Stuck at lvl 7.
Right, I noticed the solution to some (previous) levels are simpler than I initially thought. Very nice game.
I would totally buy this with post-jam polish.
Everybody needs lungs all the time. I enjoyed playing.
For future players:
- Don't waste your initial money, buy 1 drill then buy 1 ship. - The real game starts when you leave your 1st system (before supernova). - Left click on your ship, then right click on a planet you are harvesting, then right click on a trader ship.
I think if you remove `Extra Letter Hints` and just show the yellow letters by default it would be much better. I enjoyed the story, but then I learned I can't enable the hints
@lone-wolf aliens probably :shrug:
Web version doesn't load for me. It seems to get stuck at "Preparing (1/2)"
The spice must flow. Tried twice, died twice, fantastic entry.
No `Buy Freedom`, only plant & harvest :unamused:
@ivorius I tried to finish this as much as possible, but couldn't really flesh it out the way I wanted. Currently balancing is non-existent, enemy will outnumber your ships. I don't know, unless you roll perfect rng.
Each population left in camps have a 50% chance of growing a new population, up to pop limit.
My strategy was taking everything from 3 sized camps, leaving 2-3 in 5 sized, 1-2 in 4 sized. So there is chance to grow, but leaving max population in a camp is counterproductive.
Initially I wanted to add efficiency mechanic (having spare admins & ai people), I had to drop it. I also wanted to add buildings to camps, also dropped it to be able to finish on time.
@vinzbad thanks. Soundtrack was done in 20-30 minutes, just before the deadline.
Thanks @justinmullin.
> I can imagine that could be some unique choices forced if you need to try to pick the areas that are most likely to give you the resources you need.
This was in my original plan but I dropped it. Not because of time constraints (I'm sure I could've done it) but because of political correctness reasons. For example some regions of world are rich in natural resources so it could make sense that people taken from the camp are utilized as labor in that region. But how do you explain people from a particular region are good resources for new AI nodes, because their average intelligence is higher? I'd rather avoid this mechanic altogether.
None of it made into the game but I did some world building on paper. If I make an _enhanced version_ I'll make sure to add that stuff in.
Thanks @horda. If I get a decent score I will work on the shortcomings and release a post-jam version. It will be balanced too. I admit this version is impossible to win.
Ships getting repaired is a good idea. Another thing I didn't get to implement was having buildings. Perhaps if you build something like a shipyard you increase the chance of ships' survival
Can't disagree with any of your points @mephistase.
This was my 1st compo, hopefully next one will suck less.
What does sheep do? Other than eating sunflowers?
@theshelfman oh, cool. I thought they were stealing my crops
HUD appears over the map for me, hiding the topmost row. You might want to update. Screenshot_20230109_130532.png
I got to 100k. Then gave up mainly because there's too much clicking. But I enjoyed the part up to there, it's nice to see when the things are working and gas farms and launch pads are balanced.
When I destroyed a lunch pad, it's display thing didn't get removed from screen.
It would be nice warn people that they need to buy 1 of each item at the beginning or else they will be softlocked. If you buy 2 gas farms for example, you need to restart.
Mighty giant sickle! Hell, yeah!

(Music was very nice.)
I think I missed a few cows, trying to go fast.
Great music BTW.
Very nice puzzle game. It is quite complete too. I have no critique on this, but if you decide to add some additional polish some sort of undo mechanic would be nice. I don't usually like puzzles but I enjoyed this one a lot.
