!
ngl clicked for the thumbnail :new_moon_with_face: but wish the collision to hit the :eggplant: (:new_moon_with_face:) was more... big :cold_sweat: :sweat_drops: ... because i've seen many shots go through the bottom half of it. Jokes aside, love the music tho!
Definitely a great game if a bit small. I wish there was an auto fire upgrade for the shotgun because my clicking finger hurts now. Also I recommend a visual effect on things when they're hit so it's easier to tell when you're doing damage.
The music was amazing! Great job with that. I got the hang of destroying veggies after a while but I still got stuck and couldn't go forward when it cam time to select new weapons.
@midorimelody sorry to heal that! You may have missed the top pedestal you need to hold shift to go to the next level, hopefully that wasn't broke for you :(
Nice job :eggplant: :knife: :knife:
The music and visuals were fun and I had a blast trying out all the upgrade combinations.
Fun little game! It's a pity I couldn't find a way to choose any weapon option after a few rounds of the game, but overall, it's a nice and simple concept. Liked the graphics!
The gameplay is rather classic but hard to master. The points to give at the end change too little (after the first wave I didn't see a difference despite the improvements chosen). But it's still fun to play.
Mighty giant sickle! Hell, yeah!

(Music was very nice.)
@muhuk amazing  and thank you!!
Fun game! Upgrading your stats and getting better weapons makes for a very satisfying gameplay loop, despite the actual gameplay being so simple. Nice music too, I was playing for quite a while and it didn't feel repetitive at all.
My only criticism would be that holding the attack input isn't supported - that would make the game MUCH more comfortable to play. Oh, and the "farting" enemies made my game lag, especially in later waves :P
Overall, great entry. Congrats!
Wow, really loved the real-instrument music, so well done and had nice rising and falling sections that had a good balance between active sections that rose to the front of my consciousness and quieter sections that receded into the background... just like a good videogame soundtrack should!
Art was nice, and the shadowy edges of the arena meshed well with the spooky vibe of the mutant cropses, and the sprites were all well done.
I enjoyed the action. It could use a little more "juice" in terms of emphasizing when I take a hit or successfully hit an enemy. But the biggest problem I had was the rolling guy who leaves a cloud behind. Fine, except that I HAVE to kill him. So a lot of my time with the game was waiting and waiting and saying "THERE HE IS" but he would already be gone by the time I could get over there. I struggled badly to find a way to force an encounter, and the end of each wave was quite a long time of me just hoping and waiting and guessing, which really broke the otherwise nice pacing.
But other than that, I thought the action was well done. The theme came through nicely with the tough choice between harvesting my cropses to save them for a big upgrade later, versus spending them incrementally on improvements that I REALLLLLY wanted like faster attack speed etc. So I feel like you nailed the tough-choices thing.
Nice entry with a lot of different cool elements!
@pkenney Thank you so much the music was something I wrote like 9 years ago and had to re-learn and record 2am the night before final entry lol. We definitely had the risk versus reward in mind from the beginning so I am glad that came through. Balancing was something we didn't have a lot of time for and the enemy I think that caused frustration was the one without any AI lol. Thank you for the thorough review!
